Fall is honestly my favorite season in Russia. I think if you haven’t seen autumn in Russia, you haven’t really seen how beautiful fall can be. 🍁 There is something completely different about Russian autumn. The trees and shrubs slowly turn yellow, orange and deep red, and for a little while everything feels like it has been painted in warm colors. Then the leaves start falling. 🍂 They cover the paths and streets. 🍂 You walk through them. 🍂 And they make that incredibly satisfying crunchy sound under your feet. It sounds like such a small thing, but somehow it makes the whole season feel special. And then there is the weather. The air starts getting colder and fresher, so suddenly a hot tea or coffee tastes even better. ☕️ You can walk outside wrapped in a jacket, come back to a warm café, look through the window at the falling leaves and just enjoy that feeling of the season changing. I also love how quickly the scenery transforms. It's incredibly pleasant to walk here on a sweltering summer day! But look a little closer into the forest, and you'll start to notice clearings with trees of bizarre shapes! There are three specific areas in the forest where birches and pines are frozen in an elegant dance. It feels as if these places have their own special energy! #underratedspots A journey to the remote mountains of the Polar Urals, not far from Vorkuta, Russia. The route took us 100 km along a remote service road and another 20 km through the tundra. Despite being mid-August, the tundra was still full of bright colors and fresh greenery, as if summer had no plans to leave. This time, our destination was the Dolgushin Glacier. We didn’t make it all the way to the glacier, but the mountains rewarded us with an incredible view of a hidden mountain lake. Like an oasis among grey rocks, it changed colors with the sunlight — from turquoise blue to cold steel. This was probably one of the easiest and most beautiful mountain routes I have ever explored. Reindeer trails guided us from the foot of a waterfall and disappeared into fields of rocky terrain. A terminal might accept it today and reject it tomorrow. Withdrawing cash is almost impossible. Do not rely on foreign bank cards. ❗️ ✅ What DOES work: 1. Cash in rubles — the most reliable option.
