Spent a couple of days in Oviedo. Walked around the old town, saw the Cathedral, and had amazing tapas on Gascona Street. Took a trip up to Monte Naranco for the pre-Romanesque churches and finished the day with cider like a local. Before leaving, wandered through El Fontán Market. Stayed in a central hotel so everything was just a short walk away. Highlights? Fabada at Casa Gerardo, cachopo at El Ferroviario, and plenty of cider. #summervacay Exploring Riaño was honestly unreal. The whole area is packed with jaw dropping views, massive mountains, winding roads, and that deep blue reservoir that makes everything look extra dramatic. Riaño itself is this super chill little town right on the water, and it’s the perfect base for mountain adventures or just lazy lakeside hangs. We drove around a bit and stopped at random viewpoints, each one somehow better than the last. The mountains just rise straight up around you, and the way the light hits them? Total postcard material. There’s a floating bridge that gives off big-time wow vibes, especially at sunrise or sunset. The whole vibe is peaceful and untouched, with way fewer tourists than you’d expect. Great for hiking, driving, or just sitting somewhere quiet and letting the scenery do all the work. Bring a jacket, even in summer, it can get breezy! Riaño and the surrounding Picos are pure magic, calm, rugged, and seriously stunning.

If you're ever in the north of Spain, make sure to visit the Riaño Reservoir.
