At first glance, Shangguan Town seemed unremarkable; the streets were sparsely populated, and not a single tourist was to be seen. But as we walked uphill along the riverbank, the scenery became increasingly captivating, and the surroundings grew ever quieter. Occasionally, local villagers would leisurely cycle by, their lives unfolding at a remarkably slow pace. The scenery along the way was picturesque; every snapshot was a masterpiece of natural beauty. Reaching Qingsuo Village, we were truly awestruck. The village possessed a gentle, welcoming atmosphere. A kind grandmother even asked us if we were lost or looking for relatives, revealing that few outsiders frequented this place. The village rules displayed on the walls added to its rustic charm. On the return trip, what surprised me most was the price: a bowl of rice noodles for 6 yuan and wontons for 8 yuan, the taste just as good as in the old town—this was the true value of a small town. We also stumbled upon free restrooms and parking spaces along the way. While resting, we unexpectedly learned that a Spring Festival celebration was being held across the street, so we joined in the fun. We also heard there was a local market this Saturday. Without the hustle and bustle, without commercialization, only genuine human kindness and affordable delicious food, this off-the-beaten-path trip is truly worthwhile!

Hello, today I will share a story from a small city in France, Avignon. Thai people may not know much about this city, but we went there because we joined their summer theater festival. Avignon is an old city where we went. They don’t allow renovations on the outside, but the inside of the houses can be renovated to preserve the original style of art and architecture. It looks like a period movie from Europe. This theater festival is held for a whole month in the old city. The city map is in Figure 13. The blue dots are all the theaters, both small and large. There are also theaters outside the old city because there are so many theaters that they can’t fit in the space in the city. In a month, there are 1,600 theaters in total, both inside and outside the city, in theaters and on the streets. Let me tell you a little bit about the importance of this city. In the past, this city was an important city for Christianity. It was the residence of many Popes and is still one of the few cities in France that still has its city walls. That means you can still visit the city even without the theater festival. Let me continue with the theater festival here.
