The moss on the WWII radar ruins was black-green with salal berry, ate a $7 Cannon Beach clam chowder bread bowl, watched a pod of sea lions off Indian Beach at 09:00. Mistake: I hiked the Tillamook Head full traverse (6.5 mi to Seaside) in Dec afternoon — cliff fog zero viz, turned at Chapman Point; short loops only in winter, full traverse May–Sep, 08:00 start. Another: $5 cash for the iron ranger, booth card-only. Would you pay $5/vehicle for the Ecola Point→Clatsop Loop mossy spruce-cliff walk, or skip Ecola and do the free Oswald West Cape Falcon instead?
