Empire Sushi For Everyone 🍣
Do yourself a favour and get some delicious sushi from Empire Sushi today. Empire Sushi is a sushi take out joint/kiosk that is from Malaysia and their sushi is simply the best. The sushi may look small but they fill you up and most importantly, they are made fresh everyday.
What I love about Empire sushi is that their sushi are constantly kept cool in a chiller to maintain it's freshness and I get to choose what sushi I want. Their sushi comes in many different flavours and ingredients. I particularly love the ebi tempura roll, salmon roll, grilled lobster sushi and many more. I can snap up to 20 pieces at 1 go and Im pretty sure you will do the same too. Mochi and onigiris are also sold and everything starts from RM1.10/piece onwards. That's really reasonably priced. Get some Empire Sushi today!

It use to be a very popular!
Pantai Merdeka, Kedah.
My family and I take a trip to visit Pantai Merdeka and we used to come here before and it was different from nowadays as it beaches is rebuild with stone to protects the land from waves I think but it used to be a very popular destination for families to come and have picnic while swimming on the beaches. With the stones beside the beaches now it makes them look uninteresting and the sand is not very white sandy beach kind of style but still it's a good place to relax on the evening ar any time at all beside the shore with family :)

Segantang Garam Chalet Fishing Port!
The place was nice however, the facilities need to be improvised some more, such as the accessibility for disabled (wheelchair), and much sturdy maintenance of the walkaway within the floating chalet and ports. Please consider this effectively as the disabled also need to be emerged in our community.
Beautiful place, paddy fields, mangrove ny the river. Chalet on the river looks amazing. Suitable place for those who love fishing
Been here for the first time with family. Took the chalet with 2 ariconditioned room. So far this is one of the cleanest on water chalet i've been. Safety wise is good but can be improved. Saw pictures and videos of people fishing there with good catch but we bring back nothing...tones of ropes underwater that cause the hook to stuck when fishing from chalet...😥 For those who plan to just relax with family without demanding much of the accommodation this is the place for you. They even have catering package but need to book in advance...

🍦 Family Fun at Kuala Muda: Food, Views & Sweet Treats! 🚤
Just a short drive from vibrant Tanjung Dawai, Pantai Merdeka offers a breezy, scenic experience for families—think sandy strolls, boat rides, and incredible local eats! After enjoying the gorgeous seaside vibe and browsing for neat souvenirs at Tanjung Dawai’s shops, reward yourself (and the kids!) with delicious, wallet-friendly meals. Portions here are generous, and the desserts—like frosty ice creams or traditional sweets—are a must-try. Don’t forget to capture those creamy treats against the laid-back, beachy backdrop for the perfect indoor dessert photo!
Here’s your easy itinerary:
Start at Pantai Merdeka (08500 Kota Kuala Muda, Kedah, Malaysia—open year-round, all day Wednesday). Kick off with a seaside picnic or hit the stalls for freshly cooked local fare. Afterward, hop on a boat for a mini cruise—the sea breeze and coastal views are pure relaxation. Wrap up with time at Tanjung Dawai for shopping (think dried seafood, batik, and snacks!).
Top photo spots: Snap family group shots by the palm-shaded boardwalk, or get an Insta-worthy close-up of your dessert with the beautiful, blurred beachscape in the background.
Tips: Weekdays are quieter, so you’ll skip big crowds. Bring extra cash for food and shopping—most stalls don’t take cards! Watch the kids near the water and plan for a relaxed pace; the area’s charm is all about slowing down.

Surprise history fact: Malaysia’s oldest city isn’t Melaka—it’s Kedah Tua! Wayyy before Kesultanan Melayu Melaka was a thing, people were living large here. You’ll find ancient ruins chilling alongside old-school artifacts that prove folks thrived in this legendary valley centuries ago.
Candi Batu Pahat is LEVELS—this highlight rocks some Hindu-Buddha vibes and shows how diverse ancient Malaysia really was. The whole Lembah Bujang area is packed with history: archaeologists have dug up everything from pottery to tools, proving Kedah Tua was a buzzing port back in the day.
Inside the museum, you’ll find two buildings:
· One all about the candis (ancient temples) 🛕
· The other dives deep into civilization and the region’s baller economic activity 💰
Calling all history nerds and adventure seekers—Lembah Bujang has gotta be on your bucket list! Getting here is a breeze: just a one-hour drive from Alor Setar Airport and you’re set.

🌿 Jungle Vibes in the Heart of SP!☕
Popped into Café Amazon, Taman Sejati, Sungai Petani and was pleasantly surprised — it’s like stepping into a cozy little getaway tucked inside a city street.
The tropical-themed interior gives off major chill vibes: wood finishes, leafy decor, and warm lighting that makes you want to slow down. It’s the kind of place where you could sit for an hour and not even notice time passing.
Service was friendly and fast, and the prices are reasonable — definitely a solid spot for both casual hangouts and quiet solo coffee breaks. Whether you’re grabbing a drink to-go or settling in for a mid-day escape, the place hits a nice balance between comfort and convenience.

⭐ Final Verdict: 8.5/10
Why I liked it: Great atmosphere, welcoming staff, and just the right kind of chill you want from a café.
Will I return? Absolutely. Sungai Petani just got itself a new go-to coffee corner. 🌴

Kayaking Adventure in Sungai Merbok Mangroves, Kedah
#springitinerary
My Phone’s Waterproof Case Saved the Day! 🌿🚣♀️📱
Just a few minutes into paddling, my phone took a dive into the beautiful mangroves—soaking wet but thankfully protected by its waterproof case! I really can’t stress enough how important a good waterproof case is for outdoor adventures!
This kayaking trip through Sungai Merbok’s mangroves was such a fresh and exciting experience. Gliding through lush greenery, exploring caves, and feeling completely immersed in nature. 🌿☀️
A few tips for outdoor lovers:
✔️ Make sure to bring a waterproof case to keep your gear safe
✔️ Don’t forget sunscreen—otherwise, you might end up looking like a zebra! 🐾🦓
I also met some awesome fellow adventurers who filmed some great footage. If you’re interested, check out “engku explorer Af” on YouTube!

there’re a lot of temples (candi) that has been unearthed in this area, proving the Hindu-Buddhist influence in Kedah Tua. The most preserved is Candi Bukit Batu Pahat that was built in 6th century A.D. (photo 1).
while they’re excavating the temples, they also found jetty remains, iron-smelting sites, and a clay brick monument dating back to 110 AD, making it the oldest man-made structure to be recorded in Southeast Asia.
there is 3 part of the museum:
· outdoor: the reconstructed temples
· 1st Gallery: artifacts related to the Hindu-Buddhist influence
· 2nd Gallery: artifacts related to economical activity in the ancient city (Kedah Tua)
· toilet and surau is provided outside of the building.
· there is an authentic thai restaurant nearby which is popular among the locals (info from the museum staff)

Where Coffee Meets Christmas Magic: Ang Ang’s Roastery Experience
#christmasvibes
This Christmas season, my friends and I decided to celebrate the festive vibes at Ang Ang’s Roastery, and it turned out to be such a delightful experience. The cozy ambiance, decorated with a simple yet charming Christmas tree, instantly put us in the holiday spirit.
As a coffee lover, I couldn’t resist ordering their iced Americano, and it came with the cutest holiday-themed label that read, Dear Santa. It was a refreshing, smooth blend that paired perfectly with our cheerful conversations. The coffee at Ang Ang’s is brewed with care, and you can truly taste the dedication in every sip.
