I visited Shiretoko and Rausu in Hokkaido! The majesty of the great outdoors, fresh seafood, and encounters with wildlife. Every moment was absolutely breathtaking...! [Pic 4] The Road to the Sky This straight road stretches on forever, truly making you feel the sheer vastness of Hokkaido...! [Pic 5] "milcream" soft serve ice cream Rich soft serve made from grass-fed cow's milk. Eating it under a clear blue sky is the absolute best🍦 [Pic 6] The Ezo deer we spotted Casually strolling through the streets or popping up on the roads at night. I visited "Kyodo Ryori Takeda" in Shibetsu Town, Hokkaido. I had been looking forward to visiting this restaurant after learning that you can taste and compare rare types of salmon here. Here’s what I ordered this time: · Marinated Salmon Rice Bowl · Sake-Buri (Salmon and Yellowtail) Rice Bowl · Phantom Salmon & Trout Ruibe 3-Type Tasting The ruibe (partially frozen sashimi) I was especially excited about featured three varieties: Tokishirazu (out-of-season salmon), Sakuramasu (cherry salmon), and Shirozake (chum salmon). Since it's ruibe, I got to enjoy the flavor changes from a chilly, semi-frozen state all the way to when it's fully thawed. When comparing them, they truly taste so different! Tokishirazu is definitely the king! The depth of flavor is on another level. It’s incredibly delicious and makes you say, "This one hits different." My beloved Sakuramasu was, of course, fantastic as well. It just reaffirmed how much I love this specific flavor. Shirozake gives you that familiar, comforting feeling of, "Yep, this is our good old everyday salmon." I was amazed at how much they differ when you eat them side by side, even though they’re all salmon! Enjoying the texture changes as they thawed naturally sparked a lively conversation. The "Sake-Buri Rice Bowl" is a heavenly dish where you can enjoy both salmon and yellowtail at the same time. Also, the baby scallop soup was a pleasant surprise! It had way more baby scallops than I expected, and the miso soup infused with rich scallop broth was absolutely delicious. Shibetsu is a famous salmon producing area in Japan, so all the dishes here are salmon. I saw photos of salmon roe all over the door of Takeda Local Cuisine Restaurant and decided to go in for a meal. It really was full of salmon dishes! There are so many dishes to choose from, including salmon sashimi rice, salmon hot pot, grilled salmon, and of course, plenty of salmon roe! This hotel is located in Shibetsu-cho, and its location is very convenient for going to Shiretoko or Notsuke Peninsula. It is an older building, and there is no air conditioning in the hallway, so it is quite cold when walking to the restaurant and the bathhouse. However, the room has heating and a fireplace, so it is very warm. The room is quite large and can be considered a comfortable room. Breakfast and dinner are included, the meals are pretty good, and there is a large bathing area with both indoor and outdoor pools. It is really nice to take a bath in the outdoor bath in winter. I went to a restaurant that reopened in April next to the Shibetsu Salmon Science Museum! I didn't have much time, so I just had a look around... The building and interior were very stylish, and since it's next to the Shibetsu Salmon Science Museum, there were lots of families with children outside! The soft serve ice cream was delicious! There were lots of carp in the pond that could be seen from the restaurant, and you could feed them! Next time I'd like to have lunch at the restaurant! #Iwanttoconnectwithpeoplewholovetraveling
