I actually wanted to join the paid distillery tour, but it's incredibly hard to book, so I couldn't get a spot...🥲 This time, I visited with the free exhibition viewing (advance booking strictly required)! Even on the free viewing, you can learn about the history and process of whiskey making through the exhibits and videos. I enjoyed it way more than I expected! ✨ By the way, the free viewing is also super popular, and spots can fill up fast depending on the timing, so booking early is highly recommended! After looking around came the paid tasting I was so excited for! 🥃✨ (It seems those on the paid tour can do the tasting at no extra cost.) I ordered the 3-kind tasting flight (1,600 JPY), which includes 10ml each of "Yamazaki", "Yamazaki 12 Years", and "Yamazaki 18 Years"! I wanted to visit a place that feels like summer, so I went to Minase Shrine, which is famous for its wind chimes that play cool melodies! As I passed through the torii gate, I was greeted by wind chimes made by children from a nearby nursery school. The unique and charming wind chimes were absolutely adorable☺️☺️ Inside the shrine grounds, there were many wind chimes and pinwheels, and the sound they made when the wind blew was truly beautiful🎐✨ There is also a limited-time light-up event at night, so I definitely want to visit during the evening next time!! 🚃 About a 20-minute walk from Hankyu Oyamazaki Station/Minase Station 🫖 There is a lovely cafe near Oyamazaki Station that I also visited♡

If you are ever in Osaka and have a few days to spare, highly recommend the Yamazaki distillery tour. Though it is on a ballot basis, if you are lucky enough to get a slot, do not skip it. For a slight cost of 3000yen, you get to see the whisky making process and see the oldest barrel ever used. You also get to try their whisky flight and also a chance to purchase some souvenirs from their gift shop and limited edition Yamazaki whisky that’s only sold at the tour. The 3000yen is well worth it for what you would get from the tour!

I've been looking forward to this for a long time, and it took me ages to get a reservation. 🫠 But it was truly worth it. I got a unique taste and a brief tour. Although I didn't get to take a more in-depth tour of the distillery, it was still fun to come in and buy some souvenirs and drink. 💕 I highly recommend this for wine lovers. Located on the border between Osaka and Kyoto prefectures, it's only a short train ride from Kyoto Station and Osaka Station! It's not too far from Yamazaki Station, so it's very easy to get to. Please note that advance reservations are required. The facility itself isn't very large, but the exhibits, shop, and tasting lounge were very satisfying. They have whiskey prototypes from each year, and although you can't drink them, I recommend trying to find one from the year you were born! You should definitely try the whiskey!
