Summary first: There are indeed a lot of persimmons and they look great, but there are too many tourists, so the experience is not very good and quite exhausting 🫠 🚗 Detailed itinerary: Left Shouning by car at 9:30 AM, arrived at Pingtan transfer point No. 6 around 12 PM. Private cars are no longer allowed to enter; all cars must park on the roadside and wait for the shuttle bus. This shuttle is free and takes you to the Liuchianshi transfer point, passing several transfer stops. It seems that those who arrive earlier can park a bit further inside. No. 6 is, in my opinion, currently the farthest point. After arriving at the Liuchianshi transfer point, you need to get off and buy a shuttle ticket to enter the village, 15 yuan per person. The shuttle goes in two directions: Longtan (Qiántóu) and Siping. We only went to Qiántóu village. First, we took the bus to Longtan, got off, walked through Longtan village, and reached the Longtan transfer point where we had to change shuttles to go to Qiántóu village. We couldn’t wait any longer, so we found a local motorcycle taxi for 5 yuan per person to take us from Longtan to Qiántóu. Qiántóu village has relatively fewer people, is small, and it takes about an hour to walk around. There are many persimmon trees, and you can find good photo spots easily. We found a great persimmon, very sweet! (Not picked, really 🥹) We started heading back around 3 PM, again took a motorcycle from Qiántóu to Longtan, waited for the shuttle to Liuchianshi, then here’s the key point! At Liuchianshi transfer point, only one family member driving the car is allowed to take the free shuttle to our parking spot. The family member must drive to Liuchianshi to pick us up. For the return trip via Siping village, it is not allowed for everyone to take the shuttle to the parking spot to turn around. After several shuttle rides, it really got confusing 😵 My husband picked me up at 4:30 PM. We spent the whole day just visiting one Qiántóu village, haha, bitter smile 😄 🍚 About food: Longtan has many restaurants where you can have lunch. Qiántóu village has quite a few snack stalls. We didn’t have time or energy to go to Siping village; all our energy was spent waiting for and riding the shuttles. I think Qiántóu village has pretty nice scenery, many persimmon trees, and fewer crowds. I prefer ancient towns and natural scenery. If there were fewer people and more time, I could stroll around slowly, take photos, and avoid weekends for a more comfortable experience. Weekends are really too crowded with too many people and cars. The small village can’t accommodate such a large flow of people, so traffic control is necessary. Although it’s a bit complicated, it seems to be the best tourism plan the local government can manage. Many staff are volunteers. 📖History of Xiadang Village Xiadang Village was originally named Dangchuan, and was later divided into Shangdang and Xiadang due to its terrain.
