After entering Malaysia, I could simply walk straight to the hotel. And in just a few minutes, you can get to JB Sentral, where you can catch a train or head to different attractions. It’s a huge plus for independent travelers. 🛏️Clean and comfortable room The room gave me a great first impression—it was neat, clean, and the space didn’t feel cramped. After coming back at night, I could really rest well, which is such a big plus when traveling. 🛍️Food, shopping, and entertainment right downstairs Right next to the hotel are Johor Bahru City Square and Komtar JBCC. If you get hungry at night, there’s nothing to worry about—just step outside and you’ll find plenty of restaurants and local eats. 🍞A nice little breakfast surprise The next morning, I went to Medina Baru Restaurant across the street. The freshly made roti smelled amazing the moment it was served. Simple, tasty, and very affordable—it totally put me in a good mood after breakfast 🥹 ✨Overall impression What stood out most from this stay was this— Getting around became so much easier, and managing my time was a lot more convenient, which made the whole trip go much more smoothly.

Driving in this area is highly recommended as it gives you the flexibility to explore at your own pace, and parking is usually convenient near the popular stalls. Alternatively, taking a cab works well—just let your driver know you’re after fresh durian, and they’ll know where to go. Once you arrive, you’ll notice the abundance of seating options around the stalls. After picking out your preferred durian—whether you love the creamy sweetness of Musang King or want to try something unique—grab a table, sit back, and savour the moment. Most stalls are open late into the evening, making this an ideal stop for supper after a busy day. Many of these durian sellers are seasoned experts and are happy to help you select your preferred variety or teach you the taste differences. The atmosphere is relaxed with groups of locals and travelers alike enjoying the king of fruits under the night sky. Pro tip: bring some wet wipes with you, as durian can get messy! They do provide tissue and gloves while you focus on your indulgence! If you’re driving, keep in mind that it’s easiest to explore the JB area by car for safety and convenience, especially if you’re heading out late at night. Who knew there was such a budget-friendly and affordable hotel in Salatiga City with a calm, warm, and aesthetic vibe? It's absolutely perfect for a family trip. The hotel is cozy and peaceful, despite its vintage feel. The building has 3 floors, but if you're traveling with family, it's best to request a room on the 1st floor since there's no elevator. Getting to the hotel is super easy, and it's close to the bustling parts of town too. It's only about an 8-minute drive to Pancasila Square. Oh, by the way, this is a Sharia-compliant hotel.
