2026 Ternate Travel Guide: must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transport & travel experiences (updated in March)

During my exploration in Ternate, I accidentally saw an interesting traditional restaurant. My curiosity leads me to stop by this restaurant and have my lunch here. The view was so amazing and we would eat inside the floating boat whoch makes it interesting and memorable. The lake water is so calm and the air is so fresh. The most interesting part is, you do your own fishing, and if you get one, you can eat the fish you got. OMG i highly recommend you guys if you happened to visit Ternate. That was so unfortunate that when i went to this iconic spot, there are a lot of trash everywhere and needed attention to be cleaned. If you happen to have plans to travel to Ternate Island, North Maluku, Indonesia here are 3 places i recommended to visit! Jikomalamo Beach. Clean beaches with unspoiled coral reefs, lots of colorful fish. A great place for snorkeling and diving. The water is very clear. The boat that was leaning on the pier just looked like it was floating because the water was so clear. Hol Sulamadaha. The place is quiet, with very beautiful combination of island, mountain and sea views. You can snorkel, play boats, relax sitting on a buoy, or just enjoy the relaxed atmosphere while enjoying hot boiled noodles. Tolire Lake. A brilliantly volcanic lake, Tolire Lake is set in a crater at the foot of Mount Gamalama.
