Since I was only planning to stay at a hotel this time, I narrowed down my search based on convenient location, affordability, and bathroom facilities (cleanliness, water-resistant floors, etc.). Single beds in Scandinavia are all narrow. lol All my reservations were room-only. (The hotel in Stockholm included free breakfast.) 🏨 Scandic Helsinki Aviacongress 📍Vantaa, Finland🇫🇮 (Around Helsinki Airport) Since my first day's plan was to arrive in Helsinki and visit the sauna I had reserved, and I was leaving for Copenhagen early the next morning, I found a hotel near the airport and stayed here. The hotel offers a free shuttle bus to and from the airport, running from early in the morning. Although it's far from downtown Helsinki, there's a bus stop near the hotel, which I used to get to the city. The room was clean and spacious. The price was reasonable, so I recommend it to anyone with a similar schedule. 🏨 Copenhagen Island Hotel 📍Copenhagen, Denmark🇩🇰 Hotel prices in Copenhagen were generally higher than in other cities, perhaps because it was a Saturday or perhaps just because. I planned to take the bus to Stockholm the next day, so I chose this hotel, which was nearby the bus terminal and reasonably priced. The hotel was close to the station and bus stop, and it was only one stop to Central Station, so travel was easy. I only passed through it on my way to the station because I didn't have much time, but there's a shopping mall next to the hotel. The room was clean and tidy. 🏨 Queen's Hotel by First Hotels 📍Stockholm, Sweden🇸🇪 I searched for a budget hotel close to Stockholm Central Station. I was a little worried because it seemed a bit far to walk from the station and the hotel seemed a little old, but I booked it anyway, thinking it would be fine since I was only staying there for one night. As it turned out, it was perfectly within walking distance even with a carry-on bag, and the roads weren't too bumpy, so I got around without any issues. The room was simple but clean, with plenty of space to spread out my luggage. The elevator was an old-fashioned manual elevator, which added to the European feel. I also appreciated the free breakfast included. 🏨 Ivalo River Camping 📍Ivalo, Finland🇫🇮 During my three-day aurora viewing trip, I wanted to stay at an aurora hut on the last day, so I wanted to keep costs as low as possible for the first two nights. I chose this hotel because it had good reviews. I'd never stayed in a cottage before, and I was a little worried about what the shared facilities would be like, since the toilets and showers were outside the cottage. However, they were very well maintained and I had no problems using them. As noted on the reservation page, bed linens and towels are charged separately from the accommodation fee, so be aware of that. (€12/person - pricey!) There's also a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer, so I was able to do my laundry. (€15/3 hours - I brought my own, so I didn't use it, but detergent and other items were available.) Unfortunately, the weather was bad the night I stayed, and I couldn't see the aurora, but there was a river across the road in front, and I was able to relax and enjoy the beautiful sunset. 🏨 Holiday Village Inari 📍Inari, Finland🇫🇮 I booked this Aurora Hut, which I'd always wanted to stay at. The rooms face Lake Inari, are spacious, and have a luxurious atmosphere. There are also supermarkets and souvenir shops nearby. The room was fully stocked with cutlery and other amenities, which was convenient when eating food from the supermarket. I needed to call the staff to confirm something about a tour I'd booked personally, and they were very accommodating. Our aurora tour the day before was canceled and we had to reschedule our stay here, so we didn't have much time to relax in our room. However, when we returned from the aurora tour, the aurora was in full bloom, and we were able to see it from our room. It was truly a dreamlike experience! 🥹🤍 🏨 Scandic Simonkenttä 📍Helsinki, Finland 🇫🇮 It's located right behind Kamppi Chapel. It's directly connected to Kamppi Station, but you can also walk to Helsinki Central Station. The tram stops right in front of the hotel, so it was convenient for getting to the ferry terminal in one go when going to Tallinn. Kamppi Station is home to Kamppi Center, a large shopping mall with a Marimekko store and a supermarket. The supermarket was open fairly late, which was helpful since I was short on time. There is also a 24-hour supermarket closer to the central station. The hotel is in a great location, making it easy to get to anywhere, so I highly recommend it for sightseeing in Helsinki.
