To easily enjoy the Soni Plateau, hike up the stepped trail to Kameyama Pass, then follow the ridge to the summit of Mt. Kameyama at an altitude of 849m and descend to the plateau. It takes about an hour to go around, but it is recommended that you wear comfortable shoes at least sneakers. The view from Kameyama Pass is wonderful. The gently sloping Soni Plateau spreads out below you with Okame Pond at the center, and behind it are mountains such as Byobuiwa, Sumizukayama, Kunimiyama, Kabutodake, and Yoroitake, which are lined up like a folding screen. However, the Noguchi Parking Lot (800 yen), which is right next to the Japanese pampas grass, is quite strict in terms of structure and number of cars, and tends to be congested.
