Some routes stay in your memory not because of the destination, but because of the journey itself. The Georgian Military Road is one of those. As the car climbs higher and higher, the familiar world is left far below, and an endless panorama opens up before your eyes, taking your breath away. This is the Kazbegi Pass. A place where green foothills meet formidable snow-capped peaks, and the sky feels so close you could almost reach out and touch it. Late spring here is especially beautiful: lush emerald grass pushes through the soil, while the last patches of snow still linger on the slopes like white brushstrokes, reminding you of the winter that has just passed. Down below, winding gently through the wide valley, the mountain river Terek weaves its way, gathering glacial freshness into its waters. Watching its meandering path, you realize how quietly yet powerfully nature moves here. There is not a soul around—just the wind, the mountains, and a bittersweet sense of absolute freedom. We drove along this serpentine road, gazed out the window, and caught ourselves thinking that no photograph can ever truly capture this depth. You simply have to be here. To feel the cool mountain air, to watch the clouds drift slowly right above your head, and to understand that these moments are exactly what make you want to drop everything and head out on long journeys. Georgia greets us like this: open, majestic, and incredibly alive. This is not just a pass—it is a gateway to a true fairytale. #travel2026 #georgia

When people visit Georgia in autumn, they usually rush straight to Kazbegi or Svaneti. But after years of exploring this country, Sasha and I found the absolute ultimate destination for #fallcolors: the Racha region, specifically Shaori Lake. Often called the "Switzerland of Georgia," Racha is completely untouched by mass tourism. If you want to experience the season without the crowds, here is why you need to add it to your itinerary: 🍁 The Ultimate Mirror Effect Shaori Lake sits at an altitude of over 1,100 meters, surrounded by dense mixed forests. In October and November, these trees turn explosive shades of crimson, gold, and burnt orange. Because the lake is so peaceful and still, the water acts as a perfect, massive mirror. For anyone traveling with a proper camera, setting your output to RAW here is mandatory—the natural color grading potential is insane, and you will not need any filters. ⛰️ The Nakerala Pass Drive Getting there is half the adventure. The drive takes you through the Nakerala Pass, winding up through a literal tunnel of autumn foliage. It is one of the most scenic, quiet roads in the entire Caucasus. You will find yourself wanting to pull over every five minutes just to take it all in. 🧺 The Slow Travel Escape There are no noisy tourist traps, massive observation decks, or crowded restaurants blocking the shoreline. We simply picked up some local Georgian cheese and fresh bread, brewed our own coffee, and sat by the water in total silence. It is the perfect place to completely disconnect. Let's discuss: Do you prefer traveling in the peak of summer, or are you a fan of moody, colorful autumn trips? Let me know below! 👇 #fallcolors

#underratedspots Living by the seaside in a hot climate for many years has completely changed what summer means to me. You can call me spoiled, but sunny beaches and 30°C weather are simply my everyday life for around nine months of the year. That’s why my perfect summer day isn’t on a tropical beach. It’s somewhere cool. In 2024, I discovered Kazbegi (Stepantsminda), Georgia, and it instantly became one of my favorite underrated summer destinations. I still remember arriving after experiencing 30°C in Istanbul, then another 30°C in Tbilisi. As soon as I reached Kazbegi, the temperature dropped to around 15°C. I can’t describe how refreshing that felt. We even saw a little hail, making the experience even more unforgettable. Surrounded by the Caucasus Mountains, a perfect day there doesn’t need a busy itinerary. Go for a hike, breathe in the fresh mountain air, or simply sit on the terrace of a café with a hot cup of coffee and watch the clouds drift across the peaks. Sometimes, that’s all you need. For me, this is one of those underrated places that completely changes your idea of a summer holiday. Instead of escaping to the beach, I escape the heat. Summer is also the most comfortable time to visit Kazbegi. The weather is pleasantly cool, hiking trails are accessible, and the mountain roads are usually open. During winter, heavy snowfall can temporarily block the road, and temperatures become much harsher. If you’re looking for a refreshing summer escape, it’s hard to think of a better place.

💗 For this trip, we traveled for 8 days and 7 nights, from May 5-12, 2023, with a total of 4 people. Budget Breakdown 👀 Flight tickets: 20,935 THB, booked via Trip.com BKK - TBS 04.10 - 13.40 (+1) ON 5 MAY TBS - BKK 14.40 - 10.10 ON 13 MAY 🏨 Accommodation: 5,596.18 THB - All places were rooms that sleep 4 people with no separate rooms. 🚗 Guide fee for Kazbegi down to Gori for 3 days: 9xx GEL We contacted several guides for our three-day journey. 🚃 Train fare Tbilisi - Batumi Roundtrip: 280 GEL (4 people + credit card fee / ~3,960 THB) Gori - Tbilisi: 48 GEL (4 people + credit card fee / ~696 THB) 🍳 Food and miscellaneous expenses: 8,500 THB > 7-Day SIMCARD: 40 GEL. We shared the internet. One of my friends got a SIM card from another friend who went to Georgia, so we only had to buy one. > I must say that the food cost seems cheap because we only ate one or two meals a day—we were so busy exploring that we forgot to eat, or we couldn't stop right away. Personally, I love the food because I enjoy milk and cheese. Some of my friends found it a bit salty, but I didn't mind at all and enjoyed everything very much. 💖 Our accommodations for this trip: Day 1 (5-6 May) : T’bilisi 1,577.94 THB This place is a short walk to the Clock Tower. Getting around and finding food is quite convenient. The auntie who owns the place only speaks "Yes Yes Yes", so sign language is highly recommended. However, I personally loved this place so much—it had everything we needed. Day 2 (6-7 May) : Eco house merisi 9,373.32 THB This place is very popular, but you have to book directly with the hotel. We chose to visit Batumi just to stay here, and it didn't disappoint. It is absolutely stunning in every detail. Day 3 (7-8 May) : Fabrika Hostel & Suites 1,781.92 THB For this one, we stayed in a mixed hostel dorm for 4 people. The staff's attitude might not exactly match Thai preferences—they kind of act super chic to match the vibe of the place, haha. Day 4 (8-9 May) : Kazbegi Cabin 2,608 THB If you skip this, you're missing out! The accommodation is exactly as advertised with spectacular views. However, the room was insanely hot even without the heater on. I was so confused—how could it be 0 degrees outside? Day 5 (9-10 May) : Gudauri 1,772.46 THB Honestly, this place is great. The only catch is that we went during the off-ski season, so they didn't turn on the central heater; they only provided a portable one. It was 1 degree outside. We argued about it for a while, but the accommodation couldn't resolve the issue. They offered to let us move hotels and give us a refund, but the prices in the area were way too high. In the end, we decided to sleep in our winter jackets and thick socks, curled up like cocoons. Day 6 (10-11 May) : Nitsa Guest 120 GEL (~1,604 THB) The guest house auntie is incredibly lovely! She even played the piano for us. The care was excellent, and it felt super cozy. I'm not surprised it has nearly perfect reviews. The only downside is that the water pressure was so weak that we just waited to shower when we got back to Tbilisi. Day 7 (11-12 May) : Tiflis Inn Hotel 3,667.19 THB This place is close to the Marjanishvili Metro. For our last day, we wanted to stay near the metro for an easy trip to the airport. We focus on budget travel, and I highly recommend this place. The rooms are nice, and the best part is that the bathroom actually has a bidet! It was also the only place that included breakfast. Our Travel Itinerary 🐾 Day 1 Bangkok - Tbilisi Day 2 Tbilisi - Batumi Day 3 Batumi - Tbilisi Day 4 Tbilisi - Kazbegi (booked a guide/driver) Day 5 Kazbegi - Juta (didn't go due to bad road conditions) - Gudauri Day 6 Gudauri - Gori Day 7 Gori - Tbilisi Day 8 Tbilisi - Bangkok

🇬🇪 If Georgia has been on your travel wishlist, this fare is definitely worth a look. Qatar Airways is currently offering round-trip flights from Kuala Lumpur to Tbilisi from RM2,219, with a comfortable transit in Doha. The fare already includes: ✈️ 25kg checked baggage 🎒 Cabin baggage allowance 🍽️ Full-service experience with meals and award-winning onboard service If you're planning to visit, autumn (September to November) is arguably one of the best times of the year. The vineyards turn golden, the Caucasus Mountains are painted in autumn colours, and the cooler weather makes exploring cities like Tbilisi, Kazbegi, and Kakheti much more enjoyable. Georgia is one of those destinations that offers a bit of everything—historic towns, dramatic mountain scenery, incredible food, and some of the world's oldest wine culture—all without feeling overly touristy. Thought I'd share this for anyone considering a trip. Qatar Airways is usually a solid choice for long-haul travel, and this fare looks like a good option if you're planning an autumn getaway. 🇬🇪🍂 #cheapflightdeals #travel #georgia #tbilisi #kualalumpur #qatar #autumn

Many people ask when is the best time to visit Georgia? Personally, I give May a 10/10, hands down! It's the perfect time when nature is completely waking up from its winter slumber. The view right in front of you is "the ultimate contrast" 🏔️ The mountains here are insanely green! The fresh green meadows contrast perfectly with the peaks that are still capped in "pure white snow." Especially if you visit the Kazbegi area... it literally feels like stepping right out of a fairytale painting! The photos are from late May. If you're looking for a trip early in the year or planning a nature getaway, I highly recommend it! Has anyone else visited Georgia around this time? A small village nestled in the Caucasus Mountains of northern Georgia, renowned for its spectacular mountain views and tranquil nature. The highlight is the Gergeti Trinity Church, perched high on a hilltop against the dramatic backdrop of Mount Kazbek's nearly year-round snow-capped peak. If you love mountains, crisp weather, and postcard-perfect scenery, Kazbegi is a once-in-a-lifetime destination you simply cannot miss.

Perched halfway up the slopes of Kazbegi, there’s a hotel that has captured my heart - Rooms Hotel Kazbegi💖 Opened in 1975, it remains the beloved dream destination for countless travelers✨ I stayed here for 2 days, and every morning I woke up to the snow-capped Kazbegi Mountains and the silhouette of the Holy Trinity Church—it was truly healing~ 🏔️ Unbeatable Views | The joy of watching snowy mountains from bed The hotel is located at the highest point of the town, boasting 360° unbeatable mountain views! The ritual of unlocking the door with the key feels like stepping back into the last century🔑 🛏️ Room Experience | Small but exquisite mountain cabin The rooms aren’t large, but the huge window facing the snowy mountains makes it worth every penny! The bedding is super comfortable; falling asleep with the snow view and waking up to sunlight—this kind of life is just too luxurious💕 🍳 Breakfast Time | Rated by many as the "best breakfast of a lifetime" Sitting by the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing at the Kazbegi snow mountains in the morning light while enjoying a rich and delicious breakfast... this is probably one of the most luxurious pleasures in the world🍽️ 🗺️ Nearby Activities | Perfect 3-day, 2-night itinerary Day 1|Hike to Holy Trinity Church After taking a minibus from Tbilisi to Kazbegi, I recommend hiking to the Holy Trinity Church, then returning to the hotel terrace in the evening to watch the golden sunset over the mountains🌄 Day 2|Adventure in Juta Valley Take a car to Juta village and hike the Chaukhi Valley, then relax in the hotel’s heated pool with snowy views in the afternoon🏊 Day 3|Explore Truso Gorge Discover ancient village ruins and carbonated springs, then return to Tbilisi in the afternoon Every moment here reminded me: travel should be slow, take a pause, and truly feel it✨ What I miss most after leaving is the terrace facing the snowy mountains, the warm sound of the fireplace, and the ritual of turning the key... This is probably what an ideal vacation hotel looks like💫

Snow-capped, powerful, and ever-changing, the mountain feels alive, shifting with the light, the clouds, and the mood of the day. The town itself is quiet and grounded, a resting point beneath the giants of the Caucasus. From here, Kazbek feels close enough to touch yet impossibly distant, watching over everything in silence. Is Georgia suitable for a self-drive trip? Yes — if you're already a confident driver. But you’ll need a lot of focus! First, they drive on the left-hand side of the car (left-hand drive), so if you’re not used to it, it can feel confusing at first. Sometimes both the driver and passenger get disoriented or even mix up which side to get in the car 😂. Most locals are extremely skilled at overtaking on curves — both in the city and in the mountains. Some roads aren’t great, with lots of rocks and constant construction. In some areas, you even have to avoid cows because locals raise a lot of cattle. Our itinerary is very chill because… well, our bodies can’t handle intense trips anymore 😂. We only visited a few places each day because the distances between cities are long and travel time eats up a big part of the day. Travel dates: 17–28 September 2025 🚗 Let’s hit the road… ✿ Day 1: Tbilisi We landed in Tbilisi, the capital, and spent one day exploring before heading to other cities. But the wind was extremely strong that day — strong enough that the cable car was shut down — so our plans changed completely. We ended up strolling around the city instead. · Dry Bridge Flea Market · Rustaveli Avenue · Freedom Square · Jan Sharden Kucha · Rike Park · Bridge of Peace · Gabriadze Clock Tower ✿ Day 2: Mtskheta – Stepantsminda (Kazbegi) Today we headed to Kazbegi — about a 3-hour drive up the mountains. The road and conditions were good and not scary, though you’ll need to watch out for occasional rocks and potholes. Lots of curves, but definitely not as bad as Mae Hong Son! On the way, we stopped in Mtskheta, which is full of religious sites — so many churches, and they’re beautiful with great viewpoints. · Chronicle of Georgia · Jvari Monastery · Ananuri Fortress ✿ Day 3: Juta Valley (Fifth Season) Fifth Season and Juta Village are dreams for mountain lovers who (like us) don’t really want to hike much 😂. Reviews said the walk to Fifth Season is only about 1 km — so we booked immediately! But honestly… it’s quite steep. It’s the most exhausting 1 km ever. But even someone like me who never exercises could do it — so you can too!! We stayed at Fifth Season. There’s a lake you can hike to (another 3 km), but nope… we rested instead 😌. ✿ Day 4: Kazbegi – Borjomi A long travel day — around 4+ hours from Kazbegi to Borjomi. We stopped at a few spots in Kazbegi, and by the time we reached Borjomi, it was already evening. · Gigantic Sculpture by Merab Piranishvili · Georgia–Russia Friendship Monument ✿ Day 5: Mestia ✿ Day 6: Ushguli ✿ Day 7: Kutaisi ✿ Day 8: Tbilisi #travel #couplestrip #familytravel #myitinerary

Tired of expensive trips? Discover how Georgia in the summer (late July) offers more than just the stunning Caucasus Mountains. It's a destination you can explore on a budget! Our 9-day trip with 4 friends was entirely self-planned, focusing on complete freedom by renting a car for the entire journey. From the architecture in Tbilisi to the peaks of Mestia and Kazbegi, we experienced it all. 💰 A budget that truly works! Over 8 nights and 9 days, we spent only 17,000 THB per person (excluding airfare). This was achieved through our "share-split-save" strategy. The key to saving was renting a car for the trip, making travel costs flexible and significantly cheaper. When split among four, the 6-day car rental cost was just about 2,240 THB per person, with fuel costing only 1,000 THB each! The majority of the budget, around 7,600 THB, was allocated to 8 nights of accommodation, focusing on value and scenic views. Especially at Heshkili, where we enjoyed million-dollar views at an affordable price. Food expenses were also manageable at just 3,500 THB for the entire trip. We also set aside money for adventure activities, such as hiring a car to Koruldi Lake, taking the Mt. Zuruldi cable car, and a taxi to Juta Valley, all of which totaled less than 1,300 THB! This trip proves that Georgia is a country where you can experience world-class adventures on a budget. Prepare your budget in the tens of thousands and set out to conquer the wide world! #GeorgiaRoadTrip #CaucasusMountains

Who says traveling to Georgia has to be expensive? This is a 9-day trip organized by the four of us at the end of July. We focused on renting a car and exploring the Caucasus Mountains, including Mestia and Kazbegi, and exploring the charming city of Tbilisi. Even more amazing than the itinerary was the budget! This spectacular trip cost just ~17,000 THB per person (not including airfare). ✅ Budget Analysis per Person (8 Nights): This trip proves that splitting the cost between four people can be incredibly affordable! Accommodations (8 nights): ~7,600 THB/person (main expense, worth the view) Car Rental (6 days): A great value at just ~2,240 THB/person (not including gas, ~1,000 THB) Food: Total cost for the entire trip: ~3,500 THB/person Activity Fees: Including rental car rental to Koruldi Lake, the Mt. Just a 3-hour drive from Tbilisi! Once you arrive, the Caucasus Mountains unfold right before your eyes. Kazbegi (Stepantsminda) is a high-altitude village sitting at 1,700m above sea level, and the natural beauty is absolutely breathtaking. ✨ Why should you go? ✔️ Gergeti Trinity Church – Georgia’s iconic landmark standing tall on the mountain ✔️ Mount Kazbek Views – The magnificent scenery of the Caucasus ✔️ Activities – Trekking, paragliding, or just a quiet cup of tea at a cafe 🚙 How to get there from Tbilisi 1. Car Rental or Taxi – The most comfortable way, with stops at Ananuri Fortress & Zhinvali Reservoir possible (approx. 150~200 GEL one way) 2. Marshrutka (Minibus) – Departs from Didube Terminal, approx. 15 GEL (but you'll miss the scenic stops) 3. Local Tours – Best value! Includes major viewpoints ⛰ TIP 📌 Check the weather first (clouds can hide the mountain views) 📌 Reach Gergeti Church by trekking or Jeep (approx. 15~20 GEL) 📌 Watch out for snowy roads in winter! This is the highlight of any Georgia trip. Make sure to experience Kazbegi when you're in Georgia! 💕

🇬🇪 Trekking in Kazbegi, Georgia 🏔️ Trekking in Kazbegi was the highlight of my trip to Georgia. The 'Mount Kazbegi' trail, which starts at a unique stone statue, offered an unforgettable experience with clear streams and flocks of sheep along the way—something you don't often encounter in Korea. ✅ Beginner-friendly, gentle trails available ✅ Numerous picturesque photo spots

#AdventureMoment 🏔The initial climb from Kazbegi village to the church is quite steep. It can be a bit hot in summer, and in winter and spring, the snow and mud can make it slippery. 🥲 As you walk past the church and head towards the Gergeti Valley, the view suddenly opens up, with snowy mountains and meadows appearing simultaneously. The scenery is truly surreal! 👍
