Suthep travel guide and discussion

#chiangmai #roast8ry #specialtycoffee #latteart #nimman #travel #thailand Most coffee shops are predictable. Coffee. Milk. Maybe a pastry. This is not one of those places. It is in Chiang Mai, in a neighbourhood called Nimman. It is not the old town. It is a newer area, popular for cafes and shops. The building is concrete and metal. Industrial. Unpolished. But outside, there is greenery everywhere. It softens the whole place. It is a good combination. Inside is small and cool. Carefully designed. Outside, you sit under the plants. It feels hidden, even though you are in a busy area. The coffee I had was called Black & Yellow. It arrived in a glass, like a cocktail. A slice of dried mango sat across the rim. The coffee was dark and rich. It was shaken with fresh mango juice. The taste was sharp, tangy, and refreshing. They give you a card that explains your coffee—where it is from and what it tastes like. It is a small thing, but it makes the experience better. The owner is a world latte art champion. But that is not why you come here. You come here because this place is pushing what coffee can be. They serve coffee cocktails, like the Ethiopian Negroni. They have experimental drinks. They have award-winning coffee that you will not find in other places. It is not just a coffee shop. It is a place that makes you think differently about coffee. 📍 Roast8ry Flagship – 24, 9 Nimmanhaemin Soi 17, Suthep, Mueang Chiang Mai 🕒 Daily: 8am–5pm ☕ Signature drinks: ~108–250 THB | Premium rare coffees: up to 1,600 THB 💡 Sit outside. The mix of concrete and greenery is part of the experience. A coffee experience you won't forget. ✨

Sometimes epic travel moment is not about going somewhere far. Huay Kaew Waterfall in Chiang Mai is a simple place, easy to get to, but still feels really nice. Just sit, listen to the water, walk around a bit and enjoy the green view. No big plan, no long trip. Just a small escape from the city that makes the day better. I think these kind of moments are also what travel is about. Not every memory has to be from a famous place. What’s your favorite simple travel moment? #epictravelmoments #thailand #chiangmai

This time, I made a pilgrimage to the award-winning latte art coffee shop in the Nimman area — Ristr8to Original 🥇! The founder has won the World Latte Art Championship, and their latte art, skull coffee cups, and professional coffee classifications are very famous 🌟. Here, you'll find a professional and diverse coffee menu. Whether it's a pour-over black coffee, a special iced coffee, or a rich milk coffee, there are detailed subdivisions of different recipes and beans. The baristas will create delicate and artistic latte art on the spot, depending on the type of milk coffee you order. The afternoon sun in Chiang Mai is scorching hot. It's so enjoyable to come into the shop, enjoy the strong air conditioning, order a cold specialty or pour-over coffee, and pair it with their homemade desserts/ice cream! The shop is also very popular among foreign tourists 🫶🏽. ☕️ Signature Coffee - Flat White (Auckland) | THB 88 A must-order at this latte art champion shop is the Flat White. It has a silky and dense texture, perfectly blending rich coffee aroma with milk, and comes with a heart and wings latte art design~ ☕️ Hot Black - Brewers Coffee (V60) | THB 128 The professional V60 pour-over perfectly showcases the layers and cleanness of the beans. It has a slight acidity with a sweet aftertaste, suitable for friends who like to savor the original flavor of coffee~ 🧇 Homemade Waffle Tower | THB 138 Dreamy blue vanilla ice cream 🍦 paired with made-to-order waffles that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The combination of cold and hot goes perfectly with the slightly bittersweet coffee! If you get tired from shopping in the Nimman area, come grab a cup of world-class coffee and treat yourself to an afternoon full of aroma and energy 🍃~ 📍 Ristr8to Original 🧭 Address: 15/3 Nimmanahaeminda Road, Suthep, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai ⌛ Opening Hours: 07:00 - 17:30

Chiang Mai is honestly one of the most charming cities up in northern Thailand — it’s TOTAL vibes if you’re into peaceful temples and chill nature 🌳. The city is famous for iconic spots like Wat Phra That Doi Suthep (seriously, the view from up there is next level 🤯). You can check it out at 9 Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai 50200, Thailand — open daily from 6:00am to 5:00pm. Don’t miss strolling through the Old City where ancient temples are literally around every corner — get your inner explorer ready! The Sunday Night Market at Rachadamnoen Road is also a foodie paradise (no joke, the street food is sooo good and super affordable 😍). Market opens every Sunday from 4:00pm to midnight, just follow your nose! But the main event that had me shook this year was the legendary Lantern Festival (Yi Peng and Loi Krathong) held every November. Picture this: thousands of glowing paper lanterns filling the night sky — it’s Netflix-level magical IRL🏮✨. Chiang Mai during the Lantern Festival is straight-up dream material and something you HAVE to experience at least once. Add it to your bucket list and get ready to be wowed! #photovsrealitytravel

Mai-Ni-Ji Everyday at Baan Kang Wat 🧺✨ A charming little handmade shop that's a joy to explore. Mai-Ni-Ji Everyday is a cozy little handmade shop tucked away in the Baan Kang Wat project. The atmosphere is warm and simple, yet filled with adorable details—from fabric bags and embroidery to various handcrafted goods. As you browse, you'll appreciate how unique each item is; they're like little pieces of art designed for everyday use. If you’re a fan of handmade crafts or looking for a one-of-a-kind souvenir, this is a spot in Baan Kang Wat where you could easily lose track of time just looking around. 🪡🎨

Chiang Mai knows how to do sunsets. I spent three evenings hunting down the best views—here's the verdict. 🌄 Spot1: Wat Phra That Doi Suthep – The Icon Perched on the mountain overlooking the city, this golden pagoda glows even brighter as the sun dips down. The panoramic view from the terrace? Absolutely breathtaking—you get the whole city spread out below you 🌿 Spot2: Wat Suan Dok – The Sleeper Hit Okay, this one surprised me. Just a 10-minute drive from the Old City, Wat Suan Dok (Temple of the Flower Garden) delivers stunning sunset shots without the mountain climb. The contrast is chef's kiss—bright white mausoleums of Lanna royalty against a massive golden chedi, with Doi Suthep Mountain as the backdrop. 🌅Spot3 CHIANG MAI PAO PARK – THE LOCAL SUNSET HIDDEN GEM PAO Park is the sunset spot tourists don't know about. No crowds. No entrance fee. Just green grass, mountain views, and that perfect golden light. I showed up at 5 PM. Stayed until dark. Didn't want to leave.Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organization Public Park (PAO Park for short) is the city's best-kept secret for golden hour .While tourists crowd Doi Suthep, locals come here to unwind. Rolling green hills, a serene pond, and jaw-dropping mountain views—all just 20 minutes from the Old City. The evening light hits the mountains and everything turns golden . #sunsetplaces #chaingmai #travel2026

Farm Story is a charming little cafe tucked away in the Baan Kang Wat project, offering a wonderfully warm and welcoming vibe. Surrounded by lush greenery and miniature gardens, the space feels cool and shaded with plenty of cozy corners to relax and snap photos. It's the perfect spot to unwind, enjoy a sweet treat, or slowly sip a drink. What we love most is the simple beauty of the place—from the earthy tones and the aroma of freshly baked goods to the peaceful atmosphere. Staring out at the greenery makes you feel instantly relaxed. If you're looking for a chill cafe in Chiang Mai, Farm Story at Baan Kang Wat is a must-visit for some quiet, soul-healing time. 🌿🍰☕

I wasn't really sure whether to call Baan Kang Wat a market, an artist village or simply a collection of very creative little shops. It's probably somewhere between all three. You walk into this leafy little space and there are artists selling ceramics, prints, clothes, handmade pieces and all sorts of things that you probably weren't planning to buy before you arrived. I actually preferred that it wasn't laid out like a conventional shopping area. You could browse one tiny studio, walk through a garden, stop somewhere for coffee and then find another completely different shop around the corner. It also showed me a side of Chiang Mai that made a lot of sense after spending more time in the city. There's a surprisingly strong creative scene here, but it doesn't feel overly polished or commercial. Baan Kang Wat was quiet enough that I could actually look around without feeling rushed, speak to some of the people running the stores and just spend an afternoon wandering. I wouldn't come here with a shopping list — the fun is really in seeing what people are making and occasionally finding something unusual enough to convince you that you suddenly need it. #mytravelwrap #thailand #thingstodo #chiangmai #travel2026 #afternoonteatime

The Barista Asian Style café in Chiang Mai is a beautiful spot with an entrance fee of 80 baht, which can be used as a discount for purchasing drinks at full price. The interior is stunning, featuring multiple garden setups and various seating zones to choose from. However, it might get crowded here. The drink menu is renowned for its matcha offerings, including coconut matcha 💯, orange matcha, and strawberry matcha, all with a delightful and balanced taste. Some drinks are served in charming ceramic cups, adding to the aesthetic appeal. Address: Chiang Mai Opening hours: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM 🥰

#ChiangmaiTravel 🍪 Hello Indy Trip, this is another white-toned coffee shop that has been open for quite a while. The shop is decorated in a simple, minimalist style, but the photos will definitely come out beautiful. 🍵 The menu has both tea, coffee, and soda juices that have been adjusted and mixed to be delicious. The shop also has homemade desserts for you to choose from. 🥨 FLAT is located on Sriwichai Road 4, behind One Plus Suan Dok Condo 1-2. Enter via Suan Dok Temple. There is convenient parking. It is a newly opened cafe that has only been open for a few days. The atmosphere is simple. The shop is minimalist with the structure of the pillars and light and shadow. 🍶 The interior of the shop is simply decorated in white tones. There are small pairs of chairs. I ordered a hot mocha, flash white, and carrot cake. The shop was kind and gave me a glass of iced green tea to try. The coffee tasted good. The desserts were delicious. The service was good. It was relaxing. In the late afternoon, there were a lot of people. 🍮 If you like white, minimalist cafes, I would like to recommend another newly opened cafe, FLAT Cafe, a minimalist glasshouse cafe. 🍨 Sitting here makes you feel airy. Airy and not stuffy. Most importantly, the photos come out very beautiful. Most importantly, this shop opens very early, suitable for people who like to receive morning light because the morning sunlight will enter the shop just right. Famous noodle shop, Soi Wat Umong 🍜 ✨ This shop is located not far from Wat Umong. It is an ordinary zinc shop, but the taste is extraordinary. 🍜 The shop has both Khao Soi, Waterfall Noodles, Stewed Pork, Stewed Beef, and Nam Ngiao Noodles. I ordered every menu. Let me tell you, it was so delicious that I had to order two bowls. The Khao Soi had a rich and delicious taste. The Waterfall Noodles had soft noodles and lots of toppings. The price is not expensive. It's really worth it. ⏰ Open daily from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. 📍111 Moo 10, Suthep Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province #Chiang Mai Review #Chiang Mai Travel #Thailand #Recommend Delicious Restaurants

Secret noodle shop behind Chiang Mai University This shop is the best. It has been here for a long time but I just got to eat here. The shop is in a small alley before reaching Rai Mae Hia. The shop serves noodles and a la carte dishes (open every Monday-Tuesday). The waterfall noodles/tom yum are very delicious. Starting price is only 40 baht and you get a lot. *Secret menu* Bone soup (only 2 cups per day!!) I don't want to tell you🥹 You get a lot for only 45 baht. They also sell water or you can serve yourself water for free! If you are coming, I recommend coming around 11.30 because otherwise you will have to wait in line for a long time because it is very crowded. #Chiang Mai attractions #Chiang Mai reviews #Delicious restaurants #Recommend delicious restaurants

🏡 Unclekani, a small restaurant near Nimmanhaemin, is both a restaurant and a cafe with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Inside, there are about four tables and a bar counter. Their specialty is "meat🥩." If you're a beef lover, this is a must-try. They offer both Thai and Australian beef. 🧆 A recommended dish is the Beef and Soy Sauce Egg Rice. The rice is stir-fried with beef fat, enhancing the aroma. It pairs perfectly with the beef, and the soy sauce egg makes it even more delicious. Another dish we ordered was the Australian Ribeye Steak, cooked medium rare. Just sprinkle it with salt and pepper and it's absolutely delicious! 🍗 If you don't eat beef, don't worry! They also offer other dishes like grilled marinated pork, salmon, and salads. Drinks and desserts are also available. 😃 If you're in Chiang Mai and looking for a restaurant with a great atmosphere, drinks, and a full range of food, this is the place to go. P.S. Since the restaurant only has 4 tables and 5 bar seats, we recommend booking via the restaurant's Facebook inbox. ❤️ 📍 Uncle Kani 🗺 Map: 29 Sukkasem Road, Suthep Subdistrict, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai 50200 🚗: Parking is available along the road in front of the restaurant. 🕚: Open 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM #unclekani #unclekani #chiangmaicafe #chiangmairestaurant #beefrice #chiangmai #thailand #Sony #sonyalpha #sonya6000 #Sonythailand #nrintravel #papdiawdiawmaa #chiangmaiattractions

The a la carte food is very delicious. There are many menus to choose from. The amount of food is very filling. The price is cheap and affordable. The price is very friendly. The service is good. There is wifi. The bathroom is okay. If you want to eat, you have to leave some time because there are a lot of customers at noon. Somdejya Health Park or CMU Health Park is a public area for exercising near the university. The atmosphere is good, surrounded by various trees, very shady. Inside the exercise park, there are many exercise machines. It is divided into bases, starting with warm-up and stretching. Each base has a sign teaching how to play each equipment. Or if you are a runner, you can run around the exercise park. Plus, this place also tells you the distance. In addition to the health park, you can also exercise in front of the auditorium. Running or playing badminton is very enjoyable. I personally like to come in the morning. The atmosphere is very good. There are a lot of trees here, making it shady and not hot. The Baristro Asian Style is another cafe in Chiang Mai that makes us want to go back again. We went to read the information and originally it was just an old wooden house that was renovated into a cafe. But we think that's not the point. The point is the perfect combination of the Asian Style theme. It's modern and mixed with Asian style. The shop is beautiful and you can take pictures from every angle. And in terms of drinks, we think The Baristro has done a good job, especially this branch. They added something that can compensate for missing Japan very well, which is tea. We'd like you to stop by and have a light cup of tea. There are many types of green tea to choose from and many menus. We think it will please those who love cafes and love green tea 🌱 like us. As for dessert, we recommend the Salted Caramel Cheesecake, sweet and oozing caramel inside. The shop has many zones and a large area. There are both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned. The shop is in the alley behind Chiang Mai University. There is parking on the side of the road in front of the shop. You have to buy a ticket for 80 baht per person that can be used as a coupon to buy food or drinks. You have to pay extra for the difference. 😁 #Cafe with a comfortable atmosphere #Beautiful cafe to tell others

Flat Cafe, a beautiful, simple, minimalist style café For cafe lovers, if you go to this shop, you will definitely fall in love. The cafe is in white tones, clean everywhere you look. Just seeing it makes you feel comfortable, wanting to go in and chill out. FLAT café is a new café that is currently being talked about, located in Chiang Mai city, near Wat Suan Dok. Judging from its popularity, no matter what social media you open, you will see people checking in here, taking pictures of the shop, taking pictures of desserts and drinks. Just seeing the pictures makes us feel that the shop is very beautiful and worth visiting. The shop's building is beautiful, unique, like a glass cabinet. The decoration looks simple but very charming. There are both indoor and outdoor seating areas. I like that the shop looks spacious and airy. Even though it is small, it is not cramped because the surroundings are glass. There is light shining all around, making it bright. I like the shop that has glass walls because at least if you don't know what you are looking at or are shy with the people you come with, you can turn to look at the view outside. Haha. The shop is located on Siwichai Road, the alley behind Wat Suan Dok. There is parking available, so don't worry. #LifeAddictedToCafe #Chiang Mai Cafe 📌 FLAT Café 18 Srivichai Road, Soi 4, Suthep Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Mai Opening-Closing Time: 08.00-17.00 hrs.

"Taste Cafe" is a small coffee shop with quality. The shop is simply decorated and looks spacious and comfortable to the eyes. Just opening the door, I immediately felt older. The atmosphere is like a coffee shop in a university. There are only children sitting, chatting, and reading books in the shop. The barista also looks young. The shop uses domestic coffee beans, focusing on the North. The coffee is very cheap. Espresso 40 baht, Latte 55 baht, the latte has a mild taste, easy to drink, not much hidden flavor, delicious but not too strong. Not really impressive. Ordered a Latte without sugar 55 baht, topped with milk foam, smooth in the mouth. There are a few snacks, just enough to stick to the tip of the gloves, but didn't try them. The young people at the counter were always smiling and cheerful. When I met the female barista, I got a sweet feeling, different from the serious-looking male baristas in coffee shops. To sum it up, it's good, worth a try. The coffee is delicious, very cheap, very worthwhile. They also sell coffee beans. Hot drinks are good, cold drinks are good. The atmosphere is comfortable, suitable for sitting and drinking coffee. #Chiang Mai Cafe #Cafe Life

Cafe No.39 Cafe Chiang Mai, a chill and relaxing atmosphere serving a variety of drinks and food. The view has a natural pond and trees, and many photo spots. There are many places to sit and eat and check in. Each spot has different angles to choose from to take photos because the view is so beautiful. Around the shop, there is a pond and a high viewpoint, so you can get beautiful photos. There is live music every weekend. I personally like the croissants a lot.
