If you like inns, you should visit one of Japan's most spectacular hot spring inns ♨️ Lamp no Yado, located at the very tip of the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa ♪ This inn is located on a cliff that used to be only accessible by boat, giving it a sense of remoteness. From the inn, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Sea of Japan without any obstructions! There is an open-air bath with an ocean view, as well as an infinity pool ♪ The food is also excellent, allowing you to fully enjoy the bounty of Hokuriku 🥢 I definitely want to go back! #luxuryhotel #hotelwithspectacles #hotspringryokan #hotspring

I went to "Tarumi Falls" in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture (((((((っ･ω･)っ A rare waterfall with a drop of 35m that falls directly from the mountain to the sea٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶ It is also known as "Fukiage Falls" and on days when the strong sea breeze blows in the harsh winter, the waterfall defies gravity and starts to rise towards the sky, and sometimes shoots up into the sky as it isΣ( °-° )Wow The sea is so clear that you can see the bottom of the sea and it's so beautiful✿ﾟ❀.(*´▽`*)❀.ﾟ✿ 🏍Tarumi Falls🏍 Address: Sonogi, Machino-cho, Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture Opening hours: 24 hours #Domestic travel#Ishikawa #Ishikawa Prefecture #Ishikawa trip #Ishikawa sightseeing #Ishikawa spot #Tarumi Falls #Waterfall #Waterfall tour

Since the Art Triennale in Echigo-Tsumari in 2000, regional art festivals have successfully blossomed all over Japan. This year, they are even more colorful, with Art Triennale taking place in various parts of Japan and even in Taiwan. This year's Okunoto International Art Festival is one of the flowers blooming everywhere, and it is also the fourth art festival he has curated. Although there are art festivals worth seeing everywhere in Japan, I particularly like to appreciate the ones curated by Tomio Kitagawa, because I was moved by his original concept of curating Echigo. He hopes to use art to reconnect people with each other, people with nature, people with the land, and the concept of sustainable living in the mountains and seas. Compared to Echigo-Tsumari, Setouchi and Northern Alps, Oku-Noto has the best transportation arrangements. The organizers have arranged four different bus tour routes, departing from Suzu, to visit 37 works, divided into two shifts in the morning and afternoon, which means that all the works can be visited in just two days (except for performing arts projects). As a traveler, planning this trip was much easier than the past three, and it would only take two days. The coastline of Noto Peninsula is a holiday paradise. If you drive around, you can get to know the peninsula more deeply. Unfortunately, this time I mainly used public transportation. After participating in a two-day bus tour, I couldn’t find a homestay to rent, so I had to leave Suzu and return to Kanazawa in a hurry. I only participated in the art festival and visited Suzu and Noto Peninsula in a cursory manner. It was a pity. Among the 37 works, some are very impressive. The coastline of the Noto Peninsula is very beautiful. For someone like me who loves the coastline and the ocean, it feels wonderful to look for land art along the coastline. Under such a magnificent sea and sky, artist Takashi Fukasawa built a torii with garbage from the coast, telling how humans are destroying our own homes. This beach house is also a creative space! When I first stopped the car, I saw a small house by the sea and thought I could use it for my creations. I walked into the house and looked at the sea from the window. I was completely attracted by the beautiful Sea of Japan. Then I saw a model of a small house made of shells in a small corner of the house. I began to admire it! Walking outside and taking a closer look, it turns out that Japanese artist Murao used thousands of shells and plaster powder to transform this cottage into a shell house overlooking the sea. It is all handmade, a very beautiful creative landscape! We came to Mitsuke Coast, a resort on the Noto Peninsula. Mitsuke Island is a small island about 500 meters from the coast. The Japanese piled up stone roads for tourists to walk to the island. This small stone road looks like it was built artificially, but in geography there is also a similar landform called a sandbar. Chinese artist Liu Jianhua used coastal garbage to imitate the topography of the island sandbar and created Drifting landscape. On the Awazu Beach on the east coast of the Noto Peninsula, there is a work by Japanese artist Masanori Koyama called "The Floating God at the End". In the Noto Peninsula, whales and old ships are considered auspicious objects, and the artist combined the two in his creation. The author used old ships and wood carvings to symbolize whales, and the entire creation symbolizes Japanese shrines and torii gates. The author placed a wooden sculpture of a mermaid inside the bow of the boat. The author extended the mermaid's hair all the way to the beach. When I turned around at the bow to take a look, I was really a little scared. #Japan #Overseas Travel #Art Festival #Noto Peninsula #Return to the Countryside #Suzu #Art Journey

📍 Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine, Takamori, Aso, Kumamoto, Japan Hidden deep inside the lush forests of Minami-Aso, Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine feels like stepping into another world. 🌿⛩️ The approach to the shrine is what makes this place so special. A long stone staircase winds through tall cedar trees, with nearly 100 moss-covered stone lanterns lining the path. As you walk deeper into the forest, the atmosphere becomes quieter and more mysterious, creating an almost cinematic feeling. At the top, you’ll find the peaceful shrine surrounded by greenery. The shrine enshrines Izanagi-no-Mikoto, Izanami-no-Mikoto and Ishikimi Daishogun, and is also known for its connection with wishes for happiness and marriage. But the adventure doesn’t end at the shrine. Behind the main hall, a path leads further uphill to Ugetoiwa, a huge sacred rock with a natural opening more than 10 metres across. Local legend says the opening was created when Kihachi broke through the rock while escaping. The unusual formation has become a symbol associated with overcoming difficult obstacles and achieving goals. 📸 Photography Tip: The most atmospheric shots are along the staircase, where the stone lanterns, moss-covered steps and tall cedar trees create a natural frame around the torii gates. Morning light filtering through the trees can make the scene especially beautiful. The shrine is also a fascinating stop for anime and manga fans, as it became known as a setting associated with Hotarubi no Mori e (Into the Forest of Fireflies). ✨ Travel Tip: Wear comfortable shoes. The approach involves a long flight of stone steps, and the path beyond the shrine toward Ugetoiwa can be unpaved and slippery, especially after rain. For a Kyushu road trip, this is an amazing place to combine with Aso, Takachiho Gorge and the surrounding Minami-Aso area. It is quiet, atmospheric and completely different from the major tourist attractions in central Japan. Sometimes the most memorable places aren’t the biggest or most famous — they’re the ones hidden deep in the forest. 🌿⛩️❤️ #KamishikimiKumanoimasusu #Kamishikimi #Kumamoto #Aso #MinamiAso #Kyushu #JapanTravel #JapanTrip #JapanPhotography #JapaneseShrine #HiddenJapan #ExploreJapan #KyushuTravel

#easytravelpost Mitsukejima (also called "Battleship Rock") is the 28 m tall turtle-shaped sea stack off the Noto Peninsula's west coast, in Ishikawa Prefecture. The mossy rocky shore is the intertidal zone at the base of the stack—reachable only at low tide—where Hedwigia and Grimmia grow on the wave-battered rhyolite, and Enteromorpha green algae fringes the splash zone. I took the JR Nanao Line to Wakura Onsen, then a Noto Railway to Noto-Kashima Station (1,200 JPY, IC card), then a 15-minute walk to the shore. No entrance fee, no permit, but the tide window is strict—check the JMA tide table before going. The mossy section is the north-side rock shelf that stays damp from the constant spray: Sphagnum in the rock pools (yes, even at the sea edge, fed by freshwater seeps), Racomitrium on the wind-exposed rhyolite, and Pogonatum on the driftwood logs. I went late April—shore 16°C, rock surface 11°C, moss wet from the morning high tide. Wore approach shoes with sticky rubber; the rhyolite is barnacle-sharp and slick. Mistake: I arrived at high tide—the mossy shelf was underwater, I waited 3 hours for the drop. Check tide before you leave Wakura. Second mistake: I didn't bring 500 JPY cash for the nearby senbei (rice cracker) shop's fresh-baked crackers—card zero, and the shop closes at 4 p.m. Third: I climbed onto the stack's lower ledge for a photo—a local fisherman shouted "dangerous, wave comes fast", I scrambled down as a 2 m swell hit 30 seconds later. Respect the ocean. Buy in Nanao: a 350 JPY noto-beef skewer at the station market, not the 1,800 JPY sushi set. Gear: a 2,500 JPY windbreaker—Noto coast wind is 10 m/s steady. Local rule: no drone (Noto coast has fishing restrictions, police enforce), no climbing the stack (it's a protected natural monument, 50,000 JPY fine), no collecting the wakame in the tidal pools (local harvest). The moss on the rhyolite is the island's only terrestrial life—don't crush it. The 2024 Noto earthquake damaged roads; check the Ishikawa prefecture website for current access—some coastal routes are still one-lane. Opinion: Mitsukejima is a 5-minute photo stop for most, but the mossy intertidal shelf is a 3-hour low-tide exploration. Should the town mark the safe tide-window with a bilingual sign and install a 100 JPY honor box for shore upkeep, or leave it unmarked? I'd sign and box it. Would you time your entire trip to a 2-hour low-tide window for a mossy sea-stack shore?

#bucketlistdestinations Mitsukejima, a 28-meter rock island off the Noto Peninsula, is a mossy sentinel in the Sea of Japan. I took the JR Hokuriku Line to Kanazawa Station (¥3,000 from Tokyo), then the 2-hour bus to Mitsukejima (¥1,500, IC cards accepted). The Mitsukejima Coastal Trail is a 2-km loop along the rocky shore, where moss grows on the basalt columns. The trail is free, but the bus costs ¥1,500 each way. I hiked in May, when the moss was emerald from spring rains. The rocks are slippery—I wore trail runners and slipped once; hiking boots with good grip are essential. Mistake: I didn’t bring a windbreaker—big mistake. The Sea of Japan wind is cold, even in May. Bring ¥2,000 cash for the bus and a kaki(oyster) lunch at a local seafood stall (cash only). Kindness beat: A local fisherman gave me a fresh kakistraight from his boat, saying “umi no megumi, moss ga mamoru” (the sea’s bounty, the moss protects). Is a rocky shore more beautiful because of the moss, or does the moss make the sea’s edge a place of quiet resilience?

Rokkosaki Lighthouse, located at the northernmost tip of the Noto Peninsula, is a spectacular spot known for watching the sun rise over the sea and sink into the ocean. The chalk-white lighthouse stands out against the blue waters, resembling a Mediterranean cape, and is popular for its photogenic beauty. Selected as one of Japan's 50 Best Lighthouses, this lighthouse was built in the Meiji era with British-style stonework. It still lights up automatically, making it a romantic spot where you can enjoy the sunset in the evening and the starry sky at night. There is also a stone monument nearby that reads, "The heart of Japan is here," making it perfect for commemorative photos. 📌 Useful Information Address: I-51 Noroshi-cho, Suzu City, Ishikawa Prefecture Access: Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes by car from Noto Satoyama Airport / Approximately 5 minutes by car from the Sacred Cape Admission Fee: Free (Interior of the lighthouse is closed to the public) Parking: Available (approximately 10 minutes on foot) Nearby Facilities: Roadside Station Noroshi offers snacks and souvenirs The "end of Noto," where you can see both sunrise and sunset. Summer is the perfect time for a spontaneous, fresh Japanese-style trip with your significant other! 🌈 This "skewer-style" trip with my girlfriend Vira was absolutely amazing, covering everything from sunflower fields to seaside stations, from railway ruins to strawberry farms, capturing all the hidden gems of Japan~ 🌻【Shrine Sunflower Field Blast】 📍Muko Shrine (Muko City, Kyoto Prefecture) The summer-only sunflower fields are made for Instagram! The golden blooms from July to August are stunning. We recommend wearing a light-colored dress with a straw hat. The shrine’s goshuin book even has an exclusive, super cute design. 🌊【Must-Visit Beach Stations】 1️⃣ JR Shioya Station (Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture) Known as the "station closest to the sea," you can see Awaji Island right from the platform! Best to visit at sunset. There’s a seaside café inside the station that’s super romantic. 2️⃣ Old Noto Railway Iida Station Ruins (Suzu City, Ishikawa Prefecture) The abandoned tracks stretch straight into the Sea of Japan, accompanied by the soothing sound of shell wind chimes—super healing. 🚞【Railway Enthusiast’s Paradise】 1️⃣ Railway Museum (Saitama City) Limited edition train models plus real trains on display. Even my girlfriend said it was more fun than she expected! The second-floor railway bento exhibition will make your mouth water... 2️⃣ JR Kushimoto Station (Kushimoto Town, Wakayama Prefecture) Blue sea and sky with a red station sign. In front of the station is a popular local whale-shaped monument. Don’t forget to buy Kushimoto taiyaki as a souvenir. 🍓【Sweet Picking Experience】 Miura Strawberry Farm (Bungo-ono City, Oita Prefecture) You don’t have to go to Hokkaido to enjoy strawberry picking! June to July is the last picking season. Be sure to try the farm’s homemade strawberry daifuku. 📸【Top Photo Spots】 ➡️ Tottori Sand Dunes: Recommended to shoot at dawn or dusk for a magical contrast between desert and sea. ➡️ Ikema Bridge: A must-visit jellyfish sea viewpoint on Miyako Island, with a dedicated photo platform on the bridge. ➡️ HANAHASU Park: A lotus flower secret spot in Fukui Prefecture, where you can see rare three-colored lotuses in July. 💡Useful Tips ✅ JR West Pass is super handy; it covers basically all these stations. ✅ WILD Beach has shower facilities (inside Kisarazu Seaside Park). ✅ Remember to bring sunscreen spray in summer; sand dunes and beaches are especially easy to get sunburned. ✅ Some farms require reservations (like the strawberry farm). Finally, a recommendation for the hidden gem hotel we stayed at: Osaka Karakusa Select Hotel. Super convenient transportation and even a laundry room! Before heading back, we also stopped by Nagai Botanical Garden’s teamLab exhibition. The light and flower sea was the perfect ending to this trip!

Noto Peninsula is a park that mainly features the sea cliff scenery on the northwest coast of the peninsula, commonly known as Sotoura, and the submerged coastal scenery on the southeast coast, known as Uchiura. It is peaceful and quiet, and time flows slowly everywhere. The scenery of the waves crashing against the reefs is just like the Sea of Japan. If you go further, you will find Rokkozaki Lighthouse. This is the tip of the Noto Peninsula. It is about a 10-minute walk from the parking lot of "Roadside Station Noroi". A beautiful panorama of both the sky and the sea spreads out before you.
