Jonker Street @ Melaka
#malaysia Jonker Street comes to life as the sun sets slowly. Many streets vendor will start to set up the stalls in the evening. Come to the market with an empty stomach and enjoy a variety of food! Many seating areas for individual stalls as well.
Brown sugar or gula melaka is a local souvenir to buy from the area. There are also many local souvenir biscuits shops near the entrance of the street. My favourite is the “三叔公” shop. I enjoy the peanut butter waffle biscuits from the stall.
There are also many shops selling clothes and toys. I would describe the area as a upsize or upgraded night market.
ohh~ there are also interesting trishaws rides around too. Hope on to any if you are tired and need to give your legs a break:D

Best Lemonade In Jonker Street.
Mixue is always my favorite place to regain my hydration moment especially during hot afternoons in Melacca. I always like to get a cup of fresh ice Lemonade during the hot weather. The place is chill and I always love to hangout with my friends over here with my favorite Lemonade drink. Besides its top seller Lemonade, other beverages are also nice and refreshing. Their ice cream also is a top pick item during the hot afternoon time.

Hangouts are always places for beverages like coffee, tea and juice. The Daily Fix is a choice with a vintage environment under a peranakan heritage building to hangout with friends and families, especially during afternoon time. The cafe not only serves food and beverages, the whole environment makes us relax and joyful while gathering with friends.
The chill environment in the cafe is worth hanging out with by spending quality time with my friends and families.

Jonker Street Night Walk
A popular place to visit in melacca is the junker Street in melaka, Malaysia located at Jalan Hang Jebat, 75200 Melaka. You will notice if you go in the daylight and after sunset the difference, as during the day this place is crowded with cars and people at times there will even be a traffic jam due to the narrow one way streets of jonker. But in the night its a whole new different story.
If you do want to take nice photos of the architectural structure without cars and the people, definitely recommended to go at night. It's peace and quiet accept when the jonker night mark opens on weekends. You will be able to see the Chinese architectures mixed with pernanakan influence dating all the way back to the 17th centuries.
Also, don't forget to try one of these chendol stores that open late, I can't really remember the name but it's one of the very few stores that stays open.

The City of Malacca!
I visited #malacca way back and by far it is one of the cities I visited that made a lasting impression. I love the laidback city life of Malacca. The place we stayed was just beside the upside down house. the people there are so friendly. When you go to Malacca you’ve got to visit #jonkerstreet and try out the street foods! mostly everything is inexpensive compared to Singapore so get ready with spending more than what you have expected but of course you’ll have more items as well. take grab for transpo, it is way cheaper than just hailing a cab. the local food is really good and do visit #afamosa it’s a very interesting place! #donnahtheexplorer #malaysia #malacca #travelwhileyoucan
Delicious Seafood at Jonker Night Market
There is a hawker street section at Jonker Night Market selling delicious seafood varieties. Decided to try the half-boiled cockles & stir fried spicy garlic lalas, even though there were other plenty of options available. The lalas is the bomb. It was so garlicy & spiciness was just right. Cockles were not bad too. The dipping sauce for it was quite interesting, it was chilli mixed with peanuts.
There is a big outdoor seating area, it was quite breezy & not stuffy as it is away from the woks. However, you need to purchase at least a drink from the drinks stall as the outdoor space belongs to them.
You can also buy other food from other stalls & bring it to the table to enjoy.

Probably the best Nyonya Laksa in Malacca
This is the best Nyonya Laksa I've eaten in Malacca. I was there to explore Jonker Street Night Market at 6pm & saw this stall with quite a number of people eating the Nyonya laksa & it does look appetising to me. So I grabbed a seat & ordered one. And I have no complaints about it. The gravy is thick, flavour is there & best part is, it costs only RM7. Cockles in the laksa was very fresh too. Their Chendol (RM5) was also very nice. Better than others I've eaten in Malacca. Sadly, I doubt it is open in the day. It seems like it is only there when the night market starts. Do not miss this stall if you are a Laksa lover.

Cosy Budget Hotel Near Jonker Street
Hotel Hong is a small budget hotel but definitely worth the price. Room was basic & clean. It is located 5mins away from Jonker street/night market, which is very convenient.
There is water filter provided for you to fill up your bottles. They even provide 3in1 coffee & cups, you can make some coffee if you wish.
Reception staff & Ladyboss May was very nice & friendly too.
They also provide free shuttle service during weekdays. You have to ask them about it.
However, the hotel is located opposite a Mosque, so in the early morning you will be able to hear the prayers.
Overall, it was a good stay here. Will definitely recommend if you are looking for a budget stay near Jonker Street.

Awesome Dim Sum
Was taking a morning walk around our hotel area when we saw this small coffee shop at the corner. Decided to try their dim sum and really did not regret the decision. Their Shrimp Sui Mai was so good that we ordered a second serving of it. Their Xiao Long Bao’s soup taste so rich and so different from those high end places. Chicken Sui Mai was another great choice. You can really see the chicken shreds inside the Sui Mai after taking half a bite from it. The people that ran the place are very friendly also. Highly recommended to try if you are in Jonker Area.#jonkerstreet

Jonker Street's Enchanting Experience!
#wheretogo #nightmarket #jonkerstreet #malacca
My recent visit to Jonker Street Night Market was nothing short of magical. As the sun set, this vibrant street transformed into a bustling kaleidoscope of colors, scents, and sounds, offering an enchanting experience for locals and tourists alike.
1. Culinary Delights:
The aroma of delicious street food wafted through the air, tempting my taste buds at every turn. From mouthwatering satay skewers to fragrant noodles, the variety of local delicacies was astounding. Each bite was a flavorful journey, showcasing the rich heritage of Malaysian cuisine.
2. Unique Finds:
Jonker Street's market stalls were a treasure trove of unique and handmade crafts. From traditional batik fabrics to intricately designed souvenirs, the market offered an array of items that beautifully reflected the local culture. Bargaining with friendly vendors added to the excitement of finding the perfect keepsakes.
3. Charming Ambiance:
The ambient glow of lanterns and the chatter of visitors created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Strolling along the cobblestone streets, I felt transported to a different era, where the past seamlessly blended with the present, creating a truly unique ambiance.
4. Community Spirit:
What struck me the most was the sense of community among both sellers and visitors. Locals shared stories about their crafts, and tourists mingled, creating a harmonious environment that added to the market's allure. It felt like more than just a market; it was a gathering of people passionate about preserving their heritage.
In conclusion, Jonker Street Night Market is a must-visit destination for anyone in search of a sensory adventure. Most importantly all the poh piah is freshly made upon order. Besides than poh piah, the shop also serves delicious rojak, nyonya dumpling and laksa.

Coconut ball performance @ Jonker street
Do not miss out the #coconutball performance at #jonkerstreet in #malaka if you are visiting in the night. The night market is generally available after 6pm over the weekends, and it’s getting more crowded after 7pm onwards.
‘The Daily Fix Cafe’ at Lot 55 Jonker street, is one of the most popular cafes in Malaka that serves European fusion food - and because of its popularity, be sure that you have to wait for 30 mins to 45 mins to be seated. Their food are exceptional, especially the pandan pancakes (ps: I do not really enjoy eating any pandan items, but I found these pancakes different) and the avocado gula melaka drink (super shiok) which I really enjoyed!

Must-visit cafe in Malacca! The Daily Cafe
I love cafe-hopping and trying new cafes. But I just had to come back to this one on my return visit to Malacca.
This place is called The Daily Cafe, and if you go at a busy time, there will most likely be a wait. The location is great. It's on Jonker street. The ambiance is nice too.
This cafe is known for their Pandan pancakes and their pandan specialty coffee, both of which you can see in the photos. We also had the beef sandwich which was good, but not something I can finish myself because it feels a bit heavy. Sharing with other people I think is perfect. The pandan coffee is yummy, but a bit too much pandan if you also order the pancakes in my opinion. The pancakes are super fluffy and taste delicious. Very moist, soft and warm. If I get to go again, I do think I'll order the pancakes again along with a new dish to try different things. You should definitely give this place a try if you're in Malacca and want a cool place for decent food and drinks.
