Astonishing architecture atop a mountain!
This hidden gem in Nanjing, Jiangsu offers visitors a memorable trip up Niu Shou Shan (牛首山). Besides magnificent views of Nanjing city from the mountain, you will be greeted by an opulent dome which houses a few levels of Buddha and deities, all meticulously sculpted by skilled craftsmen. Next to the dome is a beautiful Chinese pagoda which allows entry for visitors to catch a bird’s eye view of this marvelous architectural site. Despite being there over a national holiday weekend, the crowd was well controlled and orderly. Tickets to the attraction can be purchased online prior to your visit. Shanghai's 1933 Old Mill: Photography
As a travel blogger, I can say that Shanghai is one of the most intriguing and captivating destinations in the world. While there are plenty of sights and attractions to visit in this vibrant and bustling city, one location that never fails to impress is the 1933老场坊 (1933 Old Millfun).
Address - Located in Hongkou District in Shanghai, 1933老场坊 is a former abattoir turned into a unique building complex. The industrial-style architecture, with its maze-like passages and hidden corners, makes it one of Shanghai's most exciting places to explore.
Highlights - The primary attraction of 1933 Old Millfun is its history. This building was first constructed in 1933 by British architect Balfours, with its modular design and reinforced concrete structure, to serve as an abattoir for the city's rapidly growing population. However, it remained closed for decades until, in 1996, it was opened again as an innovative and unique complex for shopping, dining, and entertainment.
The photography potential of 1933老场坊 is enormous. The architectural elements are simply stunning, making for some fantastic rustic, industrial photos. The complex's labyrinthine layout is perfect for creating intriguing visual narratives that capture the essence of the location.
One of the most remarkable things about 1933 Old Millfun is its sinister aura. The labyrinthine corridors can be intense and unnerving, making it a perfect setting for thrillers, mystery dramas, and horror movies. Many photographers and filmmakers have used this location to create eerie and atmospheric visuals.
Rating - I would rate 1933 Old Millfun a 4.5 out of 5. Though it may not be for everyone, it is an excellent place to visit for those who love to explore and discover new things. It's a perfect location for photography enthusiasts, thrill-seekers, and anyone fascinated with the history of Shanghai.
In conclusion, 1933 Old Millfun. is a true gem in the heart of Shanghai that allows travelers to step back in time and experience the city's rich history. It's a must-visit destination for anyone visiting Shanghai who wants to explore something truly unique and visually captivating.
