Saint Martin Basilica
the basilica was built in 1747, using the space of the former late Romanesque style church, whose presence is already attested in a 1348 scroll preserved in the Chapter of the Basilica.
The oldest church remains today only in the bell tower and part of the sacristy.
The exterior of the Basilica is characterized by the majestic facade, 37 meters high, which is based on the semi-circular staircase, an architectural appeal to look up. It is set on two architectural orders, whose decorative elements, carved in local stone and arranged in a harmonious and dynamic game of ledges and recesses, are emphasized by the elegant sculptural core group representing St. Martin giving his cloak to the Poor, by Joseph Morgese, Martina’s civic art masterpiece.
The interior of the Basilica, vast and bright, has a Latin cross. In the presbytery, under the triumphal arch designed by Gennaro Sammartino, there is a precious marble altar (1773) designed by Giuseppe Sammartino, author of the Veiled Christ in Naples in the Sansevero Chapel, to guard the sculpture of the town’s patron saint, San Martin of Tours, made of stone in the sixteenth century’s early decades by Stefano da Putignano.

Summer kimono experience in Japan 🇯🇵
Wearing "Yukata" (casual summer kimono) is definitely a must-do in Japan! You can find kimono rental shops near famous spots. It will take time to pick out your favorite kimono, so you go there early. It also takes about 30 minutes to get dressed up and get your hair done. Don't worry, a kimono specialist will help you.
This place is the famous Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. It is famous for its thousand vermillon gates. We were wearing "geta" (wooden footwear) so it was impossible for us to finish the hike!
Don't miss this place when you visit! Enjoy!

Seize the day in Yila Prairie/Napa Lake
In this beautiful scenery, we’re able to wear the traditional clothes of the local people. Tibetan clothing features unique design and styles, bearing silent witness to their rich culture and history.
Tibetan robe is the most common clothing for Tibetan people. Generally speaking, it is characterized by big garment front, long sleeves, loose waist, and a large lapel. The Tibetan robes are rimmed with pulu, silk or other leather laces at the collar, cuff, front edge and lower hem.
The robes are very long, which need to be pulled up at the waist and tied with band. If it is hot, the wearer can bare his/her right arm or both arms.

An old town in Yingde
📍 Yingde county, Qingyuan city, Guangdong province.
🚌 Take a bus from Guangzhou East Railway station.
💁🏼♀️ The city is on the Bei River, a tributary of the Pearl River
🕐 This small historical town is far from Yingde city center around an hour by bus and around 40 minutes by car.
🎢 There are not attractions or shopping malls or restaurants around. It’s a small traditional town with small shops you can find especially local black tea. Since Yingde is famous as the land of Chinese black tea. ☕️ I bought gifts for my family and now it’s my dad’s favorite tea.

Gorgeous Hakka dance
Hakka culture is very prominent in the South of China and the Guangdong provinces. From their old architecture of their buildings, to their way of living, and to their very enchanting and colorful dance routines. I've seen a really nice presentation of Hakka dance in Gold Water cave in Yangshuo. ❤️
Men and women dressed up in those colorful traditional costume, dancing to the beat of the sound of those big size drums. Some of them were chanting while the others do the choreography gracefully. My eyes were full. 😍😍😍
Ticket price is 15rmb.

Communitarian Tourism: Visit Dota
Costa Rica is not only well known for its nature but amazing community life you can experience in traditional towns. Specially, coffee towns ☕️.
Dota is a very special county, not only its located at the foothills of Talamanca (highest mountain range ⛰), 1.5 hours from capital San Jose, has an amazing natural forest (San Gerardo de Dota area), but also is one of the popular coffee areas in the country.
Santa María de Dota, county head town, is a traditional town. In Costa Rica, the church is always one of the most representative buildings in any town/city. This town has a museum for preservation of their cultural heritage, and had made efforts to keep a traditional lifestyle to attract tourists (national and international). During our visit, it was nice to see homes decorated with ox cars or maintaining their traditional architecture.
Santa María is also very close to the Quetzals National Park, ideal for birds watching, sightseeing and definitely hiking tours. San Gerardo de Dota is called a magic cloudy forest land, but can be farther than expected. Definitely a place I want to visit when return home.

Hidden traditional village
Xinye Village, or in Chinese it’s read as Xinyecun, is located in western Zhejiang Province, in the. The village is traditional and very untouched by tourists who come to visit, making it very special place. If you visit, you can also stay in one of the homestay available within this traditional village, so you will wake up in the morning with this view! Xinye is also known for holding ancestor worship ceremonies on the annual Shangsi Festival, but unfortunately when I visited, it wasn’t being held. You must definitely visit this place because unlike many traditional villages which is being overcrowded with tourists nowadays, this one is good for a relaxing and quiet atmosphere ⛅️🌟🏘 #solstice #urbanexplorer #traditionalculture #summervacation #hikingtrails #oldvillage #chinatravel

Eating under the light of lanterns
Jiuyu Xintangkou is a Chinese restaurant located in B1 of Aegean shopping mall. This restaurant has a very traditional ambience. The lanterns hanging from the ceiling, wood furniture and stone-like decor brings you back in time.
Hotpot 🍲 big dishes with rice or noodles seems just right. Maybe not the best option for a hot summer day, but perfect for a rainy day and any other season. Better to visit in groups (>3 people), if not you will end with a big bowl you can’t finish. Specially if you want to try more than one dish.
For summer, even a soup taste nice with a cold beer, not very “traditional” though. Fish is always a nice option. If not, juice or soda is always available.

Best restaurant in Shigu, Lijiang
If you are around the Stone Drum Lashi village, Shigu, there’s a restaurant you should definitely try. Wang Nang restaurant focuses on traditional cuisine from Southwest China. It is located next to main park door, very near the riverbank (for an after-meal walk).
This restaurant has not only a beautiful decoration and rustic ambience, varies indoors/outdoors, but its dishes include traditional Yunnan and Sichuan flavors. In Yunnan, pork is the most popular meat, and you can get many different preparations ranging non-spicy to Sichuan spicy (🌶 🌶 🌶 🌶 ) level. Rice is served in traditional wood bowl, and delicious Chinese bread is complementary.
A popular dish is the traditional Naxi blood rice sausage (lower dish, second pic), made with rice, pork blood, spices and flour. Relatively similar to morcilla and other blood sausages. This dish is part of the cultural history of Naxi minority, can be found around Lijiang, some of their preparation includes wine.

Welcome to the best Hanok Village I’ve ever seen in Korea: Jeonju Hanok Village. Located in the west-center of South Korea, this village counts with more than 700 traditional houses. The city is modernized but this area remains in the past, and it’s perfect to wear traditional dress, buy some souvenirs and get some good merchandise in their different stores. Add this city to your list when visiting Korea, you won’t regret it.
