The Selimiye Mosque at the heart of Konya...
Located next to the Mevlana Museum.
Construction began in 1558 when Sultan Selim was ruling Konya and was completed in 1567.
It is one of the most beautiful examples of classical Ottoman architecture in Konya.
The atmosphere is similar to the Fatih Mosque in Istanbul.
The space covered by the central dome has been expanded with a half-dome on one side.
The mosque interior, which has a narthex with seven domes and two minarets, is decorated with fine pen work.
The museum area is quite spacious as it is a place to be visited together.
