Trip Moments Recommendations
Traveling to Shanghai is easier than you think!!
Inviting you to visit the popular tourist city of Shanghai 🇨🇳
💕 The first impression is that traveling in Shanghai and nearby cities is extremely convenient. The subway fare is very cheap, only 3-4 yuan, and taxi fares are not expensive. If you are traveling with 2-3 people, we recommend taking a taxi because sometimes the subway seems close, but sometimes you have to walk a considerable distance within the station. The maglev train from Pudong Airport to downtown takes only 8 minutes.
🍜 Food - Delicious and reasonably priced, with a wide selection to choose from. We especially love the grilled meat skewers sprinkled with spicy Mala seasoning. The curry over rice is also inexpensive and comes in large portions. We really like the variety of tea drinks, with Chagee being our favorite for its authentic tea taste 🧋
🚅 Transportation - The main mode of transportation is by subway, which covers the entire city of Shanghai. If you're traveling nearby, you might try cycling for some excitement, but if you're not very confident on a bike, we don't recommend cycling in Shanghai as sometimes motorcycles share the same lane and it can be dangerous. Inter-city travel is also very easy, with high-speed trains available to nearby cities at very cheap ticket prices, which can be booked via trip.
🏨 Hotels - We recommend staying in downtown Shanghai, choosing hotels not far from a subway station, within a walking distance of no more than 400 meters, near People's Square or East Nanjing Rd. At night, you can visit The Bund, and even after the subway has closed, you can walk back to your hotel. If you stay at a hotel near the green subway line, you can go directly to the airport.
🏯 Attractions - Must-visit attractions include The Bund, Shanghai Tower, Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, Shanghai Museum, Yuyuan Garden, Xintiandi Pedestrian Street, Jing'an Temple, Jade Buddha Temple, Yuyuan Market. If you have enough time, take a day trip to nearby cities like Suzhou or Hangzhou.
In conclusion, there are still many impressive things about Shanghai, and we will definitely visit again. See you next year, Shanghai 🥰

Afternoon tea with a view ☕️☀️
#shanghaitrip
What is better is better than afternoon tea at one of the bunds most beautiful restaurants? It’s is one of my top favorites of visiting Shanghai. We have much less of that in Beijing.
We came one Friday to Pop and had an amazing afternoon. Good food, good drinks and good friends. The amazing selection they served for their afternoon tea was superb and the view was fantastic. This is an absolute good place to start your rooftop adventure in Shanghai. The stunning view of the Bund always keep amaze me although I’ve travelled to the city about 30 times.

Shanghai's Midnight Miss at the Bund ✨
#timetotravel
🌆 Our nighttime stroll along the Bund in Shanghai was a mix of anticipation and missed opportunity.
Arriving at the Bund around midnight, we missed the famed lights, a bit disappointing but a lesson learned: go early, brace the crowds. Taking the subway and strolling, the Bund still held its charm. While we couldn't catch the lights this time, our late-night visit left a lasting impression.
Departing in the morning, we knew that next time, we would be back to explore more of Shanghai's treasures, beyond just the lights. 💛

Cultural, vibrant, magnificent Shanghai!
#visitshanghai
During the day the tall buildings along the bund and the beautiful gardens in Yu Yuan are breathtaking.
During the night the coastline and the neon lights of the city command awe and respect. A city with elegance, history and modern beauty.
There are so many things you can do in Shanghai - museums, art galleries, fancy cafes and restaurants, cultural walks, comedian shows, scenic tours… I spent months there and couldn’t finish visiting and appreciating just one area!

Underrated other side of the Bund
This is not exactly Liujiazui - could not tag a more accurate location. Everyone knows West Bund, Bund or North Bund, but rarely do people talk about the Pudong side of the Bund - 滨江。
To cross the river for Pudong, hop on one of the multiple ferry stops along the Bund - I recommend the 董家渡 stop which will disembark you at 塘桥 - slightly south to Liujiazui. (See map)
The entire ferry ride is a less than 10 minutes and costs 2RMB. Go on the upper outdoor deck to get the best views of both sides of the Huangpu river.
Disembarking at 塘桥,walk north along the riverside promenade (滨江)and a get a closer view of the Pearl Tower as well as the the Bund from the other side.
You can also ride or walk the 20km stretch of dedicated cyclist/pedestrian lane. The cyclable route winds through trees, rises above ground and goes through protected forest areas.
Walk or ride, this is a very nice afternoon/sunset activity to to with a family but expect to have go through a few busy areas - Specially when getting closer to the Pearl Tower.
You can plan a picnic or stop at the multiple coffee stops along the river as well as many restaurants - Fat Cow, Eli Falafel, Chili’s etc - as you get closer to Liujiazui.

As a travel blogger, I have been fortunate enough to visit some of the most fascinating destinations in the world. But there is one place that left a special impression on me, and that is the beautiful and vibrant 外滩 (The Bund) in Shanghai, China.
Spring in The Bund is simply magical. The cherry blossom trees bloom all around you creating a stunning pink canopy. The gentle breeze carries the sweet fragrance of these flowers, and the sound of nature is mixed with the constant chatter of people from different ethnicities and cultures. The vitality of this place is infectious, and you cannot help but feel energized the moment you step foot here.
When the sun goes down, the lights in The Bund come alive. The bright neon lights reflect on the Huangpu River creating a kaleidoscope of colors. The grandiose buildings around you light up, and you get the feeling of being in a scene from Blade Runner. This unique aura will take your breath away and will make you want to stay here forever.
Despite being a modern and ever-progressing city, The Bund remains deeply rooted in Chinese culture. This is evident from the architecture which represents a mix of traditional and contemporary styles. If you look closely, you will see the intricate designs on the walls of the buildings that reflect Chinese art and culture.
The diversity of the people in The Bund is also noteworthy. It is a melting pot of cultures, and you can see people from different parts of the world sharing their customs and traditions. The friendly locals make everyone feel welcome, and you will leave this place feeling enriched by the experience.
In summary, The Bund is a place that has everything you could ask for in a destination – nature, modernity, culture, and diversity. It is a traveler's paradise that will enrich your mind, body, and soul. So, come and experience the magic of The Bund!

Roosevelt Hotel
The Roosevelt hotel sits on the meaner of the HuangPu river and offers some of the best views that I’ve seen on the Bund. It’s a private members club but you can go up onto the rooftop for a drink. They have a DJ that plays in the weekend and the prices of drinks etc are quite reasonable considering where it is. There is one small elevator but a bigger one around the side that can get you to the top faster.#shanghai #thebund
The Bund Shanghai
The Bund in Shanghai is always a must do during my trip. This time I saw the city from a hop on hop off tour bus and it was absolutely amazing 😍 The weather during my October 2020 trip was also beautiful.

Impressive architecture along the Bund in Shanghai
The Bund is a waterfront area and a protected historical district in central Shanghai.
From the 1860s to the 1930s, it was the rich and powerful center of the foreign establishment in Shanghai, operating as a legally protected treaty port.
From that period of time we have left dozens of historic buildings... indeed walking around the area feels like being in some Western cities!
I could spend hours walking the alleys and admire those old, beautifully designed facades and read about their history (the heritage buildings are signaled with a plaque)
Definitely recommended for architecture lovers!

Unique Shanghai 'Bamboo' building 😍🎋
The Bund Finance Center is a building in the Bund of Shanghai, currently hosting the non-profit organization Fusun Foundation.
It is famous for its three overlapping moving layers of vertical stainless steel pipes, which resemble the shape of bamboo.
These layers, inspired by theatre curtains, slowly rotate around the building following music for few hours every day 😍🎼
Have you ever seen anything like this?
This building is absolutely one of a kind!

Museum of Art Pudong is a great art museum to visit with 4 floors filled with art work, some linked to Tate Modern. Exhibits generally stay here for 6 months and there will usually be 3 exhibits spread across the floors. The rooftop area hosts a restaurant and a view of the Bund worth checking out. Weekend and Holiday tickets are 200RMB and it’s an open dated ticket.

🥰 Stunning Night Views in Shanghai
The Bund - This is the place you shouldn’t miss if you’re in Shanghai. It offers you the super awesome night views across the river. You can’t find other places like this place, we truly enjoyed our night time at The Bund.
Every building puts up their unique light shows using super bright LED lights that inject different types and colours. We all know Shanghai is an expensive city but this is definitely the best free things that tourist can enjoy in Shanghai.

Strolling in Shanghai ✨✨✨
Had an amazing day trip to the Bund. You can take line 10 from Shanghai Hongqai train station to the Bund. We exited at East Nanjing Street and walked over.
I was afraid of heights 🙈, so we just took some photos outside. The ticket to go in and up to see the city view is around 180 yuan.
Took some amazing photos then had lunch at the Fat Cow an American food restaurant.
Other international restaurants such as Blue Frog are closeby. There's also a Disney store and shopping malls.
You can check out the IFC mall , it has various big brands like Chanel and Gucci located inside.

CHILI’S Restaurant and Bar on the BUND!
Amazing bund view restaurant!
- This is my second time coming to chili’s and as a second timer it’s just as amazing as the first!
- The food is Mexican inspired food which tastes great.
- I personally love their BBQ boneless wings because it’s easy to eat and tastes incredible!
- They have a wide variety of incredible flavors of food that will melt in your mouth and their signature “lava cake with ice cream” as dessert.
- This restaurant was overall amazing as well as their staff and service. Fast service and great waiters. I’ll definitely be going back!
If your ever in Shanghai this is a must experience because the view during the day and night is just breathtaking!

The Bund in Shanghai China 🇨🇳
Shanghai is known for many different things. It is often known for being one of the richest and international cities in China alongside the likes of Beijing Guangzhou and Shenzhen however, Shanghai still has some slight moments where one can enjoy the little things the city has to offer.
The bund is free to visit, as soon as you walk down or take the subway to the bund one can observe others running, doing tai chi, or even people on boats taking pictures as they sail by.
The bund is iconic and especially beautiful at night when the lights are on so the all the tall buildings. One will most certainly be mesmerized.
See it if you can, you won’t regret it.

Exploring the Bund, Shanghai, China
The Bund is located on the bank of the Huangpu river in Shanghai. It is a historical and cultural block in China. The Bund is about 1.5 kilometers long, stretching from YanAn east road to the Waibaidu bridge on the Suzhou river in the north. There is a huge concentration of the old Shanghai financial and foreign trade institutions in the west. This is so because after Shanghai became a commercial port, foreign banks, firms, associations and newspapers began to gather here, and the Bund became the financial center/city of the whole country. There are many hotels and restaurants surrounding the bund. There are also a handful of activities to do from Virtual reality shows, boat and cruise ship rides, as well as partying on Yachts. The famous tower provides a good background to snap pictures and there are so many malls close by to cater for all your shopping needs.

Let’s go to the Bund✌🏻
Location: The Bund, Shanghai, China
Entrance fee: Free
Date: January 25, 2020
If you visit Shanghai, the first place you must go is the Bund. You can have a nice walk and enjoy the view of beautiful and modern skyscrapers. The tallest skyscraper in Shanghai is the Shanghai Tower, which is 632m tall with 128 floors.
Because of the fog, you can’t see the top of the Tower. I recommend you to go there when it’s sunny, so you can see the scenery and especially the tower in a different way.
Even though it was rainy and foggy, this place looks fantastic. I think this place will be perfect no matter how the weather is.

Christmas time - Shanghai
I’ve always to go to Shanghai during Christmas time and that’s exactly what I did this year.
I was in Shanghai on Christmas Day and I had a blast!!
As per usual, The Bund is a stunning place to visit. My friends and I wanted to go to the famous German Christmas Market but the tickets were sold out. Instead, we decided to go to the BFC (Bund Finance Center) Christmas Market and it was amazing (and surprisingly free!!!).
I highly recommend you try the apple cider, it’s delicious!
There are a lot of snacks and the ambiance is amazing!
We also went to Captain, a nice restaurant located in the Bund. You get a stunning view of the city.
I love Shanghai and if you haven’t had a chance to visit yet, I’m sure you will love Shanghai too! ❤️

Here’s what the typical Bund looked like
Earlier in 2019 this I took a trip to Shanghai and visited the bund, and I remember that at that time of the year it was mind-blowing the number of people came and went on a typical day.
there would be crowd control officials and lots of barricades to ensure some form of order but it was still short of chaos! however this was the norm. the crowds also extended towards the nanjing street and many surrounding streets. and the worst thing you could do would be to try to take a taxi cause you might have gotten stuck on n traffic.
however it was always still a wonderful experience if you ask me as you could see how much people loved Shanghai cause Shanghai does have a lot to offer.

Late Night Dining at THE Nest
If you are looking for a cool, kinda quiet restaurant with amazing food somewhere near the Bund then The Nest is exactly what you are looking for .
It closes at 2am which allows you to wine and dine in peace ✌️. The restaurant has such amazing interior decor and the lighting is just perfect.
Now for the food 😋 , they have a super wide range from raw meats (I know!), steaks and seafood which is their specialty ❤️. They also have a wide range of wines and cocktails 🍹 🍸 alcoholic and non-alcoholic . A win/win for everyone 💯

Ever been to the Shanghai bund?
This is one place and one city that I would never get tired of visiting! Shanghai is one of the most international cities in China, and is a city where tourists from all over China and the world come to visit. That being said, if you’re in Shanghai and your looking to visit a place that expresses the vibrancy and energy of Shanghai, I recommend you visit the Shanghai bund!
The bund is located in central Shanghai and is a waterfront which runs along the western bank of the Huangpu River in the eastern part of Huangpu District. The area along the river faces the modern skyscrapers of Lujiazui in the Pudong District.
When exploring this area I recommend starting from the east nanjing road and following the road all the way to where it connects with the bund.
