Hongcun is one amazing village with long history. Beautiful at dawn, daytime and dusk. Different from other ancient villages. Have many shops, restaurants. Recommend to try rice wine, there’s many stores of it, tastes very good. Picturesque Hongcun Village in Anhui

An hour drive from Huangshan in South-Anhui, there is the popular Hongcun village. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. 🏞️ Hongcun village is renowned in China for its Huizhou-style architecture. Hongcun is the subject of many Chinese paintings because of its beauty, you can find many painting students practicing their skills there. ✍️ 📍If you don't have a car, you can take a bus from Huangshan train station. 🚌 🎟️ For Hongcun you need an entrance ticket. Huangshan - Hongcun ancient village

📍Where: Huangshan, Anhui. This 900 years old village is located 1 hour away from Huangshan North railway station. (We hired a driver. You could also take a DiDi if you’d like to.) There’s also a bus you could take from the railway (Not sure about the frequency.) ⏰ Suggested time : 3-4 hours. A lot of the buildings in the village of Hongcun can date back to the Song Dynasty. This beautiful place. also called “the ancient village in Chinese paintings”, was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000. Pay particular attention to the large tree located at the West gate 1 , it’s 500 years old! I recommend you book a hotel in the ancient village. I stayed at the Floral Hotel and I was very impressed! I highly recommend it (I posted a photo of the hotel’s information). From there, Yellow Mountain is about 35mins away. A must see after the famous Yellow Mountains is the beautiful 宏村 Hongcun village. You'll have the feeling to enter into one of the ancient Chinese paintings: little canals, cobblestones streets, picturesque bridges, white buildings and rice fields all around. Those are some of the reasons why this historical site well deserved the World Heritage recognition. l went during winter time and definitely the fog and cloudy weather gave the environment a more mystical athmosphere!
