Madrid is Unbelievably safe for a city of its size. Very laid back with very little aggro and disorderly behaviour. You can go almost anywhere at any time and feel quite safe, in comparison to most other cities I know, especially those in the UK. It's alive. It's buzzing with life. Its streets are busy, its bars are full, its terraces boisterous, its nightlife exciting. Day or night the city is packed with people having a good time with their friends and family. Transport, You finish your night out, whether at 12 or at 5, you catch a metro or a bus, it's full of people, it's usually safe enough and clean enough. It gets you home. Transportation is very good. You can move around easily and reliably. Culture, Having lived in smaller cities, I have constant appreciation for the never ending possibilities of cultural events. Music, theatre, sports, museums, events of every kind, places and people for every niche and interest, so many options all week long, all the year.
Food, All the good things about the Spanish food scene in one place. From supermarkets full of affordable fresh produce, to local bars serving hearty food, to international cuisine and Michelin star restaurants. You get to eat really well all the time for any budget. Not chaotic, Despite the huge population Madrid feels so much less chaotic and intense compared to any European city of its size. Things work. The city runs. There are crowds and queues, but it always feels manageable. Amo mucho madrid!

There are exhibitions inside the building, exhibition about the history of Madrid, art and others. It is a place to slow down your pace and enjoy the arts. Inside the building, you will get the view of the roundabout, the busy city. You should also enjoy the architecture of the building.

I booked a walking tour online which includes tickets to the Royal Palace of Madrid.
I would so recommend doing so if you are going to Madrid because:
No. 1 you have a tour guide that walks with you while explaining the history of Madrid &
No. 2 you get to skip the queue for getting tickets and also entering the Royal Palace (very important because the palace is always really busy and the sun in Madrid is blazing hot 🥵)
The palace is well maintained, very pretty and grand and definitely is worth a visit. I would say the palace quite the perfect example of east meet west where you can see some oriental inspired decorations and wallpapers.
I personally do not have any prior knowledge about the Spanish royal family so it was nice to have a tour guide who explained everything to the finest details to us!!

Helmed by chef Dabiz Muñoz, named the World’s Best Chef in the most recent Best Chef Awards, RavioXO is the newly opened concept of the chef in Madrid.
The space is located in the gourmet section of shopping mall El Corte Inglés near Nuevos Ministerios metro stop. And it does deliver what is expected from a Michelin-star chef.
Note to say that the accolade for the chef is for his other restaurant DiverXO, and that RavioXO is a lower ticket dining experience yet totally worth it.
In the menu some groundbreaking plays on the concept of pasta: from Italy to China. Among the dishes to try are definitely: Cocido Hong Kong - Madriz, Bao Boloñesa Coreana and Caserío Vasco.
The Huevos con Morcilla is also an incredibly tasty dish, even though it doesn’t exactly match in the concept around pasta.
Cocktails are in the line of creative libations: Dragon Ball is a funny one, where an sphere of Raspberry-infused Campari recreates the mythical magic balls of the anime series

Madrid's most iconic train station ⭐️🚝
I'm travelling around Spain by train (one of the best ways to) and I'd heard a lot about the beautiful Madrid Atocha Railway Station (Estación Madrid de Atocha). In person, it really is breathtaking! One of the most beautiful train stations I've ever been in.
Atocha is the largest station in Spain that serves the most kinds of trains: commuter, intercity, regional, and the AVE high speed. What's iconic and unusual is that the atmosphere, architecture, and decoration in the old plaza (see pictures) don't make the place feel like a train station! It is also very cooling, thanks to the amount of greenery and plants in the plaza. If you're not departing/arriving here, I still recommend visiting the Atocha station when in Madrid!
There is also lots of history to this station: the current building was built in 1892, and even houses a memorial outside for the victims of the 2004 Madrid train bombings.
This is the perfect place for lovers of history, architecture, plants, and trains! So beautiful and iconic.

The very first thing after landing is taking the taxi to the city centre and we checked into 📍the Hotel Catalonia Goya where located very nearby to all the attractions 🏜️it costed us 💰£160 per night
I found the price acceptable considering the convenience 👍🏼
Well, not just that. the view from the Juliet balcony is a wow 🤩 you can see the blue blue sky and a beautiful architecture 📍Basílica de la Concepción de Nuestra Señora in front of you ⛪️

Beautiful Christmas lights in Madrid
Although travelling in the winter can be troublesome - you need to pack thicker clothes which makes your luggage heavier and the day is much shorter, you get Christmas lights, Christmas markets and festive events that you don’t have in the summer.
If you walk by Gran Via, Retiro and most robust areas in Madrid, you instantly feel the joy and excitement of the winter season with the festive songs that being played in shops and the decorations in the street and department stores.
The winter in Madrid isn’t horribly cold (around 10 degree on average) - you get to feel the change of season but still manage to do most outdoor activities without feeling frozen.

When it comes to Christmas tree, you either expect a tall green one or if it’s at night one with lights wrapped around it, but Madrid’s Christmas trees are beautiful both during the day and at night, both with and without lights. Isn’t it gorgeous!
Love the vibe on the street with festive songs and decorations everywhere as well. It just makes you happy and want to travel or give!
