Floating City: Venice 🇮🇹
Venice is a kind of beautiful Italian destination - with its long canals, narrow alleys and an interesting history, you’ll always find a lot to do & see..Let’s help you spoilt with choices all the best things to do in Venice whilst you’re there. I have visited several sights in Venice and would like to share them with you!
1) St Mark’s Basilica - It’s worth exploring the most famous church St Mark’s Basilica.
2.) Piazza San Marco- Buzzing ‘must-see’ spot, Piazza San Marco is one of the most famous square to visit in Venice
3.) Rialto Bridge- The oldest bridge that crosses the Grand Canal in Venice, the Rialto Bridge and surroundings is a bucket list if you have wish to stroll around this great city.
4.) Grand Canal-It’s packed with boats, gondolas and a heap of water taxis. Personally, I’d recommend either taking a short tour by gondola.
5.) Doge’s Palace-This beautiful Palace has a long history within the Venetian empire; Inside you will see the most grand rooms and fine art that’s centuries old.
If you have time I would suggest to visit near by islands; Murano, Burano, and Torcello are the Venetian Lagoon's three most visited and unique islands.

the Magic and Reality of the Trevi Fountain
The Trevi Fountain. 💙 This was my first time visiting and I was in awe! What a beautiful absolutely magical place! Located in Rome, Italy, it is one of the most famous and iconic fountains in the world. ⛲️
It is featured in many movies and photos, and is often depicted as a serene (exhibit A - the photo which I have shared with you) and romantic spot where visitors can throw coins into the fountain.
The reality of visiting the Trevi Fountain is a little different. Friends had told me it’s SOOO busy. While I thought I was prepared, I could never have imagined just how BUSY it gets. The crowds there were more than I expected. But, then again I can totally understand why.
What to expect: The fountain may be crowded with tourists, busy and noisy, difficult to get a photo with a clear view of the Trevi and can have quite a bit of litter around.
Managing expectations: be prepared for the crowds and hustle and bustle that come with this magical location. The Trevi Fountain remains a must-see place! 🤩🫶🏼The beauty and history of the fountain make it worth the visit. If you want to see it when it’s a little less crowded, try to visit early in the morning or later in the evening when there may be less people around.
Photo tip: work those angles. There were at least another 50 people if not more around when I was taking this photo!

Venice is always a good idea
🎭 W E L C O M E T O V E N I C E 🚤 - Sharing some fun facts I learned about Venice:
1. Venice is shaped like a fish (Yes, you read that right. Don’t believe me - head over to Google and check out the aerial view)!
2. Venice is sinking - yes, I’m sure most of us know this more well known fact, but did you know that the Italian government has been trying to prevent Venice from sinking since 1973.
3. The local population of Venice is lessening by the year. 30 years ago there were 120,000 locals compared the to current 60,000 or so at the moment. Experts say that by 2030 the true locals could actually all disappear. Okay, I think I’ve just convinced myself that I should follow my Grandmother’s Italian roots and move to Venice and become a Venetian.
4. Venetian’s speak their own language that is not considered to be a dialect of Italian.
5. Venice ruled itself for 1,100 years and apparently the island of Crete and Cyprus were also under it’s rule for some time.

Lago di Braies (also known as Pragser Wildsee) is one of the most famous lakes in the Dolomite region of Northern Italy. When I visited this lake, I actually drove into Northern Italy from Austria because I was hiking in that region. The drive was very manageable and extremely scenic. This region is Europe is absolutely stunning and I recommend visiting in Fall. The colours of the leaves on the trees makes you feel like you're in a fantasy as you drive past them.
To enjoy this lake to yourself (or with the least amount of people), please arrive as early as you can! Because it is such a picturesque location, this means many people are going to want to come here to take pictures. But only the most serious photographers will come before the sunrises. Also the reflection of the mountains on the lake looks more vivid! If you do want to take pictures, make sure you use a tripod and a remote to help you get the sharpest picture possible!
If you're looking to stay near the lake, I recommend staying at Majestic Hotel & Spa. It has great value for money and the spa is wonderful! I hope you enjoy your time there as much as I did!
