2023: a year to remember! What’s netx? 🔜✈️
2023 was a beautiful year! I had the opportunity to visit many new places.
In January I went to Jordan. While I was there, I had the opportunity to visit Petra, one of the seven wonders of the modern world. January being a non-high season period, there were few people and it was beautiful. Petra is definitely a magical place to see at least once in a lifetime.
In April instead I had the opportunity to go to Beijing. Here too I saw another wonder of the modern world, The Great Wall of China. But the thing that left me most shocked was the Terracotta army which is located in the city of Xi'An.
I hope to have other opportunities to travel in 2024 as I had in 2023. The destinations I would like to visit this year are New Zealand and French Polynesia…so Oceania is my next goal 🔜✈️

Golden Park in Xi’an!
Location: Tao Hua Tan Park, Xi’an city, Shaanxi Province.
Getting there: Take line 3 of the metro all the way east to Tao Hua Tan.
This park is a gem in the east of Xi’an. It’s a wonderful location to see the autumn leaves and enjoy the peaceful quiet. You can see the subway go overground and enjoy the sun bouncing off the train carriages. Walk along the bridges of the park to enjoy a vantage point of this less touristy part of Xi’an.

Waterfalls of Xi’an
Attraction name: Qinling Forest Park
Location: Southern part of Xi’an city
This park is big and filled with natural beauty; quite different from the busy ancient city of Xi’an.
However, if you want to see lots of natural beauty such as big famous mountains and fresh waterfalls, the Qinling mountain area just a few kilometres south of Xi’an is a wonderful place to relax and cool down from the city heat.
Take your water gun and play with the water of nature…go for a swim in the water of nature.

Geographical Center of Ancient China! 🇨🇳
#timetotravel
I had the opporunity to see Xian's Bell tower thrice and I always get to see it since I was also touring family and friends around. This bell tower is more beautiful at night as it lights up but it is beautiful anyway no matter what time of the day it is. It is near all the other tourist attractions in Xian so you can definitely drop by here and admire its beauty. You can go inside as well if that is what you prefer for only 35 rmb. Enjoy!

3 Weeks in China! ✈️🇨🇳👍
#timetotravel #china #shanghai #chinatravel #xian #chengdu #guilin
With borders and visas finally back in action, it’s a great time to travel to the vast and beautiful lands of China. Filled with history, culture, scenery and incredible food to boot, spending three weeks here can disappear in the blink of an eye.
So how best to spend your time?
5 days in Shanghai (you can have a day trip to SuZhou here) - here you can see Nanjing Road, The Bund, the French concession, Jingan Temple, Xuhui district and much more
4 days in Xian - obviously the biggest sight to see is the Terracotta Warriors which will take a whole day. there is also a show at the city walls in the evening which shouldn’t be missed and food in the Muslim quarter
4 days in Chengdu - the pandas if that’s you’re kind of thing. Chengdu is a great place to chill, get lost and drink lots of craft beer! Go to the Tibetan area!
5 days in Guilin (you can have a day trip to Yangshuo here) - The lakes, the caves, the rice terraces, Yangshou and a show
I travelled with my 60+ year old dad and aunt and we took the train between cities - it’s a lot but it’s not impossible!!
Xi’an. Terracotta Army. Old city.
We spent three days as a family in Xi'an! It was enough to see the city and visit the Terracotta Army Museum! The first recommendation is to find a bus that will take you to the Terracotta Army Museum. From the square near the railway station (the station of ordinary trains, not high-speed ones, located next to the city wall), buses no longer run like five years ago. Taxi drivers don't know it either. I had to ride, and one local resident nevertheless wrote to us where to look for bus 306 (I attach the screen). But we no longer began to go there, but ordered a taxi directly to the Terracotta Army. Through the application of a taxi cost 75 baths. We also went back by taxi for 85 yuan, also ordered through the application on the phone. The second recommendation concerns visiting the city wall. Tickets can be purchased via WeChat or paper tickets at the offices next to the wall entrances. Almost no one speaks English, and through an interpreter they themselves often do not understand what they want and need from them. As a result, we took tickets for the whole day for 54 yuan. In the evening there is a light show together with the theater! Beautiful! But we couldn’t get there because at the box office they said that tickets for the wall are valid for the show, but it turned out not to be so. Tickets need to be purchased separately and cost 280 yuan alone. The third recommendation for visiting the Pagoda. Entrance to the territory of the Pagoda is possible only until 17:30. Therefore, they did not enter the territory. And as an amateur to shoot with a camera and a drone, recommendations. In general, flying and shooting from a drone is prohibited, but as the locals said, it is not strictly controlled. Therefore, you can take off from a quiet place near the sights, fly not low, shoot and return. Over the bell tower in the evening drones like mosquitoes))). You can also visit the mountains near Xi'an, but we decided to dedicate a separate trip to this! We loved Xi'an! Beautiful city! Lots of history! Lots of Chinese culture! I definitely recommend visiting this city! #xian #terracottaarmy #shanxi #belltower
A Day in Xi’an 🇨🇳
Spending a day in Xi’an?
There are PLENTY of things you can do and delicious local food you can try.
The Drum tower is a must for you to see (especially at night)! If you want you can go inside, but I’m not sure how much it is.
The City Wall (45¥) is beautiful and great to walk on/bike on to enjoy nice views of the city. If you’d like to rent a bike, it costs 45¥ + 100¥ deposit for 3 hours.
As for local food, you must try the Biang Biang noodles (hand pulled noodles seasoned with chili, garlic, and Sichuan pepper)
Have a great day!

The greatest wall, from every angle, Xi'an.
Xi'an city wall is totally different to our first experience of the wall, away from the city, but just as enchanting. We were lucky enough to capture the sunset while on it 🌅🏯, beautiful. You can make the walk as long or as short as you like with a perimeter of just over 13km. We started at the Tower opposite Times Square shopping centre, closest subway station 🚇was
yongningmen.
🎟ticket was 54RMB, 248RMB if you wish to stay for the Tang dynasty celebration (recommended) see pictures.
🏃We walked West for about 2 hours, there are a couple of exit gates on the way, most do close at 8pm.
🏯Hanguang Gate is a little museum on its own, lots of information and beautifully preserved relics of the wall inside it.
As you exit the Hanguang gate, walk west until you can cross under the wall to the other side then walk back to your starting point via Bao'ensi Jie, this is a lively street with lost of shops, 🍸bars and 🍜🥤restaurants.#roadtrip #china #summervacation #xian
M.O.T.A.S around the world China’s Most Impressive Wall
Name: The City Wall of Xi’an
Location: Centre of Xi’an city in Shaanxi
The city wall is probably the best attraction inside the city of Xi’an. It takes about four hours to walk around the entire wall but you can do it in one hour when you rent a bike.
I love visiting this attraction on more than one occasion because the sky looks different. Try to come on a sunny day at sunset to enjoy the pink sky and it’s the ancient wall in the foreground.
From the wall you can look down into the ancient houses and see Bell Tower from a distance. Stunning history all around you.

Huaqing Palace
Location: Huaqing Palace, Xian, Shaanxi, China
Entrance fee: 120¥ + 358¥ performance
Date: July 13, 2022
Huaqing Palace or Huaqing Pool is located about 35 kilometers east of the city of Xi'an, at the foot of Li Mountain. Hua means brilliant, Chinese or flowery; qing means pure or clear. It is a famous imperial bathing pool and one of China's Hundred Famous Gardens.
In Tang Dynasty, emperors would come to Huaqing Palace with their concubines. The Emperor Xuanzong used to spend his wintertimes at Huaqing Palace in the company of his favorite concubine Yang.
“Song of the everlasting sorrow” musical performance is a love story of Concubine Yang Guifei and emperor Xuanzong (Tang Dynasty).
She is known as one of the Four Beauties of ancient China.
Even though she was the wife of the emperor’s son, the emperor was attracted with her beauty, and eventually, he made her his imperial consort. Yang enjoyed a luxurious life after becoming the consort of Emperor Xuanzong.
However, she soon became the victim of courtly intrigue, which ultimately led to her death. But the legendary story of her romance with the Emperor would last forever.
She was so beautiful that we can feel it even just looking at her statue😍
The performance was so realistic, that I felt their love and sorrow. I had a feeling like they’re shooting an ancient movie and I’m part of it. It was so incredible and it’s worth watching it. I really liked it. If you go to Terra-cotta on the way back you need to see this fascinating place and the performance.

I saw the Terracotta Army - Xian 西安
First time going to Xian and it was amazing. Firstly, the Terracotta Army is a must see. The site was huge and you can easily spend several hours there. I would strongly recommend going with a tour guide as they can tell you a lot more about the history of the site.
You can also see a lot of the history in the downtown areas of Xian, with plenty of walls and towers to visit. I would also strongly recommend visiting the Muslim Quarter, as they have some of the best lamb and noodle dishes I have ever tasted.

Eleven courses of BLISS at Charcoal Player
Chef Li Junjie’s restaurant, Charcoal Player, is a hidden gem in Xi’an. Your meal is no nonsense…you sit at a long bar that overlooks the Great Wild Goose Pagoda, and you are offered a set menu of 11 courses. Junjie is from Sichuan but trained in Australia. As a result, his food embodies the collision of these cultures. The pigeon was my absolute favorite…so tender and not even a hint of gaminess. Hope to visit his Shanghai restaurant soon. #foodie #xian #china
Daming Palace in Xi’an
Visiting the site of the old Palace with its historical significance for the city of Xi’an, it was like taking a walk through time. I enjoyed the landscape, the design was mimicking the Chinese traditional landscape garden with its rockeries, plants and water. The 1:15 scaled model of the palace was one of the highlights of my visit as well as the vestiges of the colossal gate that did not stand the test of time and wars, but through its remaining, we can still grasp its importance and beauty. #xian #damingpalace #chineseculture #chinesearchitecture
