Liupanshui | Direct Train from Shanghai
Liupanshui is located in Guizhou. It’s a 11hr train ride train ride from Shanghai Hongqiao or around 3hrs train ride from Guiyang North.
A real playground for anyone wanting to try rock climbing as well as for experienced rock climbers - has something for all levels. The crags are around 20-30 mins by car from the centre and the views are amazing.
Liupanshui itself doesn’t have much to see but it is a good central location to go explore the surrounding scenery - I highly recommend renting a car if you can. Lots of the beautiful points of interest are within 20-30 km from Liupanshui.

Fanjing mountain - a dream
We came to climb the mountain just a few days before the Chinese New year holiday and we found that there were not too many people. We stayed near the entrance so that we could just walk to the ticket office once we finished our breakfast. currently the ticket is free if you are Chinese but I had to pay 70 rmb. I think it was half price because of the winter season. we took the cable car up and walked the rest up to the mushroom stone. Because of snow we were not able to climb to the last peak to the top of the mountain but it was still amazing. #newyearadventure #fanjingshan #travel #explore #china #guizhou

Moutai town
We spent one night here during our road trip from Guanxi to Sichuan before the Chinese New Year. I found the old town area to be very charming and we got some drone pictures of the big bottle. They say that the town always smells like alcohol, and I think I agree. Chinese Baijiu in the air. We also tried out the moutai ice cream. It was actually very good. #moutai #maotai #yearofrabbit #newyearadventure #guizhou #china

Guizhou fields!
One of THE highlights of 2022 was dragging my beloved Summer Feet™ to their first (and second! And third!) loved location - one of which almost turned into a brawl because, you know, no tougher street than the hike between hills and rice fields.(but that's a story for another day). It was a summer/ autumn of operatic proportions indeed, one in which I was privileged enough to witness six sites in 3 villages !
This one was particularly special because not only was scenic but also chilled
. And what a consummate artist it is!
Besides, I had an occasion to shoot this confection I collaborated with @jack and any excuse to channel a certain
"Pretty town" is always a good one.
I can't promise I'll make more of these in 2023 but let’s wait for it.
As always, I have my dear friend @jj to thank for an operatic Chinese village trip. #2023travelwish #mytripvlog #china #guizhou

Spectacular Ancient Village!
Xi Jiang Miao village in Guizhou province is a stunning place to walk around and photograph.
As a budding photographer, I just loved walking through the narrow streets and climbing to the top of the village for a birds eye view of the entire village.
I recommend staying in a local hotel inn at the top of the village. You can wake up, like I did, to one of the greatest sunrises ever.

The Wonderful Seven Arches
Xiao Qi Kong in the south of Guizhou province offers a wonderful day trip. Excellent waterfalls for photography, turquoise colour water and many superb bridges.
I suggest you take a wooden boat ride and enjoy the water rafting experience...it's truly spectacular.
If you like taking photographs then this is a great place. You can also visit Xi Jiang Miao village nearby and make the trip truly memorable.

Winter in Xijiang Miao Village 💙
One of my favorite places in Guizhou was Xijiang Miao Village. Touristy? Unfortunately yes. Still worth a visit? Definitely yes!
I especially enjoyed visiting in winter when the streets are wet and glimmering, and the blue fog rolls in over the town. It's incredibly beautiful at all hours of the day.
Spend a few days here exploring and meeting the Miao people!

A Winter Stroll in Guizhou 💙
Staying in Zhaoxing Dong Village in January has it's ups and downs. The village is full of beauty and culture so don't miss it when visiting Guizhou.
💙 Wrap up warm! The weather is cold and humid, don't underestimate how many layers you need, thermals reccomended.
💙 Take care of your equipment! The drizzling rain is incredibly beautiful and the streets cleared of people so I photographed everything until my camera had enough and shut down for 30 mins 🙈
💙 Look for a modern hotel! The houses here are all wooden, which means the cold permeates each room. I specifically looked for a room with air conditioning but it hardly did anything, had my heated blanket turned up high all night.

XiaoQiKong Ancient Bridge… V shaped Valley!!!
Honoured as “Small Jiuzhaigou”, Xiaoqikong Scenic Area is best known for the seven-arched Xiaoqikong Bridge, which is a landmark of Libo Zhangjiang Scenic Area. It was built in 1835 on a vital traffic road in ancient times between Qiannan City and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. With a length of 44 yards (40 meters), a width of 2.4 yards (2.2 meters), and a height of 6.0 yards (5.5 meters), the bridge shows delicate structures and exquisite craftsmanship.
Due to continuous erosion, Xiaoqikong Scenic Area has evolved into the deep V-shaped Xiangshui River Valley, which is home to plunging waterfalls. In the upper reaches of Xiangshui River, Laya Waterfall seems to link with the sky at the top surrounded by clouds. Near Laya Waterfall, a 68-step waterfall flows down at random along a winding river less than 1 mile (2 kilometers). Downstream of Xiangshui River, the Green Valley Waterfall is surrounded by high green mountains which colour its water with green.

A look at Guizhou’s amazing pottery. Wow!!!
Guizhou is known for its rich tradition and culture. It is home to one of the most famous minorities in China, and today we explore one of its other specialties, art in the form of pottery. Let’s take this journey together as we have fun and indulge in pottery making. Though it wasn’t an easy task but it was worth it in the end. After a series of trials, I finally made my own bowl and the dirt became a reminder of how much time and effort I had invested into my amazing product. Enjoying the last days of Summer at the ranch
Life at the ranch comprises of a blue sky and white clouds, an amazing view which makes the whole scenery, the autumn wind that slowly dives into the cup blowing on the tea, and this sums up what we can call the beautiful taste of simple life!
Scotland Ranch, also known as the Scottish Ranch is an amazing place. As we approach the last days of Summer (though it’s really autumn), it’s worth taking a long trip from the busyness of the city to the outskirts of Guiyang, Xiuwen to relax and say goodbye in style.
Entry tickets are very cheap, and there are so many activities to do there, like golfing, fishing, horse riding and barbecue. Be sure to try it out.

A walk with nature around Huaxi Park…
Guiyang Huaxi Park is located in the southern suburbs of Guiyang City. It integrates real mountains and rivers, pastoral scenery and national customs, and is known as the "Pearl of the Plateau". The flower stream means that the flowers are like brocades and the stream is long. There are several hills on the banks of the Flower Creek River, which are either abruptly isolated or winding.
The mountains are surrounded by water, the water is clear and green, and the weirs are layer by layer, forming a scenic spot with a radius of more than ten kilometers.
The park is located in the CBD of Huaxi and transport is very easily accessible. There are so many restaurants and resting spots nearby.

The beautiful Yuanyang Lake. Pride of Libo!!!
Yuanyang Lake, also known as the Mandarin duck lake is a natural karst plateau lake. Rowing in and carefully observed. The trees here are rooted in the water and are rooted in the riverbed through stones. Due to changes in topography, water depth and light, you can see colorful scenery. It is such an iconic piece of nature that the People of here marvel at it. I was fortunate enough to enjoy it and experience it, and I would definitely recommend it.
We drove a personal car to the place, but there are other kinds of transport available.
Apart from the entry ticket (costs ¥100), I had to pay an extra ¥30 for getting on the boat. It was worth it. Watch my video let’s experience it together.

Libo’s bluish greenish Lakes & waterfalls!
If you ever find yourself going to Guizhou, make sure you check out Libo, a place in the Qiannan area. It is full of so many scenic spots ranging from lakes to mountains to waterfalls, all the natural environments that you can think of. As the locals say, Guizhou you shan you shui, in Chinese: 贵州有山有水,meaning an area rich in natural environments. I had a wonderful time visiting this place and I’m happy to share with you my journey.
We took a private car from the provincial capital Guiyang to Libo, about a 2.5 hour drive. Tickets are below 100 RMB because as a student I got a discount. There are buses once inside which can carry you from one place to the other. All you gotta do is be ready to have fun. Loved Guizhou!!!

Huangguoshu - the biggest waterfall in China
The waterfall is amazing! Especially when you are going through the tunnel under it.
But gosh, it was sososo crowded this July: in the line in the tunnel people almost didn't move... So I have mixed feelings from the trip...
Still glad we saw that beauty and power.
To get there we took a hello taxi from Guiyang

Fanjingshan monastery, Guizhou
If you travel in Guizhou this is a must see attraction. However, it's different from the pictures in Google I was fooled by as they are made by drone (2d picture) and you will see it from another perspective 😁
It's still an amazing sight! Loved it😍
The tickets need be purchased 1 day in advance (in our case at least), so you can stay for the night nearby or in Jiangkou (they didn't do nucleic test for foreigners in Fanjingshan in July )
When we went there, it was packed with tourists, so on the way back we decided to go down on foot (99.9% take a cable car up and back). Don't do it without proper shoes and if you are not supersuperhikefan, as most of the way is through woods and not so special apart from a few spots, but your legs may hurt for a few days having made 10k steps down 😁#fanjingshan #guizhou
Beautiful calm Miao village
Located on the south side of Kali city, Jidao Miao Village is about 20-30 km away from Kaili city; the capital of Qiandongnan, and about 260 km from Guiyang City; the capital city of Guizhou Province. While most people go to Xijiang Miao village, Jidao village is smaller and calmer.
Take a walk trough the village or go to the river. Eat some local food and enjoy the scenery! 🏞️
🚌 There are busses from Kaili town, unfortunately not from Kaili South station, as it's not a very developed village. Easier it is with your own car.

Peaceful Nanhua Miao-Village in Kaili
Nanhua Miao village in Kaili (Guizhou) is one of the villages quite close to the city. It's small and not very developed, so you can see the real Miao village life without many toutists.
📍It's on the South side of Kaili, with car or bus only 10-15km and less than half an hour ride. Busses leave from Kaili old bus station, easier is to rent your own car. Actually you can even take a taxi, as it's close to Kaili.
🏞️ What to do in Nanhua?
Walk the village, see some handcraft, eat local food and enjoy the green scenery with villages, river and green hills and mountains.
🏨 You can sleep in the village(s) or go back to Kaili town. Better book on Trip, because some hotels in Kaili only accept guests with Chinese ID card.
