Things you can do for Taipei 5D4N Trip
If you have 5 days in Taipei, here something you can do:
Day1: Arrived at Taipei Taoyuan Airport in the morning, take trains to Taipei Station, have breakfast and walking trip under street of Taipei Station, take train to 101 Tower, then go to Xi Men Ding district to eat and shopping, at the evening check in hotel and go to Shilin Night Market to have dinner.
Day 2: JiuFen Shifen Trip. Suggest to go to JiuFen first (top of hill) as this location is harder to get public transport in the evening. At JiuFen you can enjoy nice meal and do some shopping here. Then you can headed to Shifen. If you want to to visit waterfall you can go earlier other wise come to Shifen railway station during evening is nice to light up the sky lantern with your wishes and send to the air. At night, Jilong Night Market have the best food you can taste.
Day 3: Today is hot spring spa day, Beitou district day. Here you can have a nice walk with the local morning market, public library, spa museum, and highly recommend to pick a nice place for spa. I picked Huang Chi Spa / Emperor Spa as they have a unique natural hot spring with natural radium mineral from underground volcanic. Then at night, can visit Raohe St. Night Market, which is the oldest and unique night market for good food.
Day 4: Is Tamsui district day. Is a very relax walk by the famous Fisherman’s Wharf harbour. Enjoy some local delicacies, shopping for souvenirs and enjoy your walk along the riverbanks. At night can go to Ningxia night market for food.
Day 5: the last day if your flight at evening or night, you can do some final shopping at WuFenPu near the city. Is a fashion clothes wholesale area where you can do some fashion shopping with good price. You may also spend some good time to shop around Taipei Station underground shopping district and have some nice food. There you can easy access to the express train straight to the airport for your departure.

Beitou Thermal Valley
#taipei #beitou
Beitou Thermal Valley, also known as the Hell Valley, is a small acidic green sulphur hot spring with water temperature up to 100 Degrees Celsius. The valley can be reached within a 15 minute walk from the Xinbeitou Station. There's a sulfuric smell in the air when you reach the valley, and steam can be constantly seen due to the high temperature. There is also a small hot spring pool just outside the Valley where you can soak your hands in the green sulfuric spring water.

Hot Spring in Taipei
The weather in December at Taipei is so good, not too much cold, not too much hot. It is good to enjoy a public hot bath in Taipei. The location is Xinbeitou, it is very easy to access this location by train. MRT to Beitou station and then another signature small train to Xinbeitou station and not cost too much. This area is so fresh and many bathhouses to ennjoy the hot spring. Walk around 10 mins to the hot spring. There is one public bathhouse for free but you need to bring swimwear. And many other bathhouse with price aảound, separate male and female area.

YANGMINGSHAN AND BEITOU HOT SPRINGS
Are you thinking about a trip to Taipei in Taiwan anytime soon? Yangmingshan and Beitou are two places well worth visiting. In this blog post, I’ll share my experience. Keep reading to find out how I made it to Yangmingshan and Beitou Hot Springs on the same day. Both are located just outside of the city centre and they’re easily accessible from downtown. I’ll be honest, there was a typhoon when I visited so don’t expect instagrammable photos from this post but you’ll hopefully be back to make it to both locations.
GETTING THERE:
FROM DOWNTOWN TO YANGMINGSHAN
Take the red line to Beitou and transfer to the extended line of Xinbeitou. Take bus 230 from Daye Road on the half hour. It’s up a sloped hill. You’ll pass Beitou National Museum along the way if you want to stop there. I arrived at the final stop for Yangmingshan and walked up towards the visitor centre. The staff recommended against going up any further due to the typhoon and the place was empty, except for a couple trying to retrieve a phone.
I went back towards the stop I was at and walked around the nearby park and saw some men outside relaxing at a hot spring. There was a trail up to Mt. Shamao for 1.2km. It was steep and a little slippery due to the rain. The view at the top was nice but I couldn’t see everything due to the clouds. It reminded me of a wet and windy day back home. There is another trail for 1km downwards and this is where the trip on your shoes will be tested. I wore normal Nike runners and slipped a few times.
FROM YANGMINGSHAN TO BEITOU
Once I got back to the main road, I got the bus back down to the town centre of Beitou. I had to walk back a little bit for about 800m but I got to see the plum garden, thermal valley and I entered Beitou Public Hot Spring for 30NTD. I got this rate because I was able to prove that I was a teacher! Just bring some form of ID or something school related with your name on it.
There is also Taipei Public Library Beitou Branch which structurally looks very cool but I didn’t enter inside. Also, you need to wear a specific bathing suit and a cap for entering the colder pools. There’s a locker for 20NTD that you can rent but it’s small so any big bag you have won’t fit. The hottest spring is between 40-45 degrees. My body wasn’t used to the temperatures so I rotated around them all for two loops.
HEADING BACK DOWNTOWN:
Once I cleaned myself up and left, I got the subway back downtown and got beef noodles in YongKang Street. It may not seem like much but it all added up throughout the day. You can definitely see Yangmingshan and Beitou yourself for far less than what some tours cost, but you have to plan it out well (I didn’t) and be up early. I headed there at about 11am and it was almost 7pm by the time I was leaving to go back downtown.
While the weather wasn’t great, it was still a great day trip and I felt like I still got to see quite a bit. Thanks for reading! #solotravel #taipei #beitou #yangmingshan
