Luang Phor Thuad's Statue
#samuiisland A giant munk statue on a big boat!? Yes it is exactly what this place is...and a pretty cool place to explore not far from Fisherman Village in Bo Phut. This might not be the place you spend like half the day at, but is a pretty big fella up on that boat and like me who can't say no to something new to explore or snap a few pictures at...this is a must to visit..
Buddha's Footprint
#samuiisland The temple seems abandoned, but clean. To get into it, you need to overcome a steep climb up the steps. The Buddha's footprint is fine, and there is a beautiful panorama from above. A corner of relaxation from the bustle of the world. If you really want to, you can take a broom and sweep the temple.A very serene place displaying the high Buddha foot print…
Buddha footprint is Buddha‘s mortal signature on the planet, Asia hosts about 3000 for the print monuments such as this
This specific place has an amazing view from the hill after climbing a fair amount of 150 steps;
It does not have an amazing architecture but it has a great display of culture and Buddhism concepts.
Koh Samui beach
#samuiisland It's a beach in the east of Koh Samui. It's a beautiful beach on Koh Samui. You can see Phangan Island as close as possible. There are three small islands: Som Island, Ram Island, Ram Island and Pan Island. Also, you can see the Buddha statue in the posture of a large Malavichai in the south. Also known as Wat Phra Yai, it is a fine white sandy beach where you can swim and see yachts and ferries to Koh Phangan.
Guan Yu Shrine
#samuiisland Passed by and stopped when I saw the large statue. There was decent parking, and opportunities for food and drink on site. Guan Yu Shrine is quite compact, so everyone can take their time for a stop here, as you don't need to spend more time than desired.
Across the street is the sea next to a pleasant bar and restaurant, with long sandy beaches. Definitely a stop for both the experience, relaxation and dining.
Koh Samui Elephant sanctuary 🐘🇹🇭
#samuiisland
The Koh Samui Elephant Sanctuary offers a compassionate and ethical refuge for these magnificent creatures in Thailand. Dedicated to their welfare, the sanctuary provides a safe haven for retired and rescued elephants, free from the burden of work or exploitation. Visitors have the unique opportunity to interact with these gentle giants in their natural habitat, observing them roam, bathe, and socialize freely.
Through educational programs, guests learn about elephant conservation and the challenges they face in the wild. With a focus on responsible tourism and animal welfare, the Koh Samui Elephant Sanctuary provides an enriching and unforgettable experience for both elephants and visitors alike.
Amazing experience and we learned a lot about elephants and what they've been through. It's nice knowing they're living a much better life at the sanctuary. Got to feed and hang out with some Elephant in Koh Samui.
Adventure at Angthong National Park
#samuiisland
Our day in Koh Samui has been a whirlwind of adventure and breathtaking sights. We indulged in mouthwatering seafood delights and embarked on an unforgettable journey to Angthong National Park by boat. From swimming to snorkeling and kayaking, we immersed ourselves in the wonders of the ocean.
Climbing 500 meters to the viewpoint tested our endurance, but the panoramic vista at the summit made it all worthwhile. Despite moments of exhaustion, the beauty surrounding us rejuvenated our spirits.
Koh Samui continues to enchant us with its natural splendor and exhilarating experiences, leaving us eager for more adventures ahead.
Heart Shape & Elephant Care Samui
#samuiisland Incredible experience!!!
We went for the full package, we got to make the elephants their special feed, we played in the mud together as a couple with one of the elephants.
We cooked a Pad Thai and had a private dinner over looking the island.
The tour guides were absolutely amazing, full of energy, really friendly.
If you deciding on which package, we would suggest just going all out as its really helps the park and the experience is a lot more private and you get a lot more one to one time with the elephants.
Lad Koh View Point
#samuiisland A scenic view point with ramps that can take you lower below the cliff. Nice scenic view for photographs. There's some parking in front for cars and motorbikes.Nice view point offering expansive views of the gulf of Thailand. Would definitely look better on a sunny day where waters are clearer and bluer. Still a good view overlooking the coastline / chaewang beach , nice photo spot as part of your day tour
Big Buddha Temple (Wat Phra Yai)
#samuiisland Very beautiful but small temple. The view over the sea is beautiful. As are the statues and temples. Down next to the stairs sits a monk, who wishes you good luck.
I really enjoyed my visit here. I was not expecting much but, positively surprised once I arrived. The temple itself is beautiful and spans across multiple levels. At the top where the large Buddha Statue is situated you have a nice view of the surrounding area. Around the temple there are some souvenir shops and small kiosks and cafes to get some refreshments.
Entrance is free. There are several market stalls found in the square at the bottom of the temple.
Grandfather and Grandmother rocks
#samuiisland It is located at southern Lamai Beach. It is also popularly known as Grandfather and Grandmother rocks due to its unique formation which looks like male and female organs. It's very picturesque and visitors love to click a lot of pictures on these amazing rocks. The beach is quite small. There are quite a few souvenir shops nearby. We loved eating here coconut ice cream served in a half broken coconut at a stall.
Samui Crocodile Farm
#samuiisland Amazing crocodile show (15min), good kind Cobra show (10min). After the show you can take pictures with small crocodile and python for 100 Baht per person.
The animals are well treated in this zoo, I don't understand why so many negative comments are written. You can feed animals like apes or other for free and donate only if you wish.
It's nice to visit in the afternoon when there's less heat and typical visit is like you come between shows, see and feed the animals in the zoo till first show starts, after the show you've got around 45 minutes and then watch the second show and then you're done.
600 Baht per adult and 300 Baht per child older than 5 years
Lamai Viewpoint
#samuiisland To go up to the top you pay 100 Baht per person, for 200 you can take a cable car up and down, but you have to walk a bit up to the station. I chose to use my legs up and down myself, and walked through fairly dense forest.
At the top, there are great photo opportunities towards the sea, and here there is also a cafe with both food and drink with pleasant service. At the top, there is also the option of taking a Zipline for those who wish, and there are good seats both in the cafe and on other ledges.
A decent change from other sights, and parking is done outside the place where you buy tickets.
Wat Plai Laem
#samuiisland
You might miss this temple complex if you only stay on the main road, but it is definitely worth finding. I would recommend coming here on a sunny day, if you had a choice, because they use those ultra bright and reflective colors all over, and it really pops in the sunlight! I didn't get pictures of the large coy fish in the lake because none of my shots turned out, but they are pretty cool. We were so distracted by the features of this large facility that we forgot to go in to the main temple. There are a lot of nice places to rest in the shade under trees here, in case you start to get tired. I highly recommend this stop. Less Snakes than some of the other places that we have visited today, for sure. More dragon aspects and bird aspects. Also, they have both male and female Buddha here, and the scale is simply massive. The light of day was not in my favor to get good shots however. Highly recommend. We also recommend making a small donation while you are here, as you should to most temples visited.
Jungle Club
#samuiisland Fabulous views like all the reviews say. Food priced to match, but for the views it was worth it. Easy to find cover and continue our drinks/food, even when a rain storm came in. Super friendly service, comfy relaxed seating options, wide variety of food & beverages on the menu. A bit tricky car ride up the hill....I wasn't sure if our little rental car would make it. Easy parking across the road from the restaurant.
Highly recommend!!!
For the review that says 100B shuttle each way isn't worth it, I completely disagree. He obviously has no idea how far and steep that road is. Had I known there was a shuttle I may not have taken the risk renting a car, in rainy season, driving on the left up such a steep and long road.
Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui
#samuiisland What a stay! Everything was perfect, from the level of service, through the quality of the rooms and facilities, to the location and atmosphere.
We went with our three young children, and everyone had a great time. The staff is very child friendly and accommodating, and we never felt uncomfortable for the noise or mess we were making.
The food was fantastic, and the themed dinners were exceptional - especially the buffet on the beach.
The setting of the resort is also amazing. The gardening and natural topography are beautiful, and the beach is very private and pristine.
Bottom line - would recommend this place hands down.
PARADISE PARK FARM
#samuiisland There is a wide range of animals here. They appear to have ample sized cages. It was nice to feed them and to interact with the animals. The road up to the park is a beautiful drive. You can buy food to feed the animals. There is a restaurant. Cost of entry is 400 baht per person. The pigeons are extremely eager to greet people who have bird food!highly recommended
