Cloud Forest Magic🌿
Singapore’s Cloud Forest is basically like stepping into another world 🌿! This futuristic garden dome at 18 Marina Gardens Dr, Singapore 018953, is all about misty waterfalls, jaw-dropping plant walls, and an air-conditioned paradise vibe (pro tip: the perfect escape from Singapore’s heat). It’s open from 09:00–21:00, but make sure you’re there before 20:00 for last admission. Double-check dates—they close for a day almost every month for maintenance, so don’t get caught out! Entry’s SGD 24.7, and honestly, worth every cent for those epic Instagram shots.
What’s cool? The main highlight is the indoor mountain, with a waterfall that towers over you. Climb to the top for mist-shrouded views down—all surrounded by the rarest ferns, orchids, and “finosaurus” plants (okay, I made that name up for the ancient-looking foliage that totally looks like it belongs with the dinosaurs 🤩). If you’re a plant nerd or just need fantasy-level content for your feed, this place is it.
Cloud Forest can get crowded, especially midday, so arrive close to opening for space and softer morning light. Bring a light jacket—the climate inside is surprisingly cool. If you love exploring calmly, weekdays are way less busy than weekends.
Getting here is super easy with Singapore’s clean, fast MRT; hop off at Bayfront Station and you’re just a short walk away. Don’t skip the Raffles City food court nearby for quick, wallet-friendly bites after—go local with some Hainanese chicken rice!

Start your adventure in the Cloud Forest (18 Marina Gardens Dr, Singapore 018953; open 09:00–21:00, last admission 20:00), where dense greenery and constant water mist create mysterious landscapes ideal for “nature explorer” shots, especially near the towering indoor waterfall. Trek up the spiral walkways—each step reveals more forest secrets and offers epic photos looking down at the misty canopy. If you’re feeling dramatic, wait for cloudy or rainy weather: the mist intensifies and you’ll capture those magical, rain-drenched “lost world” moments!
Next, hop over to the Flower Dome (same address; open 09:00–21:00, last admission 20:30). Here, wander among international blooms and desert plants; insta-worthy close-ups abound, especially in the themed gardens. Don’t miss rivers, lakes, and ponds for tranquil nature shots and flower reflections!
Tips: Wear comfortable shoes—it’s a lot of walking! Check opening dates before you go—each dome closes occasionally for maintenance. Admission is 249.0 for each dome.
Precautions: Surfaces can be slippery when misty or rainy, especially near water features. Give yourself enough time (2–3 hours per dome) to avoid rushing.

The cloud forest lives up to its name!
The cloud forest in Monteverde in the heart of Costa Rica does not disappoint!
It’s home the longest single zip line in all of Latin America! It’s in the 100% Aventura Park. You fly/zip in “Superman” style and boy is it exciting. Such a rush to cross the valley on the 1-mile long line, going quite literally through the clouds!
Once you’ve finished with the rush of the zip lines, you can go coffee tasting or even join a coffee tour and visit a plantation.
There are also plenty of night tours to do where you can come across animals such as the venomous viper shown in the picture here, with is bright green colour. As well as frogs, scorpions, and much more.
We stayed in the Sunset Apartments Monteverde, and were lucky enough that one day the skies cleared up and the clouds of the Cloud Forest gave way to fiery skies, light up by the beautiful sunset. From Monteverde you can actually the ocean, the Gulf of Nicoya, between the mainland and the Nicoya Peninsula.
