After living in this town for 3 years, it took me moving away before discovering this gem of a coffee shop. Hidden away between little streets and tall home buildings, Lighthouse is an owner-operated coffee shop with an enchanting atmosphere. We asked the owner why she opened the shop and why she doesn't market it more. She replied and said that she wanted to open up a small coffee shop for herself and her friends to indulge in their love of coffee. She does not run the shop to make a profit but just enjoys the process of making coffee and sharing it with others. The price are comparable to an 85 and Starbucks but the experience is one of a kind. The interior design is so eloquent and tasteful that every room transports you to a different world. Bit Bear is a craft beer bar in Taixing that we have fallen in love with. Their selection of beer and BBQ is everything you could hope for. I enjoy their standard brew and my wife enjoyed the Grapefruit craft bear. It was very cheap being 73RMB for a tower of beer. The food is amazing and with good company, it was a night to remember. They also have a great Karaoke system with English music in abundance! We can't help but go back there every time we're in town. The owners are very friendly and polite, making you feel right at home.

Everyone knows that July and August are off-season in Sanya. 👉But what does this mean in practice? We arrived on July 4th, right after a powerful typhoon, and we're ready to tell you what you can realistically expect. ⚠️ What to be wary of in the off-season: · High risk of rain and storms. · Large waves (swimming is often prohibited). · Closed attractions. · Risk of not being able to swim in the sea at all for the entire trip. 🌸But let's take things one step at a time🌸 Here's our experience of surviving (and even enjoying!) bad weather: · 💟 City atmosphere The first few days, the streets resembled an abandoned town: much was closed due to the typhoon's aftermath. But the night market was in full swing! 🍢 The food was fresh, tasty, and inexpensive. 🍜 Large noodles = 33 yuan 📍 Food reference point: the area around the Horizon Sanya Yalong Bay Resort & Spa. · 💟 Accommodation: A minus or a bonus? Our hotel was operating in "half-service" mode: quiet, empty, a little suspicious. BUT! It was precisely because there were no tourists that we got a free upgrade to a luxury room. So the quiet turned into luxury! 😎 · 💟 Sea: 50/50 lottery Out of 8 days, the beach was open 7 days, but swimming was only allowed on 4 of them. ❌ Minus: Lifeguards strictly monitor the waves. ✅ Plus: Due to the cloud cover, the sun didn't scorch! We swam even during hours when it's best to sit in the shade. Sun loungers are free all day, no crowding. · 💟 Attractions The risk of being left without an experience is real. At Tropical Paradise Forest Park, we were told the glass bridge was closed due to rain above. We still took the risk and bought tickets—and it was a good decision! The rain stopped, and we walked across the bridges practically alone. Perfect conditions for a photo without anyone in the frame! 📸 · 🏆 Verdict: It's worth visiting during the off-season if you: 1. After visiting here, I realized that the "Battle of Huangqiao" was not just a victory, but an epic strategic showdown! 🧠 📜 Surrounded on All Sides Entering the exhibition hall, the preface (Image 5) clearly states: In 1940, during the stalemate phase of the War of Resistance Against Japan, the stubborn Kuomintang general Han Deqin relentlessly pursued the main forces, trying to squeeze the New Fourth Army along the Yangtze River and eliminate us with the help of the Japanese army. At this time, founding generals Chen Yi and Su Yu, leading the New Fourth Army Jiangnan Command, embarked on a life-or-death "northward" expedition. 💥 The Masterstroke After Capturing Jiangyan What impressed me most was the story on the panel about "Capturing Jiangyan" (Image 6). At that time, Han Deqin ordered Zhang Shaohua’s Security Brigade to block the New Fourth Army’s food supply, attempting to "starve" them. Forced by circumstances, on September 13, after a day and night of fierce fighting, the New Fourth Army took Jiangyan and annihilated over 1,000 defending troops! I picked a free day and just went for a spontaneous trip 🚗 to check out Fenggui, a long-time internet celebrity restaurant in Changzhou. It's located on Sanbao Street, and there's parking available right on the street. Luckily, there was no queue, and I got a window seat on the second floor. It seems to be a restaurant converted from a residential building; many things are made of wood, and with various green plants and flowers as decorations, there's a peaceful and serene feeling to be there – very comfortable 🥰. There are so many photogenic corners in the restaurant. After I finished eating, since it wasn't crowded, I went to the first floor and took some more photos 📸. There's also an outdoor area on the second floor. Several cats in the shop sunbathe here, making it a great spot for photos 🤳 (I didn't bring my camera, so I used the Fujifilm filter from DAZZ, and the photos turned out really well 🤩) The menu has daily limited items as well as some regular dishes. I didn't have high expectations for Pretty Rice, but everything was surprisingly good.
