🌿 If you dream of seeing Bali's most impressive waterfall, this is the place to stay. 🏨 Secumpul Guest House is just a 15-minute walk through the jungle from the famous Sekumpul Waterfall. And the best part is, there are three waterfalls nearby: Sekumpul, Fiji, and Hidden Waterfall 💦 But there's an important caveat: be sure to arrive before dark. The last kilometers are on a serpentine mountain road without lighting, and the road can be challenging at night. The guesthouse itself is perfect for an overnight stay before an early hike to the waterfalls: clean and beautiful rooms with mountain views, peace, and fresh air. I recommend visiting the waterfalls at 7-8 am, when there are no other tourists, so you can take wonderful photos without the crowds. 😍 A very nice bonus from the hotel is the excellent discount on entrance to the waterfalls. 👍 After our walk to the waterfalls, we ordered a vegetable and seafood dish and waffles with ice cream at the guesthouse cafe. It was so delicious and filling that it gave us enough energy for almost the entire day after getting up so early. 🍜🦐 We were also treated to a variety of teas and coffees, which we later purchased and are still drinking and reminiscing about this wonderful day. 😍 On the downside, the room didn't provide glasses, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, robes, or slippers. Only drinking water, shampoo, and shower gel were provided. #summerbeachnights The Dead Sea is honestly one of the most unusual “beach days” I’ve ever experienced. This is definitely not the kind of place where you come just to swim. The moment you get into the water, your body naturally starts floating because the water is so salty. I remember leaning back and thinking… wait, I’m actually just floating here without doing anything?! 😂 That feeling alone made the whole experience so different from any other beach I’ve been to. And then there’s the famous Dead Sea mud and mineral-rich water. After getting out, my skin felt incredibly smooth and soft — almost like I had just finished a natural spa treatment. But what I loved most was simply how different the experience was. Floating on the water, enjoying the beautiful views around me, feeling completely relaxed, and knowing I was experiencing something you really can’t do at a normal beach… Definitely one of the most interesting beach experiences of my life. (The Treasury): The sacred grand temple and major landmark (which many will recognize from the Indiana Jones movies). ➡️ Wadi Rum, also known as the "Valley of the Moon," showcases raw, untouched natural beauty. · It's the largest sandstone and granite desert in Jordan. · The landscape is so otherworldly and futuristic that it's frequently used as a filming location for sci-fi blockbusters (like The Martian, Star Wars, and Dune) because it looks just like the surface of Mars. ➡️ The Dead Sea or Dead Sea Lake The "Lowest" point on Earth · Sitting at the lowest elevation below sea level globally (around 430 meters), it's basically the navel of the Earth. · The water here is 9-10 times saltier than your average ocean. · This extreme salinity means no fish or aquatic plants can survive (hence the name "Dead Sea"), but the crazy high water density also lets you "float effortlessly" without even trying. · Black Mud: Packed with minerals like magnesium, potassium, and calcium, it's amazing for nourishing the skin and effectively treating skin conditions. 🗣️ Pro Tips Grab a Jordan Pass for the package that fits your needs. I flew PKC→Milkovo charter (heli or 6WD 10 hrs—operator bundled, ~USD 400/day with gear), registered the route with the Kamchatka Volcanoes Park, and trekked 3 days from the Kipyashchy Dol log hut to the North Breach cinder cones. The "mossy lava field" is a misnomer but real in pockets: where snowmelt pools on 2012 basalt, Racomitrium and Bryum colonize the vesicle pits, and the "Forest of the Dead" (larch killed by 1975 ash) wears Metzeria lichen-moss on the bleached trunks. I walked the lava tube mouth at 09:00, the moss only in the 2 m shade strips, everything else 40°C radiant heat off black rock. No water source—carry 5 L/day, the lava sucks moisture. Mistake: I trusted a "3-day Tolbachik" budget and the 6WD broke down—build 1 buffer day, heli evac is RUB 200k+. Another: I touched a fumarole sulfur cone for a photo and melted the boot toe; 10 m clearance. Would you commit Tolbachik as a 4-day guided lava-field traverse with the North Breach sunrise, or skip it for Mutnovsky+Gorely and save Tolbachik for a dedicated expedition year?

Masada Ancient Fortress is built atop a mountain at the junction of the desert and the Dead Sea. It was a Jewish fortress during the Roman period, famous for the tragic history of Jewish rebels resisting the Roman legions. Under the siege of the Roman army, Masada, as the last stronghold of the Jewish kingdom, fell, with all soldiers committing suicide, marking the beginning of the Jewish diaspora around the world. The Masada fortress stands in a barren desert, making it hard to imagine the immense effort it took to build this castle. The eastern side of Masada features a 450-meter cliff, while the western side has a 100-meter vertical cliff. To reach the summit, there was originally only a winding "Snake Path" along the slope of the mountain, with the last few dozen meters almost vertical. Today, visitors can choose to take a cable car up the mountain to enjoy the magnificent panoramic view of Masada. The ruins inside the ancient fortress include reservoirs, baths, palaces, theaters, Christian churches, defensive structures, and more, all cleverly and exquisitely arranged. In 1991, Masada was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

There are many ice cream shops along the Dead Sea beachfront shopping street, so finding them wasn't difficult. Ein Bokek, 8693000

#JulyTravelSupportEvent Meal at the Dead Sea in Israel. The lamb was delicious, but so was the grilled salmon. The salmon was incredibly generous. Pita bread is served with salad and sauce. The beer was pricey, but I ordered it because I thought it would pair well with the meal.
