#easytravelpost The two Fusine lakes (Lago Superiore 929 m, Lago Inferiore 906 m) sit under the Julian Alps on the Italy–Slovenia border, 20 km from Tarvisio. I took a train from Udine to Tarvisio (12 EUR, 2 hrs), then a bus to Fusine (3 EUR, 25 min, 6× daily). Entry to the lakeshore path is free; the car park is 5 EUR if you drive.
The trail from Lago Inferiore to Lago Superiore is 1.2 km of mossy forest — beech and fir, moss on every root, the lakes visible through gaps, the water dark green from tannins. I reached the Superior shore at 09:50, the moss coming down to the waterline, a flat calm surface reflecting the Mangart and Jalovec walls. A family of ducks paddled out from the reeds; I sat on a moss log at 10:10 and ate a 3 EUR panino from the Tarvisio station bar.
The loop around Superior is 2.5 km, mostly boardwalk; the north side is the mossy bit, where seepage from the mountainside keeps the ground emerald year-round. I finished the loop at 11:20, then walked back to Inferiore for a 4 EUR espresso at the Rifugio Zacchi (card OK).
Mistake: I came in November and the bus runs once a day — May–Oct for 6× frequency; off-season carry 20 EUR for a Tarvisio taxi. Another: the 5 EUR car park is machine-only, no attendant, no change given; bring 5 EUR coins. Would you bus to Fusine for the free mossy shore loop under Mangart, or drive and pay 5 EUR to be 200 m closer?

Mesmerized by the Power and Beauty of a Majestic Waterfall
The immense power and unrivaled beauty of this waterfall left me in awe. It's moments like these that remind us of nature's grandeur and our place within its majesty. The sound of water crashing and spraying around us, the aroma of fresh air, and the natural rainbows from the mist - we were completely mesmerized! The enormity and forcefulness of the falls were impossible to ignore, a primordial force that held us transfixed. 😍💦🌈🌲
