Starting from Geneva, Geneva Canton, what I thought would be an ordinary trip turned out to be full of surprises, as if stepping into a hybrid world of fairy tales and movies! 🏞️ Thun Castle & Thun Town Thun became one of my favorite towns on this trip. Nestled by Lake Thun, its streets are lined with colorful houses and flower-filled balconies, along with a charming wooden bridge and hidden fountains. At the heart of the town stands Thun Castle, with its white walls and red roof. Climbing the castle tower offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire lake region. 🌟 Exclusive experience recommendation: Sit at a café in the old town, order a cappuccino, and watch the snow-capped mountains shimmer in the distance—100% therapeutic. 🚞 Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe Riding the world's highest-altitude cogwheel train to the summit of Jungfraujoch was the most spectacular part of this journey. Departing from Interlaken, the train winds through snow-capped mountain tunnels and glacial platforms, finally reaching the "Top of Europe" at 3,454 meters above sea level. You can visit the Sphinx Observatory, standing on the edge of the Alpine ridge to overlook the glaciers, or step into the Ice Palace and walk through ice tunnels adorned with crystal sculptures—like entering the real world of "Frozen." 🌟 Note: The thin air at the summit may be challenging, so take it slow—every step is worth savoring. 🌲 Lauterbrunnen Valley, Interlaken District Dubbed the "most beautiful valley in Switzerland," it lives up to its reputation. The entire valley feels like a place where fairies dwell: 72 waterfalls cascade vertically from towering cliffs, with mist swirling through the valley—serene yet awe-inspiring. The most spectacular among them is Staubbach Falls, plunging nearly 300 meters directly into the valley, making it one of Europe's highest free-falling waterfalls. You can walk along the trail behind the falls and feel the power of the spray rushing toward you. 🌊 Trümmelbach Falls This is Lauterbrunnen's most mysterious spot. Ten waterfalls are hidden inside the mountain, formed by glacial meltwater, roaring through the rocks like nature's underground symphony. After taking an elevator inside the falls, you can stand in narrow stone caves and watch the waterfalls pour down beneath you—deafening but utterly mesmerizing. One of the few "internal mountain waterfalls" open to the public in the world—highly recommended! 📌 Final thoughts: This isn't a traditional "checklist tour of Switzerland" but a journey into the intersection of nature, culture, and dreams. What amazed me most wasn't just the snow-capped mountains and lakes, but the hidden beauty waiting quietly to be discovered.

 The most mesmerizing stretch of the journey undoubtedly lies between Thun ➡️ Interlaken ➡️ Lucerne. The ever-changing scenery and kaleidoscope of colors outside the window make each moment feel like a meticulously crafted masterpiece 🎨. You'll find yourself glued to the window, phone in hand, savoring the breathtaking views 🌄🌅.

We strolled through the old town and had. rest at the Aare river (photo 2). Getting There - by car or train from Berne Attractions - 1. Thun castle was built in the 1100s (photo 8&9) from where you have a beautiful view over the city. We walked through the old town where we like most Obere Hauptgasse (photo 4) 2. The cogwheel train ride up offers spectacular views; we recommend sitting on the left side facing forward. After exploring the summit, return to Kaltbad First station and take the cable car down to Weggis, a small, beautiful, and less crowded town where you can fully immerse yourself in the gentle charm of a Swiss town. If you're traveling to Switzerland, staying around Interlaken, and have some spare time but aren't sure where to go next, I highly recommend the nearby town of Thun. It takes just a little over an hour by boat to get there. It's an incredibly charming town with a fantastic atmosphere. However, make sure to check the boat schedule carefully, as there are only two departures a day. The boat ride itself is thoroughly enjoyable as you take in the scenery along both banks. You get to admire mountains and villages throughout the cruise, and the weather is perfectly cool and breezy. It's an absolutely blissful experience! 🥺💗

Switzerland's largest garrison is located in Thun, which is also a popular surfing destination for locals. Thun has been inhabited since as early as 2,500 BC. The majestic white castle, Thun Castle, was built by the Dukes of Zähringen. The castle features a defensive tower constructed between 1180 and 1190. Inside the tower, the historical museum houses prehistoric and early historical artifacts, medieval items, as well as weapons and uniforms from the 18th and 19th centuries. It also includes ceramic and toy exhibitions. The highlight of the castle is the restored Knights Hall, which dates back to the 12th century. Other attractions in Thun's old town include the city church with its tower built around 1330, the 16th-century town hall, the old town itself, and the restaurants and cafes along the Aare River. Swiss Travel Pass (STP) holders can enjoy free boat rides from Thun to Interlaken West.

🇨🇭 Many people visiting Lake Thun head to the southern shore towns, such as around Spiez · 🚡 This time, we stayed halfway up the north shore in Beatenberg, and with the Swiss Pass, we could take the downhill cable car to the lakeside for free, so we decided to spend a day exploring the north shore of Lake Thun · 🏘️ The towns of Merligen, Gunten, and Oberhofen on the north shore are quieter and more local compared to the south shore, with better views directly facing the Alps · 🏰 There aren’t any particularly stunning spots along this line, so there were almost no other tourists along the way. The most iconic site might be Oberhofen Castle, a castle built by the water, though unfortunately it’s closed to the public in winter · 🚌 Bus 21 connects these towns perfectly from Interlaken to Thun · 🫟 If you enjoy slow travel, the north shore really offers that “Swiss lakeside living” vibe ·
