All Trip Moments about Tiberias | Travel Experiences
This is one of my best experiences in Israel, you will be enthuse and captivated if you ever visit this area, especially if you’re of the Christian faith. Take a tour one day and go experience a little of history. The Sea of Galilee, Lake Tiberias, Kinneret or Kinnereth, is a freshwater lake in Israel. It is the lowest freshwater lake on Earth and the second-lowest lake in the world, at levels between 215 metres and 209 metres below sea level. It is approximately 53 km in circumference, about 21 km long, and 13 km wide.

The ideal place for pilgrimage to Jesus Baptism
In addition to the baptism of Jesus, there are many religious sites in the Sea of Galilee, so visitors here often choose Tiberias to settle. Prima Galil Hotel Prima Galil Hotel is located in the heart of the city, overlooking the Sea of Galilee and a huge olive tree on the sky terrace. The decoration details of the
hotel are also very interesting. The small ore on the wall and the roots of the bed are full of Galilee's little charm.

The beautiful Lake Galilee is Israel's largest freshwater lake. Many of Jesus' missionary sacs are here, so it has the reputation of Jesus' second hometown. Nowadays, it is a leisure and holiday destination for Israelis. The clear lake water is rich in fish, and it attracts many waterfowls. It is a rare sight in the Middle East where water resources are scarce.

On the Mount Bafu on the northern shore of Lake Galilee, there is a Roman architectural church to commemorate the preaching of Jesus here more than two thousand years ago. This exquisite church is not only elegant, but also overlooks the sparkling shadows of the Sea of Galilee. Inside the Eight-Four Hall, the eight-bell-shaped vaulted window engraves a fragment of Jesus' eight blessings.

Israel Galilee Mountains: Mount Arbel cliffs overlooking the Sea of Galilee
#itinerarycheck Mount Arbel (181 m above the lake, 390 m above sea level) gives the single best vertical drop view over the Sea of Galilee (Kinneret). The cliff path is part pilgrimage, part scramble, and wholly managed by the Israel Nature and Parks Authority.
Transport: From Tiberias, bus 55 to Arbel Junction (ILS 6.50, Rav-Kav card only — buy at the station, no cash). Then 2 km walk on asphalt to the park gate. Or rent a bike in Tiberias (ILS 60/day) and lock it at the gate.
The route: Pay ILS 29 entry (foreigner rate, card OK). The trail splits: the “family” path circles the western slope; the “cliff” path (marked black-red-black) drops 250 m via fixed iron rungs and a 30 m chain section. Not for kids or anyone with knee issues. At the bottom, the Arbel Stream flows (dry July–Oct). Climb back via the opposite saddle — 45 min up, shaded by Mediterranean scrub oak.
History layer: The cliffs hide 1st-century Jewish zealot caves (Herod’s troops smoked them out); a 5th-c. synagogue sits at the foot. The park brochure (ILS 5) explains; the on-site ranger gave me a better verbal tour.
Errors: I carried 1 L water in May — not enough; the exposed cliff bakes. 2.5 L minimum. Hat mandatory.
Costs: Bus ILS 13 + entry 29 + brochure5 + water ILS 12 = ILS 59 ≈ USD 16.
Viewpoint note: At sunset the lake turns silver and the Golan ridge goes purple. I shared the cliff edge with a group of Israeli soldiers on leave — they said Arbel is where they bring guests “to show the country is small but loud.”
Discussion: Israel charges for nature; the ticket funds trail repair. In Lebanon or Iran the same hike is free but unmaintained. Which model serves hikers better long-term? I’m pro-ticket-if-transparent. You?

🏛 Capernaum is an ancient city on the shores of the Sea of Galilee.
Capernaum is one of the most famous historical sites in Galilee. This ancient city is located on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee and today is a large open-air archaeological park. Travelers come here to see the well-preserved ruins, stroll among the ancient streets, and enjoy the beautiful views of the lake.
Capernaum's main attraction is its ancient synagogue, built of white limestone. Despite its age, it has been remarkably well preserved and is considered one of the most beautiful archaeological finds in Israel. Nearby are the remains of residential buildings, narrow streets, and courtyards, allowing one to imagine what the city looked like many centuries ago.
One of the most recognizable structures in the complex is a modern church, built on high piers above the archaeological site. Its unusual architecture makes it seem to float above the ancient ruins, harmoniously blending modern design with its historical heritage.
After exploring the complex, it is worth taking a stroll along the shore of the Sea of Galilee. A tranquil atmosphere reigns here, and the clear water and green palm trees create a pleasant contrast with the ancient stone buildings.
💡 Useful information:
· 📍 Address for taxis: Capernaum National Park, Capernaum, Sea of Galilee, Israel.
· 🕗 The best time to visit is in the morning, before it's too hot and there are still a few tourists.
· 🎟 An entrance ticket is usually purchased to enter the archaeological complex.
· ⏳ It is recommended to allow 1-2 hours for the tour.
· 👟 The complex is entirely pedestrian, so comfortable shoes are recommended.
· 🚶 Capernaum is conveniently visited in conjunction with Tabgha, the Mount of Beatitudes, and Yardenit—all these attractions are located close to each other.
· 📷 The best photos are taken near the ancient synagogue, the modern church on piers, and on the shore of the Sea of Galilee.
Interestingly, the name Capernaum translates as "Nahum's village." Archaeologists continue to explore this ancient city, and new finds are helping to better understand life on the shores of the Sea of Galilee many centuries ago.
Capernaum is a place where history blends with beautiful nature. Ancient ruins, the picturesque coastline of the Sea of Galilee, and a tranquil atmosphere make it one of the most fascinating attractions in northern Israel.

🏛️✨ Itinerary Check: Should You Add Umm Qais, Jordan? 🇯🇴
#itinerarycheck
Thinking about adding Umm Qais to your Jordan itinerary? YES, definitely! 😍🇯🇴 Located in northern Jordan, this ancient city offers a completely different experience compared to Petra and Wadi Rum.
Umm Qais is famous for its impressive Roman ruins, black basalt architecture and one of the most breathtaking views in Jordan — overlooking the Sea of Galilee, the Golan Heights and surrounding landscapes. 🌄🏛️
My suggestion: come in the morning and spend more time here until the afternoon ☀️ because the site is bigger than many people expect. Take your time exploring the ruins, walking around and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. 🤍
It may not be as famous as Petra, but the history, views and unforgettable memories make Umm Qais a place worth adding to your Jordan trip! 🇯🇴✨

The Sea of Galilee, as vast as the ocean
Located in northern Israel, the Sea of Galilee, despite being called a 'lake,' appeared as vast and majestic as an ocean. The endless waves, gentle breeze, and the surrounding hills created a serene and peaceful atmosphere.
This place is well-known as a site of Jesus' ministry, and several churches are situated around it. Among them, the Capernaum Church, built on ancient ruins, was a place that evoked stories from the Bible. The combination of ancient ruins and a modern church was striking, and the tranquil setting provided a moment for quiet reflection.
At the Church of the Multiplication, visitors can see mosaic patterns on the floor, which, though simple, conveyed profound meaning. It was a place where calmness and peace were more prominent than grandeur.
The Sea of Galilee is not just a tourist destination but a special place where one can feel both the beauty of nature and the significance of faith. Gazing at the vast lake offered a moment to lay down one's burdens and find peace.
✔️ The vast and peaceful scenery of the Sea of Galilee
✔️ A meaningful experience visiting biblical sites
✔️ A quiet and serene atmosphere for reflection

Sea of Galilee
#July Travel Support Event A large lake in the northern part of Israel, Galilee. The east borders the Sea of Galilee and the Jordan River, and is divided into upper and lower parts, with Upper Galilee being a rugged plateau and Lower Galilee being a fertile plain with little ups and downs. In the 1st century, during the time of Jesus, it was the territory of Herod Antipas, and this region, including the towns of Tiberias, Capernaum, Nazareth, Cana, and Magdala, was the main stage for Jesus' missionary work, and most of the apostles and disciples came from here.

The Church of the Beatitudes
The Mount of Beatitudes is a hill in Northern Israel on the Korazim Plateau. It is the spot where Jesus is believed to have delivered his Sermon on the Mount. Overlooking the northwestern shore of the Sea of Galilee, the mount offers enchanting views of the northern part of the lake and across to the cliffs of the Golan Heights.
There is archaeological evidence of an ancient church near to the current building dating from the late 4th century, which coincides with the pilgrimages that were recorded around the same time. Its rock-cut cistern and the remains of a small monastery can still be seen. Part of an original mosaic floor from Capernaum is also on display. Although the specific site where Jesus stood and delivered his sermon has never been confirmed through physical evidence, the location of the Mount of Beatitudes is entirely reasonable, as Jesus was based in Capernaum, which is located just a few miles away and is clearly visible from the mount.
While religiously significant for obvious reasons, one does not have to be religious to enjoy the beauty of this site. Although a visit to the church will make clear why it is so special in Christianity, non-religious visitors can also admire and appreciate its unique atmosphere and incredible architecture.
HOW TO GET THERE
Public transport: The site can be reached via Route 90, a steep road that climbs up from the Sea Of Galilee from Tabcha Junction. From Tel Aviv there are regular trains to Tiberias central station and from there you can take a bus.

Good location and high cost performance
It has complete facilities and beautiful environment. Even though it is built at Mong Kok East Railway Station, there will be no noise. The room is beautiful, the double bed is Queen size, the staff is very polite and has a good service attitude. The only problem is that the toilet and bathtub are not very hygienic, but everything else is good. #Cost-effective hotel

The epidemic situation has improved, and I came to the Royal Plaza Hotel again for three days and two nights. The location of the hotel is very convenient. What I like most is that there is a bathtub in the room for bathing, which the children like. The hotel service attitude is good, the lobby and rooms are very clean, and there is an animal park nearby, which is very suitable for children to play. After playing, I went to the hotel bakery to buy mango mille-feuille and returned to the room to enjoy.
