Although not a large city, it holds a significant place in Japanese Sengoku history. This is the site of Sanada Maru, the stronghold of the Sanada Yukimura clan. On the walk from the station to the Ueda Castle ruins, you pass by the ancient battlefield. Images of galloping warhorses and fluttering banners involuntarily floated into my mind ⚔️.
