How to see Ufa in 2 days?
When I was preparing for the trip, I read that Ufa has nothing to see. But I disagree. We spent two full days in the city, and here's what we saw:
The Museum of Archeology and Ethnography. Beautiful national costumes, a hall of archaeological finds, and the museum's and Ufa's crown jewel—Sarmatian gold. These unique gold pieces date back to the 4th century BC and were found in the Filippovsky burial mounds.
The Aksakov Museum is the house where the writer best known for his work "The Scarlet Flower" lived. Nearby is Sofyushkina Alley.
Ufa's most important monument, the city's calling card, is the Salavat Yulaev Monument. It sits on a hill and offers stunning views of the Belaya River. It is currently undergoing restoration.
Another monument is the Friendship Monument and, nearby, the Ufa Colonnade. In fact, the entire historic center of Ufa is located between these monuments.
- "Seven Girls" Fountain
- Gostiny Dvor
- Ethno Village - buy local souvenirs, very beautiful and interesting.
- "I love Ufa" sign in Bashkir - area of two fountains.
- "Art-Kvadrat" - a creative modern space. I would recommend visiting; I liked it.
- Lyalya Tyulpan Mosque - Ufa's main mosque. It's quite far from the center, but if you go, there's a park nearby where you can stroll.
Pushkin Street - glows in the evening, like Nikolskaya Street in Moscow.
Lenin Street also has beautiful lighting and sculptures in the evening.
Ufa's most historic street is Oktyabrskaya Revolyutsiya. But I don't recommend going there, as you won't be disappointed. Unfortunately, the houses are abandoned and falling apart. Some beautiful window frames can still be found.
Where to eat?
- House of Bashkir Cuisine - there wasn't much national cuisine, but everything was delicious and inexpensive.
- AzykTyulek, a local restaurant
- "Cafe for Friends" breakfasts
Ufa also has its own Lemonarium, which we didn't have time to visit.
Bashkiria's main attraction is its natural beauty. One of the most accessible by public transport is the Aigir Rocks. You can take a tour, or explore on your own.
And there are many other excursions in the surrounding area.
Overall impression: very clean, delicious, and beautiful.
