Location details below! This gem of a swimming hole is hidden in one of the most iconic state parks in Texas. Garner State Park and the Frio River are a beautiful oasis in the Texas hill country. This spot is near the Pavilion (gift shop, Garner Grill, mini golf). Walk to the north side of the pavilion and you’ll see a sign for the “madrone walkway”. Go down there! Towards the bottom, there is an unmarked off-shoot trail to the left. Take this, walk along the skinny concrete blocks, and you’re there! Slightly hidden from the major crowds, this spot offers some seclusion from the masses. If you walk even further north along the river, you will have even more privacy. Enjoyed a nice outing with my little buddy dasher. He made this look too easy but I surely enjoyed having him along. Hopefully the next venture will be just as beautiful and quiet. I do admit, there is nothing like a Texas sunset.
