Waipunga Falls feels accessible yet untouched, offering a quick but memorable encounter with New Zealand’s remarkable natural landscapes and a refreshing glimpse of the country’s wild side.

From Napier, we passed through the three interesting venues. It was raining along the way however Alhamdullillah, it was not a downpour. Start your day surrounded by the wild beauty of Waipunga Falls, splash into Taupo City Centre for eats and urban fun, then cap it off at the thundering spectacle of Huka Falls—the ultimate nature-meets-town itinerary! Waipunga Falls: Must-do – stroll to the lookout for panoramic waterfall views and snap dramatic shots from the roadside car park (bring a wide-angle lens for full waterfall glory!). Taupo City Centre: Refuel at local cafés, wander boutique shops, and chill at the lakefront. Tip: parking is easiest in the Lake Terrace area, but weekends get busy! Huka Falls: Get wowed by the turquoise rush—stand on the footbridge for the best close-up shots, and don’t miss the upper viewing platforms for sweeping river photos. Aim for late afternoon when the sunlight hits the falls just right. Tip: hold onto your hat, it gets gusty! Moving further north, we came across the beautiful Waipunga Falls. A more wonderful view with the rainy conditions. We had a short pause at Lake Taupo then proceeded to Huka falls. A very wonderful experience to be near possible to view the waterfall and the blue beautiful river water! NZ kept entertaining us differently every day!
