Wuqi travel guide and discussion

Although there are as many as ten ancient pagodas designated as national heritage sites within Qingyang, most are hidden far away in mountain ridges and gullies. To see them all, you have to venture into the mountains time and again, with one-way trips of one or two hours being the norm. The Jiaozhachuan Wanfo Pagoda is one of the more remote ones. · We drove from Qingcheng, and it took over two hours to cross the mountains and ridges. The last stretch of the road was difficult, with severe damage from mudslides. The pagoda is located in Ta'erwa, Chuanpan Village, Zifangpan Township, Huachi County. It sits on a terrace on the west bank of the Jiaozhachuan River. While you are still in Gansu, a short distance to the north is Wuqi County in Shaanxi, and to the east is Zhidan County in Shaanxi. · At first glance, the Wanfo Pagoda is not very tall, but from the road, you can see its octagonal, conical red sandstone shape peeking out from the edge of the plateau. The spire is long gone, leaving only the eight-meter-tall stone pagoda standing alone in the open valley. Climbing up to the terrace, perhaps because it is so remote, the surrounding area remains in its original state. I actually like this, as you can see the pagoda in its original form. · The Jiaozhachuan Wanfo Pagoda was built during the Song Dynasty. Although it seems remote now, it must have been a major thoroughfare back then. The pagoda was constructed from locally carved and polished red sandstone, with an octagonal base that tapers as it rises. Each side of the pagoda body is carved with three layers of Buddha statues, with six figures per layer, totaling about 1,008 figures, hence the name "Wanfo" (Ten Thousand Buddhas). Compared to the statues on Song Dynasty pagodas in the Central Plains, with their flowing robes and intricate ornaments, the Buddhas here look more like they were "chiseled" out of the stone by craftsmen, one stroke at a time. They are less elegant, but they carry the clumsy sincerity of the loess plateau. · Unfortunately, among the thousand-plus Buddhas, the first, second, eighth, and ninth layers have been eroded by nature, leaving only traces. The heads of the Buddhas on the other layers have also been smashed, though their bodies remain largely intact. The stone tablet at the base of the pagoda is weathered and illegible. As the mountain wind blows past these headless Buddhas, their shadows rotate across the eight sides of the pagoda, like a bell that never stops ringing. · During the wave of pagoda thefts at the beginning of this century, the Shuangshi Pagoda in Huachi and the Ta'erwan Stone Pagoda in Heshui were both stolen, and by the time they were recovered, the structures had suffered irreversible damage. The Jiaozhachuan Wanfo Pagoda is lucky, as its remote location and difficult access have ironically become its protection. Driving two hours to see it, you see not just a Song Dynasty pagoda, but stone carvings that the mountains of eastern Gansu have protected in their own way for a thousand years. · 🏠 Name: Jiaozhachuan Wanfo Pagoda 🎫 Admission: Free ⛳ Location: Jiaozhachuan, Zifangpan Township, Huachi County, Qingyang City

Yan'an in July is really an underestimated summer town 🌄 It's a little over 30 degrees in the daytime, it's so cool in the morning and evening that you have to wear a thin coat, and the wind blows on the loess slope is not baked at all. I just got back from playing there for three days. I spread my stored dry goods in a row, so I basically won't be deceived. 🥢 Let’s talk about food first, Erdao Street Night Market is here for me to rush! It's best to go there at 7 or 8pm. There is a row of kiln-dong style dining carts along the street. Spicy lamb hoof, potato rub, Yan'an dip, and Zichang pancake sweep one by one. The bottom of the dipping pot even does not put oil, the dipping sauce is vinegar bubble garlic + sesame sauce, ten dollars squeeze a large handful, I ate two plates alone😂 Zilong pancakes thin like paper, rolled tofu or pastry meat, with garlic soup sour and spicy appetizer. If you want to sit down and eat, go to "Fu Yuen Chiang" old-fashioned restaurant. It costs more than 20 dollars per person. You can try lamb noodles, rice with money and rice bowls. Wu Qi chop soba noodles must be tried, when Chairman Mao Long March to Wu Qi is to eat this, the noodles are "chopped" out not rolled, with mutton soup fresh to disgrace. Take two bags of dog-head dates as souvenirs, produced in Yanchuan, thick flesh and high sweetness, firmer than the kind sold in supermarkets. 🏨 Accommodation I chose near Pagoda Mountain This time I stayed in the area of Center Street in the Pagoda District. The starting price of a taxi is to reach the Pagoda Hill, Erdao Street, and the Revolution Memorial Hall. If you have a limited budget, you can stay in AI to stay in the future or Zhiping Hotel, one hundred and six to one hundred and eight dollars to get it done, intelligent customer control + giant screen projection, after climbing the mountain back to the room paralyzed there just right. If you want to be more comfortable, go to Meili Hao Pagoda Mountain store, 300 dollars, open the window can see the night view of Pagoda, Yanhe breeze cool. Bringing elders and children can consider Yan'an Guesthouse, old-fashioned service is stable, from 445 yuan, ten minutes walk to Erdao Street. If you want to experience the kiln cave, there is a kiln cave B&B inside the Jinyan'an Cultural Tourism Zone. The push door is to imitate the old Yan'an street scene. NPCs in Eighth Route Army uniforms walk all over the street. Photography is quite interesting, but the facilities are retro. If you mind, old friends should choose carefully. 📸 Attractions so line up will not get tired Day1 Get off the plane to go to Baota Mountain, tickets + round-trip sightseeing car 20 dollars, lazy gospel do not have to climb hard, the top overlooking Yan'an scenery + Yanhe bend, before sunset to the most beautiful light 🌅 down the mountain along the way to Qingliang Mountain, Wanfo Temple Grottoes in the middle of the mountain, few people quiet. Day2 Date Garden → Yangjialing → Yan'an Revolution Memorial Hall A series of walks, all three are free but you must bring your ID card to make an appointment, the memorial hall is closed on Monday do not hit the board. The site of the Seventh Congress of the Communist Party of China in Yangjialing is a must-see. The kiln cave area is very retro for photography. Leave the night for the red show "Yan'an Yan'an" or "Yan'an Conservatory", 214 and 198 dollars tickets, dance beauty is really not perfunctory tourism performance, after watching the eyes easily wet. Day3 physical strength enough to charter a car to Hukou Waterfall, one way two hours, tickets 75 dollars, after the rain more intense water but heavy rain and fog to wear a windshield d. If you don't want to run so far, change to Nan Mui Wan or 1938 block. It's good to eat and walk around. ☀️ A few error-prone tips July UV rays are really strong, SPF50 + sunscreen + hat + sunglasses three things do not skimp, I was lazy and did not wear a hat back of the neck sunburned red. The temperature difference between morning and evening can reach 12 degrees. Wear short-sleeved jackets during the day and wear a thin jacket at night. "Wear a cotton coat in the morning and wear a yarn in the afternoon" is not as simple as saying. It is easy to have light rain around the 10th, the spout and rain fork if arranged, pay attention to the weather in advance, after the rain the spout is more spectacular but the steps are slippery. Dining inside the scenic area is rather expensive, but local restaurants on Erdao Street and Center Street are much more cost-effective. It is recommended to take a taxi or rent a car directly out of the HSR station. It is not far between the urban attractions, but it is really helpless to go to Hukou and Qiankun Bay without a car. In addition to dog head dates, you can bring some souvenirs such as Yan'an millet and oily dumplings, all of which are eaten by locals themselves. Tickets and performance tickets on Journey can be booked one day in advance. The two shows on the summer weekend are easily full. If you want to watch, lock in your seats early. The overall average of $800 to $1200 per person can be very comfortable to play, cheaper than imagined.

#September2025 Entering the Wuqi Red Army Long March Victory Memorial Park, a tranquil and solemn atmosphere permeates the air. This loessland of northern Shaanxi was once a pivotal turning point in history, where the Long March declared victory. The footprints and stories of countless revolutionary pioneers echo through the wind and sand. The sculptures within the park are majestic and powerful, as if still narrating that arduous and arduous journey. Walking slowly along the memorial avenue, the red brick walls against the backdrop of the majestic mountains naturally stir in my heart a sense of reverence, as if I could hear the military bugles and oaths of those days. Tourizing the exhibition hall, the photographs and manuscripts displayed on the walls made me feel like I was in conversation with the soldiers of that era. They sacrificed their lives to bring about the dawn of our nation, and with their perseverance, they taught future generations the meaning of faith. Standing before the monument, the gentle breeze caressing my face, my heart is filled with a cherishment for peace and admiration for courage. Wuqi is not only a historical landmark, but also an enduring spiritual reminder, reminding us to remain true to our original aspirations in every era.
