The stilt houses, built along the mountains and rivers, are scattered in an orderly fashion. The light and shadow of the red lanterns dance on the buildings, as if narrating ancient stories. From a distance, the entire village resembles a dazzling pearl, nestled amidst the karst landscape. 🔥Molten Iron Fireworks: A Golden Star Shower at 1600℃ The molten iron fireworks performance is the highlight of the Fenglin Buyi night tour! When 1600℃ molten iron is splashed into the night sky, it instantly transforms into a shower of golden stars, falling like rain, a spectacle so breathtaking it leaves you speechless! Children jump with excitement, and adults can't help but exclaim in awe. In this moment, all worries are cast aside, leaving only the dazzling display before your eyes and the profound shock in your heart. 🎨Batik Workshop: Hand-Paint a "Flying Fish" At the batik workshop, you can personally experience the traditional Buyi handicraft – batik. Use a wax knife to draw patterns like "flying fish" on white cloth, then immerse it in an indigo dye vat. After oxidation and washing, a unique batik artwork is complete! Seeing your own hand-painted creation brings an immense sense of accomplishment! 🎵Eight-Tone Sitting and Singing: Ancient Melodies Fill the Air Eight-Tone Sitting and Singing is a traditional Buyi narrative art form, performed with eight instruments including the ox-bone erhu, bamboo zither, and thorn drum. The melodies are graceful and full of ancient charm. Sitting on a wooden bench in the Ancient Banyan Tree Plaza, close your eyes and quietly listen to these ancient tunes. It feels as if you can travel through time, experiencing the wisdom and emotions of the Buyi people. 🔥Torch Parade: Through the Ancient Banyan Tree Plaza Under the night sky, the torch parade winds through the Ancient Banyan Tree Plaza. The blazing torches illuminate the entire plaza and ignite the enthusiasm of everyone present. Buyi girls and boys, dressed in traditional attire, sing and dance. Tourists can also join in, experiencing this pure joy and festivity together. 📸Photo Guide: Lighter Clothes for Better Shots The night scenery of Fenglin Buyi is so beautiful it's speechless; every casual shot is a masterpiece! We recommend wearing light-colored clothes, such as white or beige, as they will appear softer and more dreamlike under the glow of the red lanterns. Recommended photo spots: In front of the Stilt Houses: Take a full-body shot with the red lanterns and stilt houses as the background for an instant atmospheric boost! Batik Workshop: Strike an artistic pose in front of your batik artwork to capture this unique experience. Ancient Banyan Tree Plaza: Stand next to the torch parade, and have your photographer shoot from the side to capture the light and shadow of the torches and the lively atmosphere. By Langshao Lake: At night, Langshao Lake shimmers, reflecting the light of the red lanterns. A back-shot here is simply breathtaking! 🍜Food Recommendations: Savor Buyi Specialty Snacks Beyond the night tour, you certainly can't miss the local cuisine! The Fenglin Buyi Scenic Area offers various Buyi specialty snacks. We recommend trying the following: Lamb Rice Noodles: As "the hometown of lamb rice noodles," Xingyi's lamb rice noodles are naturally a must-try delicacy. Fresh lamb, smooth rice noodles, paired with special sauce and chili oil – fragrant, fresh, and spicy, leaving you wanting more! Buyi Eight Big Bowls: This is the best feast Buyi people offer to guests, including eight dishes such as braised pork trotters with golden beans, braised pork belly with tofu fruit, and stewed pork skin. They are colorful, delicious, and nutritious. Qiu's Egg Cake: Soft and fragrant, not overly sweet, it's one of the popular internet-famous snacks in the scenic area – definitely give it a try! Ash Tofu Chicken: Ash tofu and chicken are stewed together. The tofu soaks up the savory chicken broth, and the chicken becomes even more tender. The taste is truly unique. 💡Practical Tips: Make Your Night Tour Perfect Book Tickets in Advance: Tickets for the Fenglin Buyi Scenic Area can be booked in advance via WeChat mini-program. The basic price is 79 RMB (including admission + sightseeing car), and residents of Qianxinan Prefecture enjoy a special price of 9 RMB, which is a great deal! Bring a Light Jacket: The mountain air can be cool at night, so remember to bring a light jacket to avoid catching a chill. Arrive Early to Secure a Spot: Performances like the molten iron fireworks are very popular, so it's advisable to arrive early to secure a good spot for better photos and to fully enjoy the show. I visited Xingyi, Guizhou during the peak season and discovered many ways to optimize routes and avoid pitfalls. I'm writing this down in the hope that it will be helpful to friends who are planning to go soon~ 1️⃣ Maling River Canyon 🔹 Just want to photograph the waterfall: No need to enter the scenic area. Navigate directly to Maling River Canyon Bridge (Jinzhou Old Bridge). You can get a free "God's eye view" from the bridge (p3) 🔹 Want to enter the scenic area: Be sure to arrive early during peak season. Enter from Xiaoqingshan -> exit at Xiaoqingshan/Dachaiwo. After seeing the "Ten Thousand Horses Galloping" waterfall, you can come out and see the view from the bridge 2️⃣ Wanfenglin Scenic Area 🔹 Don't enter the scenic area: Rent an e-bike to explore Wanfenglin. The best section is Nahui Village. Definitely avoid going at noon or in the afternoon, as it gets congested 🔹 Want to enter the scenic area: Enter after 4:00–5:00 PM; the queues are much shorter. Personally, I don't think it's necessary to go inside; riding a bike below is better 3️⃣ Wanfeng Lake/Jilong Castle A must-visit. It's less crowded and the scenery is beautiful. If you want to avoid the crowds and see beautiful views, just head straight here 4️⃣ Paddleboarding/Fossil digging Paddleboarding is great in the summer, but it's a bit cold now. Families with children should weigh this option. If you're not particularly interested in fossil digging, there's no need to go ⭕ About accommodation Prices in Xingyi during peak season can double. We booked in nearby Xingren, where prices are affordable and the environment is good. There is a beef restaurant there that is delicious ⭕ About food Sour soup beef is a must-eat, the night market is a must-visit, and the teppanyaki tilapia is really delicious If you have any other questions, feel free to ask me~ A hidden gem of a travel destination worth visiting again and again

Who gets it? 🌄 Finally stayed in my dream mountain retreat Standing at the peak, open the window to a sea of clouds New Chinese-style architecture with flying eaves and upturned corners, white walls and grey tiles Perfectly blending classical Eastern charm with modern simplicity The infinity pool is like a mirror of the sky Sunsets, mountains, and architecture are all reflected on the water, blurring the line between heaven and earth Watch the sunrise break through the clouds in the morning Wait for the orange sunset to blanket the mountains in the evening Warm light spills from the room, while outside the window, clouds roll like waves In this moment, all fatigue is healed by the mountains and rivers Soak by the infinity pool, quietly watching the clouds drift by Far from the city's hustle and bustle, finding a place to call home This is perhaps the mountain living ideal etched into the soul of the Chinese people🌿

Getu River Day Trip | Head to a hidden karst gem and wait for a divine beam of light✨ In the Miao language, "Getu" means holy land. Sunlight pierces through the giant cave, casting a golden beam. With the intangible cultural heritage "Spider-Man" cliff climbing, underground rivers, cliff hanging coffins, and authentic Miao villages all in one place, this is a rare, low-commercial treasure in Guizhou. ⚠️The divine light depends on the weather! From April to early September, see the "Earth Light" (8:30 AM–10:30 AM); from late September to March of the following year, see the "Heavenly Light" (8:00 AM–9:00 AM). It only appears on sunny days; there is no light beam on cloudy days. 🚗Travel Basics 📍Location: Ziyun Getu River Cave Scenic Area, Anshun 🎫Ticket Recommendation: The leisure pass is about CNY 150, including admission, sightseeing bus, boat ride, and the Spider-Man performance. This is enough for a day trip. 🚙Transportation · Self-driving: Navigate to "Getu River Tourist Center". It is about 2.5 hours from Guiyang and 1.5 hours from Anshun. There are many mountain curves, so drive carefully. Parking at the tourist center is CNY 15–20 for the whole day. · Public transport: High-speed train to Anshun West Station → bus to Ziyun County, then transfer to the scenic area shuttle bus. There are few departures, so self-driving or carpooling is preferred for a day trip. 🕘Day Trip Timeline (Light-chasing version, no backtracking) 08:00 AM–08:40 AM | Enter the park at the Tourist Center and head to the light-chasing spot Arrive as early as possible! The window for the divine light is very short. After ticket check, take the scenic shuttle bus directly to the Yingyan Pavilion viewing platform. This is the best spot to see the light. Secure your viewing spot and wait for the moment sunlight pierces through the giant cave. ✅Photo spot: Yingyan Pavilion platform for a full view of the cave; when the light beam appears, capture the Tyndall effect on the river surface for an ethereal atmosphere. 08. 40 AM–09:40 AM | Big Cave, watch the Spider-Man intangible cultural heritage performance After seeing the light, move to the Big Cave (Swallow Cave) and wait for the Spider-Man free-climbing performance. It is a 108m high cliff climb without protection, a skill passed down through generations of the Miao people. The scene is stunning. Performance times are subject to the scenic area's daily announcement, so grab a spot early. The temperature inside the cave is low and feels cool, so remember to bring a light jacket. From April to September, many swallows will be circling inside the cave. 09. 40 AM–11:20 AM | Boat tour of Getu River, explore the hanging coffin ruins Board at the pier and cruise through the karst valley with towering cliffs on both sides and emerald green water. Pass by the mysterious hanging coffin ruins on the cliff; view from a distance only, do not approach. Travel through the underground river of the Big Cave; the giant karst cave rushes towards you, filled with mist, as if entering a fantasy world. If you have enough energy, you can walk a short section of the "Sky-Reaching" plank road for a distant view of the upper cave entrance. 11:20 AM–1:30 PM | Lunch at Dahe Miao Village, experience the local atmosphere The boat docks at Dahe Miao Village, an authentic Miao village surrounded by green mountains, not overly commercialized. 🍜Local food recommendations · Miao Sour Soup Fish: Fresh fish with fermented sour soup, sour and spicy, authentic Guizhou flavor · Firewood Smoked Bacon: Rich smoky aroma, served with local chili dipping sauce · Buckwheat jelly, Ziyun red-hearted sweet potatoes, home-style stir-fry, simple and fresh ingredients There are many farmhouse restaurants in the village where you can experience Miao customs and stroll around the stilt houses. 1:30 PM–3:30 PM | Choose one for free roaming 🔹Relaxed version: Walk around the village, enjoy the breeze by the river, see the landscape, take photos of village culture, and relax. 🔹Active version: Hike to the Upper Cave viewing platform, climb up to overlook the panoramic view of the entire Getu River valley, with a wide field of vision. The plank road is damp and mossy, so be careful and watch your step. 3:30 PM–4:40 PM | Return by boat, take the shuttle bus back to the Tourist Center Allow enough time; the scenic area stops entry around 5:00 PM. Don't stay too late; mountain roads are hard to drive at night. End of the one-day trip. 📸Photography Tips 1. Divine light shooting: Use a wide-angle lens to capture the giant cave + golden light beam; the scene is most ethereal when there is thin mist on the river. A tripod helps get better shots. 2. Outfit: Dark, solid-colored clothes fit the dark cave environment and emerald green water; avoid overly flashy patterns. 3. The light inside the cave is poor, so increase the ISO appropriately to capture the flying swallows and the moment the boat enters the cave. 📌Important Tips 1. Shoes come first! The stone steps on the plank road are damp and covered with moss all year round. You must wear non-slip sneakers; do not wear slippers or sandals. 2. The temperature inside the cave is 5–8°C lower than outside, so carry a light jacket. Mountain weather is changeable, so carry rain gear. 3. The divine light is a natural phenomenon affected by clouds and the sun's angle; it is not 100% guaranteed. Keep an open mind; the landscape and karst caves are beautiful enough on their own. 4. Hanging coffins and stalactites are precious relics; view from a distance, do not touch or climb. 5. There are few kiosks inside the scenic area, so it is recommended to bring your own drinking water and some snacks.

September in Guizhou is one of the most comfortable times of the year☀️. The sun feels warm during the day, and the UV intensity has dropped. If you are worried about getting a tan, wearing a hat🧢 is a good idea, but you will not feel hot. After 5:00 PM🌬️, the mountain breeze shifts and it gets chilly. If you want to sit on the large terrace, you will need to put on a jacket🧥✨. The weather is also nice, mostly crisp and clear autumn days🌤️. Occasionally it is cloudy or rainy, but at most it is just light rain🌧️, which will not affect your plans. This is a great time to visit Guizhou. There are not many tourists🚶, the summer scenery is still there, you can see the golden terraced fields🍂, and you do not have to wait in line at major attractions🎫. The Qunshan Zhixin Xijiang branch is located on the mountaintop outside the West Gate of Qianhu Miao Village, separated from the West Gate by a valley. If you stay inside Qianhu Miao Village, you have to walk through the commercial street to get in and out. If you stay with us, you can drive🚗 four kilometers from the Xijiang highway exit directly to our front door. Our butler will help carry your luggage🧳 to your room, so you do not have to drag your suitcases onto the shuttle bus. Many guests who come here want to visit Qianhu Miao Village. You can go in the afternoon, watch the night view🌃, and then come back. There is no need to spend the night in the noisy scenic area. If you do not want to go to Qianhu Miao Village and want to explore authentic Miao villages, there are many unique small Miao villages behind our Xijiang branch to visit. For example, Langde Shangzhai, which has original folk song and dance performances💃; Kongbai Miao Village, where you can experience making Miao silver jewelry by hand🥈; and Maomaohe Miao Village, where you can try hand-embroidering a Miao-style pattern🧵. If you do not want to go out and just want to have a slow vacation, staying at the hotel is a great choice. The large terrace🛋️ offers a wide view. You can lie on a lounge chair, feel the cool breeze, or pick up a book from the Bicheng Library📚 to browse. When you are tired, you can count the white clouds drifting over Leigong Mountain☁️ or take a nap. It is very quiet on the mountain. Great tits🐦 fly by from time to time, cicadas are still chirping, leaves🍃 drift slowly in the wind, and occasionally you can hear the crowing of roosters🐔 or the barking of Xiasi dogs🐕 from the Baibi Miao Village on the mountainside. Autumn in Xijiang does not have mountains full of red leaves🍁. The trees on Leigong Mountain are still green. What really turns yellow are the rice paddies🌾 in front of the hotel and around Baibi Village.

Having led groups on countless off-the-beaten-path hikes in Guizhou, Mamayabu Lang Village is definitely a hidden gem in southwestern Guizhou✨ No crowds of tourists, just open the door to a green wilderness that looks like it’s straight out of a game. It truly deserves the title of “real-life Zelda.” This tested, hassle-free self-driving guide can be followed step by step. 🚗 precise navigation and pitfall avoidance guide Set your destination directly to "Mamayabu Town, Lang Village, Xingren City." Don’t search for “Lang Village public restroom” directly! Gaode Map will lead you to a dead-end road at the foot of the mountain, and you’ll waste half an hour trying to find the entrance. When you reach the spot in the second photo, be sure to stop at the roadside stall run by a Buyi ethnic lady. Freshly picked plantains and small eggplants are only 2 yuan per jin, and sweet, sticky papayas are 3 yuan per jin. Buying a few items gives you the authentic mountain flavor at great value. Follow the main road in the second photo deeper in, and you’ll come to a small square next to a public restroom that’s not officially open yet. Park your car in this square. This is the starting point for the hike. 🧗 20-minute easy hike to the secret spot After parking, face the restroom and take the small path on the right side of the restroom to go in. Along the way, you’ll often see free-range yellow cattle wandering slowly. The roadside is lined with villagers’ citrus trees. After a few steps, you’ll spot colorful ribbons left by previous hiking groups. Follow the ribbons and you won’t get lost. The whole route is mostly flat with almost no steep slopes. A slow 20–30 minute walk will suddenly open up to the mountain scenery in photo four, just like the “real-life Zelda.” The continuous green forest and open meadows fill your view, and every photo looks like a game screenshot. 💦 key tips for waterfall check-in When I visited, the waterfall had very little water. I asked local villagers and learned that the waterfall’s flow isn’t related to the season but depends entirely on the upstream reservoir’s water release. After a heavy rain, when the reservoir opens the floodgates, the waterfall turns into a spectacular giant water curtain with double the visual impact. For those wanting to capture stunning waterfall shots, visiting on a sunny day after rain will maximize the experience. hiking guide Village waterfall check-in hidden gems Zelda day trips hiking route self-driving hidden spots waterfall viewing after rain

🌿 Venture into a 600 Million-Year-Old Cavern at the Earth's Core! A Cool and Fantastic Cave Exploration for Families in Guizhou's Bohe Cave · -- ⛰️ This Mint-Colored Secret from the Earth's Core Can No Longer Be Hidden Hidden in the heart of a karst landscape in Guizhou, Bohe Cave gets its name from the clear, mint-green sheen that appears on its walls under specific light refraction. It has quietly become a popular "blind box" adventure destination for families in recent years. Six hundred million years of time have sculpted underground rivers, stalactite halls, and crystal canyons. The cave maintains a constant temperature of 16-18 degrees Celsius year-round, making it a natural, cool air-conditioned room, perfect for a family's first cave adventure. 🕵️ How to Enjoy a Family Cave Exploration: Embark Like a Geologist The charm of Bohe Cave lies in the "sense of exploration" rather than the "check-in" experience. The standard route is about one to two kilometers long, led by a professional guide equipped with headlamps and safety gear. Children can also participate. Observe stalagmites and stalactites along the way, and learn about the formation principles of karst landforms. Experience "cave wading" in the shallows of the underground river; the water is clear and cool, and in some places you might even spot blind shrimp or bats. Some routes also incorporate paleontology experiences; if you're lucky, you might find crinoid stems or shell fossil fragments, fulfilling your child's dream of becoming a "little archaeologist." 🗺️ Specific Address and Directions Location Tips: Bohe Cave is not a mainstream tourist attraction. The specific entrance is usually located near karst villages in Anshun or Qiannan, Guizhou. It is essential to contact a local guide for real-time location information. Navigation only leads to the village; the entrance to the cave is usually a gravel and dirt road, requiring transfers to local vehicles or walking to reach the cave entrance. It is recommended to book through a reputable travel agency or local outdoor club, where the guide will arrange transportation and cave entry. Independent travel is not recommended. 🏡 Nearby Accommodation and Local Flavors After exploring the cave, you can stay in a guesthouse in a nearby Buyi or Miao village to experience the local ethnic culture. We recommend trying local firewood-cooked chicken, sour soup fish, or cured meat hot pot. If time permits, you can combine these with a visit to nearby Huangguoshu Waterfall or Longgong Scenic Area, creating a two-day, one-night natural and cultural tour. ⚠️ Must-Read Before Trip: Safety and Opening Reminders Before exploring the cave, be sure to contact your local guide or booking agency to confirm its opening status for the day. During the rainy season, rainwater entering the caves may cause water levels to rise or passages to become impassable, which is the main reason for closures. The caves are slippery, and some sections require bending over or wading; be sure to wear non-slip water shoes, long sleeves and pants, a helmet, and a headlamp. Stay closely with your guide at all times and do not leave the group. Some caves are undeveloped areas; independent cave exploration is not recommended for inexperienced families. Practice Leave No Trace: do not touch or damage the stalactites, and take all trash out of the cave to protect the purity of this millions-year-old underground wonderland. Attraction introduction Maling River Canyon is located in Xingyi City, Qianxinan Prefecture, Guizhou Province. It is an 80-km-long fissure canyon, known as the most beautiful scar on earth. The canyon’s cliffs on both sides are as sharp as if cut by knives and axes, and the river at the bottom roars powerfully, creating a magnificent scene. The scenic area is famous for its three main features: fissure gorges, clusters of waterfalls, and calcium carbonate wall formations. Dozens of waterfalls cascade down cliffs hundreds of meters high, like an inverted Milky Way. The calcium deposits on the rock walls, formed over billions of years, take on various shapes, making it a natural wonder of gorges and fissures. Covering a total area of 450 square kilometers, it includes the Maling River Canyon, Wanfenglin, and Wanfeng Lake as its three core sections. It is a national 4A-level scenic area. Cultural stories The Ming dynasty geographer Xu Xiake once traveled here and praised it highly in his travel diary. The local Buyi and Miao ethnic groups have lived here for generations. Legend says a fairy bathed here and, after being seen by a mortal, dropped her jade hairpin which turned into the deep canyon, and her pearls transformed into the many waterfalls. To this day, Buyi youth still sing antiphonal songs in the canyon during festivals. Xingyi is also the hometown of He Yingqin. Cultural sites like the Liu family estate blend harmoniously with the natural scenery. Location and directions Address: Maling Town, Xingyi City, Qianxinan Prefecture, Guizhou Province Navigation search: Maling River Canyon Scenic Area Driving routes: From Guiyang, take the Hukun Expressway then transfer to the Qingxing Expressway to Xingyi East exit, about 3.5 hours. From Kunming, take the Shankun Expressway to Xingyi West exit, about 3 hours. From Nanning, take the Guangkun Expressway then transfer to the Shankun Expressway to Xingyi East exit, about 4 hours. Public transport: Take a long-distance bus from Guiyang Bus Terminal to Xingyi, about 4 hours, ticket price about 120 yuan. From Xingyi, transfer to bus route 4 minibus to the scenic area, ticket price 2 yuan, or take a taxi for 15 to 20 yuan. Ticket information Admission ticket: 30 yuan per person. Fissure rafting: 160 yuan per person, highly recommended in summer. Opening hours: 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM. Best visiting season: June to October, when water volume is abundant and waterfalls are spectacular. Best viewing time is around noon when sunlight shines directly into the canyon, creating rainbows in the waterfalls. Classic 2-day itinerary Day 1: Arrive in Xingyi, visit Maling River Grand Canyon, admire the colorful cliff gorge and waterfall cluster, experience fissure rafting. In the evening, visit Xingyi Bagua Street to taste local cuisine and enjoy Buyi ancient music and bayin ensemble. Day 2: Explore the eastern Wanfenglin peak forest, take a boat tour on Wanfeng Lake, visit the stone forest caves, then return. Travel experience and impressions Standing on the viewing platform, the hundred-meter cliff cracks beneath your feet, dozens of waterfalls pour down, the sound of water like thunder, mist hitting your face. Walking down the plank road, look up to see flying waterfalls and flowing springs, look down to see emerald green river water, and reach out to touch calcium moss. The calcium carbonate wall formations shaped over billions of years resemble dragons soaring or fairies dancing, showcasing nature’s extraordinary craftsmanship. Summer rafting is a highlight, riding a raft through the canyon with sheer cliffs like screens, a strip of blue sky, alternating rapids and calm waters—an unforgettable experience. Tips to avoid pitfalls First, the plank road is slippery in the rainy season. Wear non-slip shoes and avoid high heels or slippers. Second, rafting will get you completely wet. Bring a change of clothes and waterproof your phone and camera. Third, there are many mosquitoes at the canyon bottom. Bring insect repellent. Fourth, there are steep sections in the scenic area. Let's discuss in the comments!

Just finished a full trip across Guizhou and sincerely put together a practical guide to avoid pitfalls. Friends planning to visit during summer vacation must read this! 1. Why be cautious about visiting Guizhou in July and August? Four major real issues 1. Overcrowded tourists, greatly reduced travel experience It’s peak student summer vacation, and all major attractions are packed with people · Huangguoshu viewing platform is crowded with visitors, photos are full of strangers, and the Water Curtain Cave has 1–2 hour lines · Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village sightseeing buses and viewing platforms have long queues, and the evening view of thousands of lights is packed with people · Popular restaurants and specialty snack shops have waits starting at 30 minutes, which is tiring when rushing 2. Unpredictable weather, feeling hot and humid Don’t be misled by the “summer resort” promotion! Mountain areas have large temperature differences between day and night, with intense sun and high heat during the day and sudden heavy rain in the afternoon High humidity makes sweat sticky all over, with many mosquitoes; in heavy fog, views of Fanjing Mountain and terraced fields are completely obscured Dressing formula: short sleeves + light jacket + long pants, umbrella or raincoat is a must 3. Exhausting transportation, easy to get car sick on mountain roads Guizhou is mountainous, with complicated transfers from cities to attractions After arriving by high-speed rail, you still need to take 1–2 hours of winding mountain bus rides, with many curves that cause motion sickness Distances between attractions are long, public transport is infrequent, and car rentals or direct shuttles double in price during summer 4. Prices rise across the board, very low cost performance Hotels, guesthouses, car rentals, and attraction dining prices generally double during summer Nearby specialty products, Miao costume rentals, and popular snacks are heavily overpriced, making it easy to waste money 2. Must-visit core attraction travel guide ✨ Huangguoshu waterfall | Asia’s largest waterfall · Visit order: Doupotang → Tianxing Bridge → main waterfall · Highlights: Doupotang was a filming location for Journey to the West; the latter part of Tianxing Bridge features a silver chain waterfall perfect for photos; the Water Curtain Cave at the main waterfall offers close-up views and rainbows on sunny days · Avoid crowds tip: Enter before 7 AM to perfectly avoid tour group peaks ✨ Libo Xiaoqikong | The green gem on the Earth’s belt · Recommended route: enter from the west gate, exit from the east gate, all downhill for less effort · Highlights: the emerald-colored Wolong Pool, 68-level cascading waterfall, rustic Xiaoqikong ancient bridge, water scenery everywhere, great for photos and playing in water ✨ Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village | The world’s largest Miao ethnic village · Experience: wear Miao costumes to stroll the old street, try the Miao long-table banquet, and enjoy the mountain stream toast ceremony · Tips: mountain-top guesthouses have great night views but climbing with luggage is tiring; don’t hesitate to bargain boldly for silver jewelry and specialty products on the street ✨ Fanjing Mountain | Real-life sky city · Landmarks: mushroom rock, red cloud golden peak, old golden peak, stunning sea of clouds at the summit · Important reminder: be sure to book tickets in advance and check the weather forecast before departure. On foggy days, the summit views are not visible 3. Guizhou must-try specialty food list ✅ Go for authentic flavors without hesitation 1. Sour soup fish: locally fermented sour soup is fresh and appetizing, fish is tender, perfect with dipping sauce 2. Siwawa: thin pancakes wrapped with various fresh vegetables, drizzled with sour and spicy soup, refreshing and light 3. Changwang noodles: spicy red oil broth, chewy noodles with crispy sausage and blood curd, a breakfast favorite 4. Laoguo: specialty iron plate barbecue, ingredients coated with chili powder, spicy and satisfying 5. Huaxi beef noodles, Qingyan braised pig’s trotters ❌ Attraction area pitfalls Overpriced long-table banquets, roadside wild specialty products at sky-high prices, overpriced popular drinks in attractions 4. Accommodation choices by area 1. Guiyang: around Jiaxiu Tower and Huaguoyuan, dense with food and convenient transportation, Twin Towers night view is photogenic 2. Huangguoshu: stay in guesthouses near the attraction to enter early the next day and avoid crowds 3. Libo Xiaoqikong: guesthouses near east or west gates, convenient for night market visits 4. Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village: choose mountain-top guesthouses for night views; if you have a lot of luggage or dislike climbing, choose street-level hotels at the foot of the mountain 5. Transportation options ✈️ Airplane: Guiyang Longdongbao Airport is the main hub, with subway and bus direct to downtown 🚄 High-speed rail: transfer at Guiyang North Station, connects to Anshun, Kaili, and other nearby cities, best for short trips 🚌 Attraction commuting: attractions are far apart with no direct buses, local direct shuttles or official car rentals are recommended; buy sightseeing buses inside attractions for unlimited rides 6. Best advice for off-peak travel If your schedule is flexible, prioritize travel in May–June or September–October ✅ Advantages: fewer tourists, affordable hotels and dining, higher chance of sunny days, clear views, no lines, immersive experience 5-day comfortable off-peak itinerary reference Day 1: Guiyang → Qingyan Ancient Town, relax and try local snacks Day 2: Full day at Huangguoshu waterfall, enter early to avoid crowds Day 3: Play in water at Libo Xiaoqikong, head to Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village by evening Day 4: Morning stroll in Miao village, afternoon visit Zhenyuan Ancient Town Day 5: Hike and sightsee at Fanjing Mountain, return to Guiyang

Hello, travel lovers! 👋 I’m your travel inspiration machine. If Guizhou is the ultimate summer getaway, then Liupanshui is the shining gem on top! Officially recognized as China’s “cool capital,” it has an average annual temperature of 19℃. Even air conditioners take a break here in summer. Many travelers rush through Liupanshui’s attractions, but today I’m sharing a no-detour travel map that makes it easy! Follow this loop to catch all the must-see spots without backtracking, saving you plenty of travel time. Get ready, let’s go! 🚗 🗺️ No-detour essential loop plan (copy this itinerary!) This route starts from the city, linking highland grasslands, wetland lakes, ancient ginkgo villages, and bamboo sea wonders, forming a perfect loop with no repeats. · Day 1: city stroll ➔ scenic lookout ➔ forest oxygen boost ◦ Afternoon: Arrive in Liupanshui and first visit Shuicheng Ancient Town to experience diverse ethnic cultures and lively nightlife. Then walk or take a taxi to the nearby Third Front Construction Museum to learn about that passionate era. ◦ Evening: The highlight! Drive about 30 minutes to Meihuashan Tourist Area. Highly recommend taking the 9.91 km Meihuashan cable car, the world’s longest single-route mountain cable car! As the cabin slowly ascends, enjoy panoramic city lights and distant mountains, feeling the awe of “looking down on all mountains.” Stay overnight on the mountain with a starry sky right outside your window. · Day 2: highland grassland ➔ fairy tale train ➔ canyon bamboo sea (nature route) ◦ Morning: Head to the highest grassland in southwest China — Wumeng Grassland. It offers 100,000 acres of endless pasture, and if you’re lucky, you’ll see the spectacular mountain Buddha’s halo. Snap photos at the viewing platform to wow your social feed. ◦ Noon: After descending, drive 35 minutes to Yeyuhai International Tourism Resort. Besides stunning natural scenery, the highlight is riding the “forest train” that runs through woods and flower seas, full of vintage fairy tale charm. ◦ Afternoon: Continue south to explore the mysterious Zangke River Scenic Area hidden in the mountains, feeling the ancient mystery of the Yelang Kingdom. ◦ Evening: Drive 40 minutes to Tuole Ancient Ginkgo Village. Though most beautiful in autumn, the summer village is also peaceful and quiet, with flowing streams — a perfect place to refresh your lungs. · Day 3: bamboo sea exploration ➔ Axilisi Jiucaiping (return route) ◦ Morning: Visit Dadong Bamboo Sea, stroll among tens of thousands of bamboo trees, listen to the rustling leaves in the breeze, and breathe in the oxygen-rich air — incredibly healing. ◦ Afternoon: Continue driving to Panzhou Shiqiao Scenic Area to see the amazing underground caves and ancient fossils. Then head to Jiucaiping Scenic Area (Axilisi). Though it may not be peak bloom season, the alpine meadows are still vast and breathtaking — every photo looks like a Windows desktop wallpaper. ◦ Evening: End your perfect trip by taking the high-speed train or driving back from Panzhou. 🏨 Accommodation recommendations (best value) · City/nearby suburbs (Day 1): The top choice is a guesthouse or inn in Meihuashan Tourist Area. It’s a bit pricier than the city but worth it for early morning cloud sea views and no hassle going down the mountain. If on a budget, chain hotels near Shuicheng Ancient Town are convenient with all dining and entertainment options. · Wumeng Grassland/Yeyuhai (Day 2): Stay in a tent hotel or unique wooden cabin near the grassland for a starry camping experience, or choose an inn inside Yeyuhai Resort for easy access to the forest train. · Tuole Ancient Ginkgo Village/Panzhou (Day 3): Tuole Village offers many charming guesthouses by the mountains and water, full of atmosphere. Panzhou city has many hotels with great value, ideal for a stop before heading home. 🍜 Must-try foods in Liupanshui (a carb lover’s paradise) Once in Liupanshui, your taste buds won’t stop! Don’t miss these specialties: · Soulful hot pot base: Luoguo! This unique Liupanshui dish is unbeatable. Find a street stall serving Luoguo, toss in potatoes, stinky tofu, pork belly, enoki mushrooms into the sizzling black clay pot, dip in secret chili powder — spicy, flavorful, and so good you’ll lick the plate! · Breakfast king: lamb rice noodles. Liupanshui’s lamb rice noodles have fresh broth and tender meat, smooth rice noodles, topped with a spoonful of spicy chili powder and pickled vegetables, plus freshly grilled tofu to awaken your taste buds. · Local flavors: be sure to try Panzhou ham, salty and rich but not greasy, and various snacks made from local bitter buckwheat — healthy and delicious. ⚠️ Pitfall guide & practical tips (important!) 1. Transportation: This guide relies heavily on self-driving or renting a car! Some attractions have buses, but they’re slow and infrequent. If you don’t drive, arrange a car and driver upon arrival. Daily rates are reasonable, and drivers know the best routes. 2. Clothing: Though it’s summer, Liupanshui has big temperature swings between day and night, and mountain weather is changeable. Short sleeves are fine during the day, but bring a light jacket or sun protection for wind, rain, and sun. 3. Meihuashan cable car: Expect long lines on holidays. If you want to ride, go early in the morning. If you’re afraid of heights, don’t worry — the cabin is fully enclosed with wide views. 4. Altitude sickness: Wumeng Grassland is about 2,500 m high. A few people may feel mild altitude sickness. Avoid strenuous exercise and drink plenty of water. Friends, do you find this no-detour cool Liupanshui guide useful? Are you more excited to stargaze on Wumeng Grassland or ride the forest train at Yeyuhai? Or do you have other questions about traveling in Liupanshui? Feel free to leave a comment!
