Visiting Shwedagon Pagoda, the most expensive pagoda in the world
The Shwedagon Pagoda is the main attraction of Yangon, Myanmar’s capital city. It is not only national symbol but also one of indispensable religious monuments in the world. Covered with hundreds of gold bar, the pagoda is the most expensive pagoda in the world. There are also hundreds colorful temples, stupas, and statues that make the pagoda a treasure of architecture, and art.
Located in the heart of Yangon City, the Pagoda can be seen from most places of Yangon City. You can chose to stay either day time or night time.

The Yangon Ring Road Railway has been in operation for more than a hundred years. Due to lack of maintenance, the railway has been deserted. The little train just entered the station and the crowd was surrounded. Because of the high compartment, one Burmese carried the cage and the other hand grabbed the doorknob to climb the carriage. It takes 3 hours for a small train to travel around the city. You only need about 1 yuan to buy a ticket to get a trip around the city. There are a lot of people on the train, tourists who take pictures with their cameras, students who carry school bags to go to school, and Buddhist monks. The most interesting people are the traders who shuttle between the various compartments. They carry a variety of goods in the basket, and they eat, wear and use everything. The little train swayed all the way, and the people in the car chatted with the rhythm and stayed. Perhaps this is the right way to take a small train.
My fav food and drink in Yangon
Burmese Tea (Lahpet yee)
Where to drink: You can find Burmese tea at almost any tea shop around Yangon, especially in neighborhoods like Chinatown or downtown. Popular spots like Shwe Pu Zun or Tea Garden serve excellent, authentic lahpet.
Why I Love It: The rich, sweet tea offers a comforting taste of home. Whether sipping it with friends at a local tea shop or at home with family, it’s a drink that brings people together.
Shwe Taung Noodles
Where to Eat: For the best Shwe Taung noodles, head to local eateries in the Shwe Taung region, or try spots like Shwe Taung Noodle House in Yangon, which serves the dish with the perfect balance of savory broth and toppings.
Why I Love It: The combination of tender noodles, rich broth, and the right amount of spice makes it my go-to comfort food. It’s a hearty, satisfying dish I always crave after a long day.

The exuberant spirit of Songkran.
#songkranfestival
Celebrating Songkran in Myanmar is an exhilarating experience, blending tradition with joyous revelry. The festival marks the Burmese New Year with vibrant water fights, symbolizing the cleansing of the past year's misfortunes and welcoming the new year with purity and freshness. In Myanmar, Songkran is celebrated with immense enthusiasm, where people joyfully splash water on each other, dance to traditional music, and offer prayers at temples.
The streets come alive with colorful parades, traditional performances, and communal feasts. It's a time of unity, renewal, and merriment, where locals and visitors alike immerse themselves in the exuberant spirit of Songkran, creating unforgettable memories amidst Myanmar's rich cultural tapestry.

Giving ourselves a treat in Yangon
The Seeds Restaurants has always been our favourite place to go in Yangon.
It is a must-go place for us to celebrate our birthdays. The environment is excellent, the view is amazing. Not to mention the food is phenomenal. My children always enjoying watching the rabbits and the chicken in the restaurants. Their daily lunch set is affordable and they have the best service in Yangon.

Golden Buddhist Temple in the heart of Myanmar
An absolutely must-see place in the center of the capital city Yangon.
This impressive religious complex is almost 100m tall and more than 2500 years old.
The ticket fee for foreigners is 10,000 ks, for locals the entrance is free. You should put your shoes in the bag as wearing them is prohibited. Also you need to wear modest clothes when visiting.
The best time to visit is early morning or late afternoon when it's less hot.

Top Things to Do in Myanmar
*An overdose of pagodas and a taste of the unique #burmese culture*
Visiting pagodas sounds drudging for an international trip, or so I thought. I didn't expect to find a distinctively rich culture amid the seemingly boring tour. As soon as I stepped into the airport, I knew I was in for something new - strange yet exciting!
✔Visited 8 pagodas in a day - couldn't even remember the names
✔Ate authentic Khmer's cuisine and delicacies - way better than Vietnamese food, but nothing beats Pinoy food
✔Prayed and did rituals like the Burmese do - really, it wasn't about religion, it was about faith
✔Applied 'tanaka' on face - it's the Burmese beauty cream, walked around the streets with yellowish paste on my face. It was a pretty normal sight in #myanmar
✔Wore the 'lungi' - it's a casual attire even for men, I was surprised to see a group of men wearing skirt-like garment at the airport (ihas mode on)
✔Walked barefoot on the streets and in the temples - my first and it was scorching hot, felt like my soles burnt. Talking about communing with nature 😝
✔Fed pigeons on the streets
✔Met polite and helpful Burmese and all of them can speak English
✔ Felt awesome for finally making sense with my trips 😁

The buddhist Buddhist culture experience
KHAKHATWAIN is Myanmar's most authoritative Buddhist college and one of the three Buddhist monasteries in Myanmar. Because there are 1,200 monk students who believe in the Hindu Buddhism in this Buddhist college, they are also known as the Thousand Buddhas College.
Featured recommendation:
For many tourists, the biggest highlight here is the vegetarian lunch scene at 11am every day, thousands of monks practicing, they are neatly led by the master. The team, hanging on the edge of the shackles, followed by one, went to the atrium of the college for collectiveization, aiming to thank the local people for the meals.
The crowd of mermaid enters. There is a dragonfly hanging on the chest of the monk. Some of them are silver and some are black bakelite. Many monks still hold the pen and the pen.
When the bells of the monastery ring in the morning, the vegetarian lunch begins. The Hinayana Buddhism stipulates that only two meals a day, no lunch, but the sorghum of the Hinayana Buddhism can eat three clean meats, that is, non-self-killing, non-my killing, not killing me. Before entering the dining room, the monks began to accept the gift of the donor, and the tourists could also serve the monk. In the restaurant, the youngest monk, their table is at the end.
The dining room has five rows of dining tables, six rows on the right and five rows on the left. Each table has five people, five dishes and one soup, and one pot of tea. The eggs are six.
Myanmar Buddhism Culture Brief:
Myanmar is a country with a strong religious consciousness. Monks wearing crepe can be seen anywhere in Myanmar. There are more than 10 million monks in Myanmar, and one in 300 is a monk or a nun. Every man in Myanmar must be a monk at a certain age, and only then can the society recognize his adult. In Myanmar, the freedom of being a monk is also free. The age of Burmese is usually around 10 years old, and the time of being a monk is as short as 7 days. The time to choose to be a monk can also be months, years, or even lifelong. For the monks, the deaf can teach them to get the necessities of food, clothes, shelter, medicines, etc. in the simplest way, and let them know how to be content and to cultivate their hearts.
