Something I've always wanted to try at least once when visiting Shiga: "The Black Bass Sandwich at BIWAKO DAUGHTERS🐟🥪" ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ I enjoyed it by the shores of Lake Biwa on a beautiful sunny day☀️ Eating a meal while gazing at the blue sky and Lake Biwa is just the absolute best‼️ ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ "Wait, can you even eat black bass?!" 🏖️Overview: Mount Mikami, with an elevation of 432 meters, is not a particularly tall mountain, but its shape is exceptionally beautiful✨. It has long been referred to as "Omi Fuji" and is one of Kansai's 100 Famous Mountains. Comprising two peaks, Otoko-yama (Male Mountain) and Onna-yama (Female Mountain), this mountain is cherished as a place worth climbing not just once, but twice or even three times. It can be viewed👀 from various locations within the prefecture, offering a sense of tranquility to those who see it. 💞Recommended Reasons: We parked at Mikami Shrine⛩️ and ascended via the front trail, descending via the back trail. Surprisingly, it only takes about an hour🥾 to climb. Along the way, you can try passing through🪨🪨 a rock crevice known as Warishi. There is also an observation deck where you can enjoy views of Lake Biwa💦 and the snow-capped Hira mountain range🏔️. We visited a park in Yasu City, Shiga Prefecture. It's a great park for families, and the grass is perfect for small children to play in. Opened in August 2025, Shiga Mock is an indoor play area in Shiga Prefecture that focuses on wood education. I recently visited this fascinating spot! To avoid crowds on weekends, they have implemented a three-session system. I visited during the 14:00–16:00 session. With a capacity limit of 100 people, it’s a safe and enjoyable environment. From advanced toys to a baby area for ages 0–2, the place is filled with wooden toys. Both the tower gate and the worship hall are wing towers, making this a magnificent and strict shrine. It was built in the Nara period, and in the Engishiki, the deity enshrined is Okuninushi-no-Mikoto, but it seems that 36 nearby shrines are included in the joint monument from the Meiji and Taisho periods. In front of the torii gate, a stream separates the shrine from the secular world, and the torii gate, tower gate, and worship hall are lined up in a straight line along the approach, and the beauty of the wing towers is highlighted by the shape of the towers. Once you pass through the tower gate, the trees of the forest add to the tranquility and strictness. However, the stiffness is softened by the turtle and ground cherries, which are the family crests of the temizuya. The worship hall is also magnificent, and the atmosphere of the minister guarding it beside the wing tower is good. The main hall is in the Shinmei-style Nagare-zukuri style. Important points✨This campsite is a day campsite, so you cannot stay overnight. We do offer overnight stays during events, so please contact us. 🌟The reception is right off the road. Cars during reception are parked inside. 🌟Ecological toilet💕This is a circulating toilet that is kind to the earth. I wasn't able to take pictures inside, but the water is always circulating and flowing. It's a very comfortable toilet with no smell. 🌟The cooking area is a stove that uses firewood and charcoal.
