The depth of Linyi lies in its quietness, in the faint braided rope impressions on the back of the Yinqueshan bamboo slips,
in the moment frozen when the dancer raises sleeves on the Yinan stone reliefs,
in the seventh echo of water dripping on stone in the Yishui underground river,
and also in the 0.3 seconds when you hold a bowl of vermicelli soup,
watching your reflection rise in the steam.
