Carefully planned trips or Spontaneous adventures? As a solo traveller and have been doing this for as long as I remember, I believe in planning. However, somewhere along the way, I will always give up. I don’t know how many plans I have decided to make but did not go through with them. I was on social media and just decided impulsively I was going to go to Zhengzhou then booked a plane ticket. What I did not know was this route wasn’t ideal at all because I wanted to go to Xi’an and that means taking a detour and spending more money. Anyways what’s done is done. Never ever rely on ChatGPT for visiting China. It sucks. Since I was already in Xi’an, I took a long stop there, can’t remember how many days it was but it was plenty. Then I decided to head to Yuncheng, because the salt lakes looked amazing. Yes, I did not have a plan as to what else I was going to do there except visiting the salt lake. It was one of the best decisions in my life. Originally, the photos online depicted colourful salt lakes. When I was there, it didn’t look like what was on social media. But somehow, it was so incredibly peaceful with so few people and the sight was endless. I cried because it was truly beautiful. I’m so glad to be alive. The walk there was a little further and being in a city where not many people visit? That’s something I will want to discover over and over again. This is one of my best kept cities. Food was spectacular too. Quiet, slow living. #underratedspots

I've strolled down Pingjiang Road countless times, but I never expected such a huge surprise hidden inside the Qian Residence at 25 Xuanqiao Lane 🫣 The moment I pushed open the gates of the Qian Residence, I was stunned—the hall of the old Suzhou-style house was filled with exquisite replicas of Shanxi murals. The jujube-red horse in the "Horse and Rider" painting from the Northern Qi Dynasty Lou Rui Tomb has eyes so lively that no matter which angle you stand at, you can feel it watching you. The morning mist hasn't cleared yet, and water droplets hang on the palm leaves—it's cool enough to walk around comfortably. Book your admission ticket in advance via the official WeChat account to avoid waiting in line at the entrance. 📍 Visit the Dai Minority Park after 4:00 PM. The tour groups have left, and the village is quiet enough to hear the sound of weaving.
