Xiping Old Village Mountain is a great free spot to enjoy the scenery of the Li River, highly recommended for a hike. The views from the top are shown in pictures 1-6. 1. How to get there Navigate to "Wu Qi Coffee," where you will see the graffiti and steps shown in picture 7. Just walk up the steps; there are no forks along the way. After climbing for a while, you will see a rest pavilion with average views that can be skipped. Keep climbing. Along the way, you will pass several local ancestral graves, so if you mind, it’s better not to go. There are several self-service water points on the climbing route, as shown in picture 8. Keep climbing until you reach the iron ladder in picture 9, then victory is in sight. At the top is a viewing pavilion where you can enjoy the Li River scenery. For better photos, you can climb onto the pile of rocks to the left of the pavilion. The rock pile has no safety measures, so be sure to be careful when climbing. 2. Notes (1) The path up the mountain is quite steep and takes about 40 minutes to climb, so it is not recommended for elderly people or young children. (2) Many stone steps are slippery, so be sure to go slowly when descending to avoid slipping or twisting an ankle. It is not recommended to climb on rainy days. The aroma of the bamboo tube and the chicken dipped in the unique sauce make it tender and flavorful. ✅Bamboo Tube Rice: Also incredibly fragrant! If you're looking for an authentic local restaurant in Xingping, this is the place to try. The beer fish is a must-order! The fish is incredibly fresh, reportedly from the Li River, with a wonderfully smoky, home-style flavor. The skin is slightly chewy, the meat is tender, and there's a hint of malty beer aroma. The sauce is perfect for mixing with rice. We also ordered bamboo tube chicken and stuffed snails. The chicken soup was delicious, and the chicken was tender. Be sure to dip it in the secret salt sauce! It's incredibly fragrant!! The food here has a very homey, rice-friendly flavor, which pairs perfectly with the beer fish. The location is convenient, making it a good place to eat while exploring Xingping. Perfect for a morning trip to Xiangong Mountain to watch the sunrise, visit the 20 RMB banknote, explore Xingping Ancient Town, and then stop by for a meal.

There aren’t many bald cypresses; what you see in P1 and P2 is all there is. On weekdays, many people are already taking photos on the boardwalk, and it’s probably very crowded on weekends. For those living farther away, it’s not highly recommended to make a special trip here.

​ Starting from Yangdi Pier, you can sleep at Jiuma Gallery to watch the sunrise, but the entire route is covered with stones, so camping anywhere is not very comfortable. (The stone steps coming from Lengshui Ferry! This spot is good!)​ If you drive, you can reach Xingping and walk from the ancient town to "Jia Tian Xia" (Best under Heaven) and back. My camping spot was at the "Jia Tian Xia" check-in point. Due to the slope and gravel road, I gave up the tent and went with open-air camping. ​ During the dry season, the water level does not rise much and there are no big waves. The stars at night are beautiful, with high visibility all night. In the morning, you can hear various birds singing. On the right side (towards Jiuma Gallery) there is a glow with the sunrise, and on the left side (towards Quanjiazhou) it is very gentle, with no glare for photos. ​ The route is friendly and well-established, with supply points almost throughout the entire route, so it can be completed in one day. ​ PS: There are not many restrooms, so plan your bathroom breaks carefully. ​ ✅: This Li River route! It is the cleanest I have seen on the road! Almost no white trash!
