I've had hot pot at this alleyway restaurant a few times before, and sitting in the courtyard in spring and summer is really comfortable. I suggest you come in the evening; with a cool breeze and steam rising from the pot, it's just the right feeling.
When we locals eat chicken hot pot, we don't really care how white the broth is; we just look at how fresh the chicken is. This place definitely uses free-range chicken, and the meat is chewy and not dry.
They even gave us two portions of cold dishes! They really understand people like us who want to try everything, hahaha! The ingredients were indeed fresh, and the cold wood ear mushroom salad was so crunchy, don't you guys love fighting over that the most?
