The sauerkraut fish was indeed very generous, with large and thick slices of fish. However, I want to emphasize that their soup base is only mildly spicy by default. If you can't handle any spice at all, be sure to specify "no spice" when ordering. Last time I took a friend, he didn't notice this, and the soup was barely touched. The sweet and sour meatballs were cooked perfectly, with a crispy outer shell, and went perfectly with rice.
This little restaurant is really affordable; you can eat comfortably for less than 30 yuan per person. I especially love the candied yam; the sugar strands are long and thin, and when you bite into it, it's crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, with just the right amount of sweetness. Paired with a cup of tea, it makes you feel completely relaxed.
I've eaten at this restaurant a few times before, and their ingredients are definitely clean, which I value. The prices are also reasonable; a meal for a family of three is easily affordable. The owners are a very welcoming family who will proactively come over to ask if the food suits their tastes. I recommend you try their stir-fried vegetables; the cooking time is just right.
