I've wanted to try this place for a long time. It's really good. The food is of good quality. The environment and tableware are also good. It's quite stylish. "West Lake Dongpo Pork" is delicious and the portion is very large. "Fried stinky tofu" doesn't smell bad from a distance, but smells bad up close. It's crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. "Bamboo tube rice" is a bit hard. "Pea lily" is very fresh. "G20 mung bean cake" has a G20 mold on it.
Located in the Leifeng Pagoda Scenic Area, facing the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon and Wangzhuang Garden, the scenery is pleasant. The Peony Chinese Restaurant specializes in Hangzhou cuisine and innovative dishes. The dishes are exquisite and expensive, and a 15% service charge is added to the total price. The waiters are dignified and serious.
The environment is very elegant, and it's not bad for a date. It's ancient and quaint. I think the Dongpo pork is a bit fatty, after all, I don't like meat very much. Then I ordered a rice dumpling, thinking it would be sweet, but it had basically no taste, no sugar, very light. Then the fish soup was sour and spicy, not particularly spicy, acceptable. The overall feeling is more ancient, not bad.
