Selected for Must-Visit Restaurants in Bangkok

This restaurant has three branches in Bangkok, Thailand. It is a Michelin-starred restaurant with a relatively high price. The Thai food here is very exquisite and respects the ancient craftsmanship. The taste is very pure and the presentation is also very beautiful. It is definitely worth recommending to everyone.

这家餐厅的冬阴功汤里的虾肉是整只的鲜甜又富有弹性，而且也不算很辣，味道刚刚的好。另外这里的芒果糯米饭味道也非常的甘甜，于冬阴功汤搭配真的是非常的可口。

The shrimp in the Tom Yum Goong soup of this restaurant is whole, sweet and elastic, and not too spicy, the taste is just right. In addition, the mango sticky rice here is also very sweet, and it is really delicious with the Tom Yum Goong soup.

This Thai restaurant is really cost-effective. The Tom Yum Goong tastes sour and the ingredients are very solid. The shrimp soup and curry crab are also very delicious. After peeling the shell, only the crab meat is delicious. The average price per person is about 120. Such an environment and such food are really cost-effective and worth recommending.

Wat Arun is one of Bangkok’s most iconic landmarks, but you don’t always have to visit the temple to enjoy its beauty. 7 Best Restaurants With Stunning Views of Wat Arun in Bangkok

I’m a Bangkok local and this is one of the few riverside spots I actually bring visiting friends to. The food feels like real Thai home cooking, not just tourist versions.

One of my favorite travel memories from Bangkok wasn’t a temple, a market, or a rooftop bar.

It was a lunch!

📍 Supanniga Eating Room Tha Tien
📍 Bangkok, Thailand
⭐ Michelin Guide Thailand 2026
💰 Dishes from ~$4 USD
🌅 Best time to visit: sunset or lunch

During this trip, I visited my first-ever Michelin Guide restaurant: Supanniga Eating Room Tha Tien, featured in the Michelin Guide Thailand 2026.

And honestly? It exceeded every expectation.

The restaurant sits right on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, just steps from Wat Pho and directly facing the iconic Wat Arun. Few restaurants in Bangkok can compete with this view.

The biggest surprise, however, wasn’t the location.

It was the price!

Many dishes start at around $4 USD, while most main courses range between $10–15 USD. For a Michelin-recognized restaurant in one of Bangkok’s most iconic locations, I found it surprisingly accessible.

✨ Useful tips before you go:

· Reserve ahead if you want a table with a direct river view.
· Arrive 45–60 minutes before sunset — you’ll experience the city in daylight, golden hour, and after dark when Wat Arun lights up.
· The nearest MRT station is Sanam Chai, about a 5-minute walk away.
· Combine your visit with Wat Pho, the Grand Palace, and a stroll through the historic Tha Tien neighborhood.
· Budget around $10–20 per person for food without alcohol.

The menu focuses on traditional Thai recipes inspired by family cooking rather than modern fusion dishes, making it a wonderful introduction to authentic Thai cuisine.

But what I’ll remember most isn’t a specific dish.

It’s the moment when the sky turned orange, boats drifted along the river, and Wat Arun slowly began to glow across the water.

I expected a great food.

I didn’t expect to spend half the lunch simply staring at one of the most beautiful views in Bangkok!

If you’re planning a trip to Bangkok and want one memorable dinner that combines incredible food, history, and one of the city’s best views, put this place on your list!

 #sunsetplaces
For the sunset chasers out there—this spot is an absolute must! Been vibing in Bangkok for a few days, but I’d been counting down just for this moment. You know those restaurants you stalk on IG because the views are unreal? Supanniga Eating Room • Tha Tien is that place. It’s literally right across the river from the legendary Wat Arun, and trust me—the sunset vibes are straight-up next level. 🙏🌅

I actually booked this place *a whole month in advance* (yep, I was that person!), and even sent an email asking for a window seat. They hit me back with “no promises,” so I mentally prepped myself for a random corner. But when I rocked up at 5 PM, the waiter walked me right to THE window seat of my dreams—exactly where I’d asked! My heart? Racing. This was already a win before the food even hit the table.

We ordered our food as soon as we sat—just in time to chill and watch the sky pull its color-changing magic. The sunset went from soft dusk to fiery orange-red, then faded into deep purple as night fell. Watching Wat Arun light up across the river? Unreal. ✨ If you want those once-in-a-lifetime views, THIS is the spot.

About the food—gotta keep it real—the flavors were pretty basic. 🙃
· Cabbage: Skip it.
· Crab meat scrambled eggs: Honestly, you could chef this at home. Only reason we ordered was because they were “recommended” on the menu (lol).
Don’t expect a mind-blowing meal, but it’s perfectly fine if you’re here for the epic view.

By 7 PM, a waiter swung by asking about dessert or drinks (maybe a bit too eager). We’d already hit the minimum spend per person, so when the last bit of golden hour faded, we paid up and dipped out.

Here’s the deal:
If you’re searching for Bangkok’s top Thai food, maybe try other spots. But if you want to soak in that picturesque sunset with Wat Arun glowing right in front of you, this is SO worth it. There are a few other riverside restaurants with comparable views, but hey—this was my lucky reservation!

THE DETAILS:
Supanniga Eating Room • Tha Tien
Address: 392/25 Maha Rat Rd, Phra Borom Maha Ratchawang, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200, Thailand
Hours: Daily 11:30 am – 10:00 pm
Super popular around sunset, so book early or you might miss out!
(Heads up—requirement for a minimum spend at sunset.)

Sometimes you go to a restaurant for unforgettable food; sometimes it’s all about the vibes. This place? 100% for that breathtaking view. If you, like me, think sunset > sunrise, this is your golden hour paradise in Bangkok.
