Tongling Grand Canyon is located in Jingxi, Baise, Guangxi, and is a natural attraction combining diverse views such as tropical rainforests, rivers, waterfalls, and karst caves. It is one of Jingxi's renowned attractions. Visitors can stroll amid the picturesque landscape and experience the refreshing forest air. Highlights include the 188 m-high Tongling Grand Waterfall, mystical cave waterfalls, fantastical karst formations, and ancient tree ferns dating back to the Jurassic period—all representing the essence of Guangxi's beauty, offering a feast for the eyes. A visit to Tongling Grand Canyon typically takes approx. 2–3 hrs. After entering the attraction, follow the boardwalk to explore the scenic area. The usual route starts from the main gate through Tongling Gorge to Tongling Grand Waterfall, where visitors can enjoy the waterfall and the Water Curtain Cave behind it. Then, travelers can return via Happiness Road or the couple path along Nianba Gorge, passing through picturesque landscapes of canyons, rivers, and trees. Along the way, there are views of an approx. 800 m underground river and ancient cliff burial sites. At the Nianba exit, shuttle vehicles are available to take travelers back to the main gate, or they can walk back in approx. 30 mins. From the attraction entrance to the Tongling Waterfall, there are about 800 stone steps. The descent is not too tiring, with spectacular canyon views, pristine tropical rainforests, babbling streams, and small waterfalls along the way, creating a refreshing and beautiful environment. Keep an eye out for unique trees like fig trees and towering palms, most with distinct tropical features. You can also spot ancient tree ferns dating back to the Jurassic period—worth a closer look. The Tongling waterfall lies deep in the canyon and serves as a key attraction view, with its mighty flow cascading through a geological fissure as if pouring from the crack's ceiling—creating a spectacular and surreal scene perfect for photography. Behind the waterfall is the water-curtain cave, featuring distinctive lava formations and a unique nine-tiered cave waterfall, offering sequential exploration opportunities.Jingxi · 27.4 km from downtown

Goose Spring is located in Jingxi City and has been one of the eight scenic spots in Jingxi since ancient times. Upon entering the gate of the scenic spot, along the riverside, visitors can see a towering mountain on one side and a rolling farmland on the other. A fifteen-hole arch bridge built in the Qing era can be seen moving ahead. From time to time, bamboo rafts pass beneath the bridge, which is one of the scenic spots of Goose Spring. The village connected to the bridge is called Nian'antun, where the original pastoral atmosphere is rich. The Yangyu Temple also stands next to Goose Spring. Three huge stone tablets, including the Goose Spring Pavilion Monument from the Qing Dynasty, stand in front of the temple. The tablets record the origin of the Goose Spring and poems about it.Jingxi · 4.9 km from downtown

Gulongshan Grand Canyon

7.6
4.5/5
1.5k reviews
Gulongshan Grand Canyon is located in Jingxi County, Baise City, Guangxi Province, close to Tongling Grand Canyon. Many visitors choose to explore both attractions together. The canyon is famous for its rafting experience, featuring unique scenery along the way, including dense primeval forests, spectacular canyon views, and several large-scale karst caves with extraordinary geological formations. It's definitely worth a visit. The best time to visit this attraction is summer, when the canyon offers cool, humid and pleasant weather. Rafting is the most popular activity here. The starting point for rafting is located next to Gulao Canyon, about a 20-minute walk from the attraction entrance. You can also take the Nokri Slide for a direct and thrilling ride. Once you arrive at the rafting starting point, your official adventure begins. The classic rafting experience at Gulongshan Grand Canyon lasts 1 hour, while the free rafting option takes 1.5–2 hours. After the activity, free shuttle service is provided to return visitors to the attraction entrance. Each raft accommodates 2 travelers with a boatman who serves as a guide, offering insights about the karst caves and canyon scenery along the way. Unlike typical thrilling whitewater rafting, this is more of a peaceful boating experience with minimal splashing risk—only shoes and pant cuffs might get wet. Visitors who wish to stay dry can wrap their shoes and pant cuffs with plastic bags. During summer, bringing water scoops or water guns for playful water fights in shallow areas adds to the fun. The rafting journey takes you through three canyons and three karst caves, with this alternating experience of light and darkness playfully dubbed the "three days and three nights" rafting by visitors. Both the canyons and caves offer breathtaking scenery. The canyons feature towering ancient trees, creating classic tropical rainforest landscapes, while the spectacular waterfalls with drops exceeding 100m make perfect photo spots. The massive caves boast unique stalactite formations that create a magical atmosphere, where you can unleash your imagination while listening to the boatman's stories and marvel at nature's extraordinary craftsmanship. The attraction offers rafting year-round, though the winter months from November to March bring cooler temperatures that reduce the fun of water fights and splashing activities. During this period, the attraction also opens hiking trails featuring floating walkways above the water. Visitors can choose between two route options: the full route or the half route. The half route covers only the New Bridge Canyon and Water Curtain Cave sections—one canyon and one limestone cave—which happen to be the most scenic areas of the attraction. Guests may select their preferred experience based on personal interests.Jingxi · 30.9 km from downtown

Each part has unique stalactite wonders in different shapes. You can walk to visit the beautiful scenery while imagining the meaning behind the stone pillars under the Guide of the Guide . In addition, the cave is lit with colorful bright lights, reflecting a magnificent world, which is also very good for taking pictures. The lotus basin is the essence of the Luomei Lotus Cave. The lotus basin is a natural stalactite basin that can store water. It looks like a lotus petal. Some basins also have natural giant stone pillars that extend all the way to the top of the cave. They are called "trees in basins". They are very magical and make people sigh at the uncanny workmanship of nature. There are two or three hundred lotus basins in the cave. Among them, the spectacular ones are about 9 meters long and 4 meters wide. The scale is the top of the world. You can take a good look. Cave pearls are also the treasure of the Luomei Lotus Cave. It is known as the "magical underground river on earth".3km, tour time approx.1.5hours. The wonders of land and water are integrated, complement each other, deep and mysterious, dreamlike, and beautiful! The underground dark river hides wonders such as "Nine Nine Caves", "Magical Dragon Ridge", "Golden and Silver Twin Towers", and "Heaven on Earth". Crossing the "Magical Dark River of the Earth" Tongtian Underground River is an underground treasure bestowed by nature to Pingguo Liming. It is composed of underground rivers, caves, and erosion fissures, which are constantly intertwined to form a magnificent and stunning landscape! Take a boat down the river and visit it, and you can't help but sigh at the magic of nature and its ingenious design! Exploring the "Earth's Core Statue" There are all kinds of strange rocks in the cave. One of them is very similar to the statue of the god. The locals call it "Buluotuo". "Buluotuo" is Zhuang language. In Chinese, it means the headman of the mountain or an Seniors who knows everything. Buluotuo is a mythological figure in the oral literature of the Zhuang ancestors. He is the god of creation, morality and ancestor. Watch the wonders of the caves The walls of the Tongtian Underground River Cave are as sharp as a knife, and the strange stalactites are reflected on the river surface in all colors, which is like a dream, as if you are in a fairy tale world. Many people think that the landscapes of underground caves are roughly the same, but in my opinion, different caves have completely different beauty, just like in the world, you will never find two beauties with exactly the same appearance and temperament.Pingguo · 53.3 km from downtown

Tongling Grand Canyon is a worthwhile attraction, boasting a diverse landscape including canyons, caves, streams, underground rivers, and waterfalls. The scenery is beautiful, and it's quite cool inside, noticeably cooler than outside, which is very comfortable. After walking a long way, we finally saw the waterfall, which was quite impressive. The best part was the cave beneath the waterfall; the scenery was unique. It's best to bring a disposable raincoat, as it gets very wet inside, like it's raining. I got completely soaked just taking a few photos. Dongnayu Bay is also decent. The first part is for boat tours; it's a river with clear water typical of subtropical and tropical climates, but there's not much else to see. Further in by land, there are some nice views, making it suitable for rafting, although that activity hasn't been developed yet.

Jingxi Goose Spring and Jiuzhou Ancient Town are a group of scenic spots in southwestern Guangxi that are well worth a leisurely visit. Goose Spring is known for its clear blue water, bamboo rafts, fifteen-arch bridge, and the reflections of the surrounding fields. It is tranquil and picturesque, perfect for daydreaming, taking photos, and listening to the sound of the water. Jiuzhou Ancient Town, on the other hand, has a more rustic Zhuang ethnic atmosphere. Its bluestone streets, embroidered ball workshops, Wenchang Pavilion, and riverside scenery complement each other, making it a great place to stroll and experience the local culture.

1. The most unique experience is the underground river rafting in the karst cave. The raft plunges into the dark cave, stalactites overhead, and the moment you emerge, lush green mountains and clear waters greet you – the atmosphere is breathtaking, a rare experience in China. The classic rafting is paddled by a boatman, so you don't have to exert yourself; it's suitable for the elderly and children (over 1.2 meters tall). 2. The Gulong Waterfall is stunning! During the high-water season, the water volume is enormous, and standing on the viewing platform, you're enveloped in mist. On sunny days, you might even witness a rainbow. The canyon is densely forested with high levels of negative ions, making it feel several degrees cooler than outside in summer – a natural summer retreat. 3. The route is very user-friendly, avoiding backtracking. After rafting, there's a short hike to see the waterfall, and then a shuttle bus takes you back to the entrance. The entire trip takes about 3 hours. A pure hiking ticket is available, allowing those who don't want to swim to explore the canyon and karst caves. ⚠️Negative Reviews & Important Notes 1. You will get completely soaked during the rafting trip, so be sure to bring a change of clothes, river tracing shoes, and waterproof cases for your camera and phone; the area around the waterfall is very humid, and lenses can easily get wet. 2. During the dry season, the waterfall's flow is low, significantly reducing the viewing experience. The best time to visit is during the rainy season from June to September. 3. There is a downhill staircase leading to the rafting starting point, which can be tiring for those with mobility issues; the cave is cool, so bring a light jacket if you are sensitive to the cold. 4. There are few shops inside the scenic area, so it is recommended to bring your own food and drinking water. 📸Photo Spots 1. Gulong Waterfall Viewing Platform: Panoramic view of the waterfall; wide-angle shots are best, and the soft morning light makes it easy to capture rainbows. 2. Cave Exit: As the raft exits the underground river, the cave entrance frames the green mountains and clear water—a perfect spot for photos. 3. Canyon Boardwalk: Emerald green streams and ancient trees with vines create a refreshing, forest-themed photo opportunity. 4. Stalactites inside the Cave: Soft lighting inside the cave allows for atmospheric photos of boating on the underground river, creating a mysterious and enchanting ambiance. 💡Tips Don't confuse it with Qingyuan Gulong Gorge! Qingyuan Gulong Gorge is located in Qingyuan, Guangdong, and features a high-altitude glass platform; Gulong Mountain Grand Canyon is located in Jingxi, Guangxi, and features underground river rafting in a karst cave and a giant waterfall. They are two completely different scenic areas.

The karst landscape of Haokun Lake is quite different from other places. The peaks here are more majestic and unique, some even possessing a kind of "imperfect" beauty. The lake water blends perfectly with them, creating a landscape where the scenery is in the water and the water is in the scenery, resulting in a unique charm.

The place is unique although not much visited, we were only tourists here at the time. We visited east and west peak (including cave). The cave is a must, you can feel here how magnificent large is the sinkhole. The glass walkway was the least impressive to us out of the place although there is a good coffee shop there. The place very much worth the visit, although not easy to get here.

The scenery is ordinary, with no special views. Just walk along the river to the end and then exit the cave. The lotus pots in the water are quite unique, and one of the largest ones is said to be the largest in the world. The karst rocks are not large in scale, just reflecting Luo Mei's love story.

The drive from Pingguo City to Tongtian River takes about an hour and a half, with beautiful scenery along the way. Tongtian River is an underground river, with 3.5 kilometers of the scenic area developed. Visitors can hike along the river inside the cave or take a boat. A better experience is to hike in and exit by boat, or vice versa. The cave stalagmites, pillars, and terraces are not large in scale, but the cave halls are tall and spacious, with caves within caves, sometimes connected by narrow passages, which is quite interesting. The cave is warm in winter and cool in summer, making it a good place to escape the heat.
