Benxi Water Cave

Benxi Water Cave is located in Benxi City, Liaoning Province. It is a large water-filled cave formed hundreds of thousands of years ago. It is the longest underground river in the world that can be visited by boat. The entire Attraction is composed of water caves, geological Attraction, Tiesha Mountain and Miaohou Mountain, which are distributed in a belt along the Taizi River. Tourists come here mainly to visit the water caves and museums. The water cave is divided into two caves, the water cave and the dry cave, with many stalactites of various shapes. You need to go boating to visit the water cave. The entrance of Benxi Water Cave faces south and north, and the entrance is half-moon-shaped. Above the entrance is written the four big characters "Benxi Water Cave". Entering the entrance is the "reception hall", which is very large and can accommodate thousands of people. From the hall to the right is a 300-meter-long dry cave, which is staggered and has caves in the cave. On the top and rock walls of the cave, you can see many stalactites of various shapes, such as ancient wells, dragon pools, and Baibu Pools. At the end of the dry cave is a clear pool, which is bottomless and the water vapor coming up is very cold. After exiting the cave and returning to the lobby, there is a pier leading to the water cave in front of the lobby. The water surface here is very large and can accommodate 40 cruise ships. Under the illumination of the Souvenir lights, it is like a quiet and unique harbor. Tourists walk down the steps from the revetment stone, get on the boat from the pier through the corridor, and start to swim in the water cave. There are many scenes formed by stalactites of various shapes in the whole water cave. Along the way, you can see stalactites such as Baolian Lantern, Yitian Long Sword, Crocodile Head, Corn Tower, One-horned Rhino, Spring Bamboo Shoots, Leaning Tower, Elephant, Snow Mountain, etc. on both sides of the river. In particular, the three scenes of Corn Tower, Jade Elephant and Snow Mountain are in line with their names and are almost real. In addition to the stalactites on both sides of the river, the stalagmites are picturesque and in various shapes, there are also stalactites hanging high on the top of the cave, which are very crystal and colorful, full of fun. The whole journey takes about 20 minutes. After visiting the water cave, you can visit the nearby Benxi Geological Museum, where you can learn about the main geological changes from the birth of the earth to the present. The museum also displays many precious samples of geological relics and prehistoric relics in the scenic Attraction, which are of great viewing value. There is only one restaurant in the Dining Attraction- Shuidong Juxianlou Hotel. Dining here is expensive, so it is recommended that tourists bring their own food.Benxi County · 3.3 km from downtown

Wunvshan Scenic Spot is located 8.5 km north of Huanren county in eastern Liaoning Province, adjacent to Huanlong Lake, with its main peak at an elevation of 823 m. It boasts a unique geographical location, majestic mountain scenery, breathtaking views, diverse flora, and delightful fauna. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a national 5A-level attraction, one of China's famous mountains, the first capital city of the ancient Goguryeo Kingdom in China's northern frontier, a national key cultural relics protection unit, and one of the top ten archaeological discoveries in China. Historical relics coexist with natural scenery in the attraction. The Wunvshan Scenic Spot mountain fortress is large in scale, magnificent in grandeur, and complete in system. In terms of city layout, wall construction, and stone processing, it highlights the outstanding wisdom and superb architectural skills of the Goguryeo people, pioneering the construction of mountain fortresses by the Goguryeo nation and exerting a profound influence on later Goguryeo architecture and even Northeast Asian architectural techniques. Inside and outside the mountain fortress, numerous early Goguryeo relics have been discovered, including the ruins of palaces, barracks, granaries, and heavenly pools. Having weathered over 2000 years of vicissitudes, these sites evoke deep reflections on the past and present, stirring endless emotions. Wunvshan Scenic Spot boasts not only profound cultural significance but also breathtaking natural views. The mountain features misty peaks, ancient pines in secluded valleys, a stream of white clouds, and refreshing breezes. The Feilai Peak stands uniquely, as if descending from the heavens; the Hero Pine grows against the mountain, evoking a heroic spirit; the One-Line Sky showcases nature's craftsmanship, with sheer cliffs on both sides reaching depths of 31 m and narrowing to 0.65 m—gazing upward reveals only a sliver of blue sky. From the General's Platform, one can admire the vast expanse of Huanlong Lake to the east and the mystical Taiji Diagram to the south. In misty rain, the verdant mountains and emerald waters resemble a delicate ink wash painting. At the foot of Wunvshan Scenic Spot, a new large museum covering 3,400 m² has been built. It showcases over 600 precious artifacts unearthed from the Wunvshan mountain city through various forms such as multimedia, phantom imaging, scene restoration, and electronic books. The museum recreates the glorious history of the early Goguryeo period and displays its unique ethnic culture.Huanren · 7.9 km from downtown

The scenic area was fantastic! I explored two different routes. The shuttle bus service was excellent and very convenient; it's free after you buy your ticket. The tour guides were also very responsible, reminding me of weather changes and recommended tour times. Thumbs up! I would definitely recommend the shuttle bus service to other friends.

Benxi Water Cave is the most beautiful karst cave I've ever seen. The stalactites and stalagmites inside are diverse in style—some majestic, some precipitous, some graceful. Looking at them is truly captivating. However, you can only look; there's not much interaction involved—the entire experience is by boat. The Petrified Wood Geological Park mainly consists of petrified wood fossils, which adds a nice touch to the overall experience of the scenic area.

First of all, the scenery is undeniably beautiful. However, we came specifically to see the autumn leaves, and surprisingly, there were very few at the time. Frankly, the "King of Maple Leaves" wasn't anything special; unless it's very close and convenient to get there, I wouldn't recommend making a special trip.

You can spend a whole day there. It is recommended to bring some food, as the food there is not very tasty. You can bring less water because there are a lot of people buying water. Anyway, it is very fun. I will come again next time. There are many places to take photos and check in, but there are a lot of people

The scenery at the scenic area: The air was crisp after the rain, a sea of green, and the maple leaves on the mountain were quietly turning red. Enjoyments: There were many activities, but there were almost no signage. We took a lot of detours. The sightseeing bus charges a one-way fee, and you had to buy a new ticket after getting off. The line for the airship was long and not very interesting. The boat only boarded at pier 1 and disembarked at pier 2. 🚢 From the upper deck, you could stand by the fence to enjoy the scenery; sitting down, your view was blocked and you couldn't see anything. You had to row the bamboo raft yourself, which was a pleasant experience. The smell of the airplane was strange. The high-altitude glass rafting was fun, a bit thrilling, with many twists and turns, and a moderate incline. The flying magic carpet ascended slowly, and the rainbow slide descended quickly, which was very exciting. I didn't see the 9D because I didn't plan my route well. Hike Experience: The slopes were not very steep until the Savage Valley, so it was easy. Then the winding mountain road was very steep. The climb to the top was very refreshing.

Surrounded by mountains and water, this "Little Jiangnan of the North" boasts numerous photo-worthy spots, including a misty forest wonderland and a light-and-shadow old street. It combines local delicacies like mutton soup and Manchu farm cuisine with activities such as forest water slides, pet interactions, and bonfire and fireworks shows. Visitors can also experience Hanfu dress-up, interact with NPCs to win prizes, and enjoy a one-stop experience for family trips, friends' getaways, and more.

The scenery is very beautiful, and the mountains in the scenic area are not difficult to climb, but the scenery at the top of the mountain is particularly good. However, the transportation is not very convenient. It took a long time to get there by car. I hope that the high-speed rail can be built to the vicinity in the future to make it easier for everyone to travel.

During the May Day holiday, my partner and I took a road trip, spending four hours exploring. Overall, it was a great experience. The trees weren't fully green yet, and the icefalls on the mountain hadn't melted, giving us a glimpse of the spectacular waterfalls in summer. The attractions weren't crowded, the management was excellent, and the service center was busy but organized. The sightseeing bus covered about 2.5 kilometers, followed by a 2-kilometer hike uphill. The hike wasn't tiring, and the leisurely pace was quite pleasant. The downhill walk along the boardwalk, following the babbling brook, was also easy. Overall, it's worth a visit—a less-traveled spot with fewer crowds and beautiful scenery.
